Just got an interface to record with. Gonna have the house to myself tomorrow to record.

Owen Jenkins
that an ass
John Brooks
Are multieffect pedals worth it?
Isaac Lopez
I'm restringing my electric guitar, and the high E string snapped. Could I use the high E string from my acoustic string pack instead? The only problem is the high E from my acoustic pack is an 11, which is the same as my B string on my electric.
Colton Wilson
just go get a new set of strings, they're $5
Mason Robinson
i guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow to do that.
>Cool album covers edition Hard mode: With the same guitar.
Benjamin Rivera
How many of you gig actively?
Gabriel Harris
>got a Cort M600 from Cash Converters for $270
Did I do good lads?
Michael Anderson
I don't actually have a creative bone in my body so I study theory obsessively. Wanna exchange gear pics since we have no music clips to share? Or maybe we could be Rocksmith bros!
Cooper Wilson
I do, have a show lined up on for the 29th. Had a show at a really nice venue in my city earlier this month but had to cancel because our drummer had the flu (still kind of super bummed about that.)
Liam Jones
Nope.
You need four-five pedals that will get you through 99% of all guitar music:
>overdrive >wah >chorus >delay >tuner
You can get all of those for less than $300 total. An EHX Soul Food, widely regarded as one of the best OD pedals to come out in years, can be picked up for $50 used. Same with a standard Dunlop Crybaby. A good chorus pedal will cost around $100. TC Electronic has a really nice little delay pedal. And all of it will sound better than any multi-fx board and probably last a lot longer.
Multi-fx boards are cute when you're just starting out but pedals are a much better investment.
Nicholas Flores
Yeah but you also need a pedalboard, whether you buy or build one that's at least 100$. And also another 100$ for a quality power supply. And you also need a case of some sort to lug it around in.
I agree, pedals >multi fx but still.
Joshua Gray

I'm so happy guys
Mason Reyes
Line 6 m9 is the only multi-effects processor to give any consideration. It's good.
Jacob Ross
Acoustic guitar you sissy
Parker Scott
I have an FX8 that I enjoy.
Brandon Baker
nice ass
Jonathan Gomez
Haha, you're not the only one who saw that.
Levi Stewart
I have left my Taylor 716 in its case for 6 months without a humidifier. How fucked am I? I'm afraid to open the case
Josiah Watson
I just bought a 2000 euro guitar
Parker Cox
What's a euro guitar?
Blake Brown
not anymore, since our bass player left for america for a year. he's returning in january, we should be picking it back up at that point.
David Lee
It'll be fine.
Humidifiers can cause other problems.

Ethan Allen
What are your favourite neck specs?

Carter Cook
>dude multieffects suck lmao Maybe $50 DOD ones do but not high end boards. Infinite tonal possibilities, infinite combinations and user presets, no worries about signal chain, no tone sucking from 10 plus pedals, no need to worry about true or buffered bypass
Easton Cooper
Multifx can't do analog tones. Nobody wants to hear the harsh plastic creaminess that multifx units impart
Julian Nguyen
>muh analog tonez Let me guess, you believe mahogany is "creamier" than maple too?
Jose Cooper
Medium C to D Compound 9ish to 14ish r.
Easton Richardson
Sucks when someone spills beer on it though.
Nicholas Watson
Thanks for the info. I'm just starting out and tried my friend's mfx and some of the things I like are flanger, tape echo/delay, overdrive. I'm not really in the loop, but do the pedals you suggest comprise more than 1 effect? Like would a delay pedal have multiple types of delay?
Joseph Richardson
how the fuck do I play this thing
Brandon Scott
With you hands, feet and knees.
Kevin Evans
R8 my guitar? I got a new neck along with Jackson pickups and a custom kill switch. The only thing is I don't know the name of the the brand. My uncle says it's opo but I can't find any others on google.
Parker Barnes
Kek as it does with anything powered by electricity

If it's digital, yes It's olp, Ernie ball music man's version of squire
I haven't played a guitar in 8 years but it's been a while since and my wife wants me to get back into music for our daughter.
I've owned a Fender MIA Strat, an Epiphone Les Paul, and a Fender Telecoustic, although for a few months I did play with a BC Rich Mockingbird a friend lent me.
I was originally considering an MIM Strat/Tele but the prices in Canada have jumped since last I looked. Like what was $500 in 2009 is now $800, so I think I may pass on that.
Has anyone here used Godin guitars? It's a Canadian company and as such the pricing is a little cheaper. I was also looking at an Epiphone Casino or an Ibanez (I hear they're good value-for-cost).
Any thoughts?

I got to play a 12 string hollow body electric at my local guitar store. What a treat to play.
Ryan Turner
Eastwood?
Ian White
What amps do you guys play?
For me, it's Orange
Ian Moore
>memeange They sound good but are massively overpriced
Robert Harris
Peavey, marshall, fender, orange, valco, vox, blackstar, hughes & kettner. I own at least 2 from each of those, and I think I'm missing a couple as well, and I have like 2 dozen crap SS amps.
Michael Wilson
I want pic related so fucking bad

OR15s are 700 bucks, thats pretty good pricing
A 50 watt rockerverb is 1900, a marshall 1987x is 2100
Hunter Hernandez
Godin's are fine guitars. John McLaughlin plays them.
I don't know what you are trying to say with this. It sounds very stock like a granola bar commercial trying to explain how good for you it is. What emotion are you attempting to convey, because it gets less stock in the second half but there is never an established melody you return to. It just sounds like noodling with a cappo. Although it is tightly played.
Daniel Nelson
I guess ‘comfy’ if that’s my emotion. I really appreciate your criticism though, user, I haven’t been able to get a lot of feedback on this stuff.
Eli Walker
I got kicked out of my band for playing a Fender because Only a Gibson Is Good Enough™. But I can't afford a Gibson®. I guess I'll quit music
Gabriel Ross
You should get rid of the whale songs and make a nice melody over your chords. Oh sing one with a harmony.
Jordan Thomas
youtu.be/_AGYh4K5rPk This one has a more traditional structure to it. >whale sounds It made me laugh but which part are you talking about? The very beginning? Whale sounds reminds me of when I was trying to learn sweep picking and it came out sounding like turkey gobbles because it was so sloppy kek
Justin Evans
Yeah the delayed out guitar.
This one sounds more fleshed out, but I would avoid using harmonics too much and make it more dynamic. The volume is consistant throughout where the slowdown in the middle would sound nicer if played softer and then with a gradual increase in volume back to the starting point.
Bentley Barnes
Yeah, that makes sense. Thanks dude! I’m getting ready for recording these with a full band and a couple other songs. Looks like I have some writing to do.
Juan Russell
>stock
>comfy
Good, we don't need more shatocasters and faguars.

Jordan Bailey
My wife left me for my exwife because Only a Gibson® Is Good Enough™. My 1st exwife got my Gibson® in the divorce and I could only afford a Fender afterwards. I tried to buy an Epiphone to win back my 2nd exwife but she just laughed while my 1st exwife played sweet child of mine in the background. It sounded just like slash, she even wore a top hat. Then my 2nd exwife got my epiphone and fender in the divorce. They tied them to the back of their limo after their wedding like tin cans.
Cooper Smith
hey /gg/, i really need help, i'm thinking of hey a new guitar tomorrow thoughts on the squier vintage modified Jazzmaster?
Wyatt Kelly
>squier
Christopher Morris
Only a Gibson Is Good Enough™. Don't get a squier if you want to be taken seriously as a musician.

having trouble with guitar chord recognition with justins exercises. Are you guys afctually good at this or should i skip it cos i always get it a little OFF ARGH
Samuel Robinson
What do you mean by chord recognition? Like hearing a chord and knowing what it is? I'm good at that, I couldn't tell you exactly what it is unless I have a reference pitch or know what key it's in(relative pitch). But if I hear an open G, C, D, A, E or something else basic I know exactly what it is. If someone were to play a barred G# half diminished or suspended 4th I could tell you what type of chord it is, and get close to the right note. I wouldn't be 100% sure it was a G# unless I already heard another note. If I played a C# I would immediately know the chord was a G#. I'm currently practicing perfect pitch.
