Santa is a poorfa/gg/? Wth

I got a mandolin guys
Is that guitar enough for this board?

Can you play it? If the answer is no then you'll fit right in here.

Go start your own general and shitpost there you fucking redneck

Where do I start learning sheet music

I mean I can kinda play it
I got it for Christmas. Bit harder to play than guitar

>redneck
Calm down, he might just be europoor

>redneck
Jimmy Page played mandolin m8

See

But... but... only hillbillies play mandolig, right?

Losing my Religion has mandolin in it

Bigfoot, sasquatch, yeti, all the same aside from region. So, yes and no.

...

Through learning music theory.

Fuck off, Brian.

Receiving a folk/classical guitar for christmas, what should i get ?
I've never played guitar, but i used to play piano, cello and violin as a kid so i know the feel of picking a chord with your fingers.
Price would be in between 150 - 300 $

>classical guitar
Get a real acoustic with metal strings like a real man. Nylon strings are for pussies

This, classical is for limp wrists and willie nelson

I already know music theory and which note is which from playing piano a couple of years. I just wanna know how to start learning the notes on the neck of the guitar

>t. Festivus Follower

Hi roman, I see you're changing tactics.

You know the alphabet and intervals right?

ok that was what i was planning for anyway, another recommandation ? What brand ? Any thing i should know before buying one ?

Sure do

feliz natal, pessoal do /gg/

Feliz navidad, cabrone

Yea it's being sold on Craigslist in my city. I plan on replacing the pickups and tuners if I like it. I keep hearing mixed reviews about epiphones but the last Epiphone I held (it was a Epiphone Les Paul Ultra) felt great in my hands.

Looking for virtual amps and effects for afrobeat/carribean type stuff. Something like guitars on tony allen albums or garifuna collective sound. Anyone got a clue where to start looking?

I'd go for a yamaha of some sort. Try to get something with single pieces of wood. Also decide if you want a built in mic, though I don't think you need it if you're starting out, it's just going to drive up the price.

a jc-120 clone is all you need

Free Jazz

Is this some kind of IRL shitpost?

Will this hold me off until I can save up enough for an elite strat?

freejazz is basically that, yes

save up for a Mexican Fender Tele

You've been conditioned by normalfag notions of consonance and dissonance, learn to feel harmony outside of what you've learned all your life.

my fucking wrist nerves are hurting and tingling

Isn't that a $150 guitar brand new? Fuck that man.

Yeah you're right. It's just gonna make it take longer. I already have a really nice twin reverb amp just sitting in my room that I can't play but I'm a wage cuck and I won't have enough money for the elite strat until February at the least

stop playing for a bit, then when you come back to it pay attention to your wrist position (keep them as straight as you can whilst still being able to play what you need), maybe consult your GP. Don't bruteforce it, you'll just hurt yourself, maybe irreversibly.

You should just permanently stop you pussy faggot.

they still get hurt using the computer

whatever, if i should. i won't .

Soak your arms in epsom salt 3x a day for 10 minutes each., anti-inflammatory meda if you have. Massage your wrists/forearms.

This sucks but you can recover. Don't fight through the pain because you can't unless you never want to play again

Generally speaking, at what price point do you start seeing diminishing returns on money spent over quality on guitars?

i havent gone that far

Have you guys ever learned any of the guitar tracks from this?

This, unironically

$800 for Electrics. $1500 for acoustics

I was only kidding. Merry Christmas.

Watch the andertons YouTube vid. They explain it pretty well.

If you buy it cheap enough it could be worth it. I'm just saying don't pay more than it costs to buy one new.

Like this, same guitar... You could always sell it when you buy your Elite and get all your cash back

guitarcenter.com/Used/Squier/Standard-Telecaster-Solid-Body-Electric-Guitar.gc

Depends entirely on the brand. Honestly, I'd say diminishing returns kick in pretty severely at the 300 dollar mark.

If you absolutely need a graphite neck due to retard humidity, or you fell for the fanned fret meme, you might be able to stretch to 500+.

How bad will that sound on my twin reverb?

It'll sound fine. It's the hardware they usually cheap out on.

The amp hardware or the squier?

Damn these threads are dying off more and more

Well, it's christmas. People are busy

My dad is out hunting and my mom is in the chair beside me playing one of those FarmVille games on a tablet

I think I actually did more practice in the past two days than in the previous month. Which really shows how much I shirk practising most of the time.

Yeah, but the majority of people aren't browsing forums right now.

these threads are alive when the nepalese fenders shills are around but they are on vacation.

Just picked up a Fender Modern Player Dimension Bass, but the electronics aren't working, however I'm a newfag and can't identify the problem besides that one wire is missing a connection. Can anyone help me out? Pic related.
Also that pot is the 5 way coil selector.

Posted about this in that christmas thread but here's some pretty crazy surprise gifts my parents got me today.

Other than just incessantly playing Beatles covers anybody got any ideas for what I can do with it? I know Ricks are pretty limited but I think it's a pretty underutilized sound today so I'm hyped to see what I can do.

Rickenbackers are great Skronk guitars. Play some no-wave or post punk

you can do tame impala covers, MC5 covers, Yes covers, etc.

Or Fugazi.

>limited
I don't know what you mean man, you've got six strings and two hands you can do whatever you damn well please

>squier

I’ll be spending the day restringing my guitars, putting on a new pickguard and drinking as much whiskey as I can.

squier are acceptable enough

I was thinking the same thing, I think it'd sound really great in a noisier context. Even Lennon's rhythm work with it is really fuckin rough and aggressive if you actually listen.

Really I'm just happy to have a Rick at all, like holy shit.

yeah because what else do you have to do today right

ok roman lets see a time stamp

>want to replay all the songs I know
>know over 150+ songs
Sometimes I regret

My budget for an amp has increased

Should I get?

you missed the peavey
>santa visited a pawn shop

no. buy something else

As soon as people see me tinkering they leave me along, which is kind of nice. It’s better than having to play Christmas songs for the family.

>its better than having to play christmas songs for a family
whatever you need to tell yourself i guess

I'm using Guitar Rig 5 for practice. My latency is 30 ms. I'm using USB card in WASAPI mode. Recently I've noticed that I'm playing off-beat to the track I'm practising with no matter what, and it's driving me nuts now.
Should I just buy myself a practise amp? What is the acceptable latency?

I'm plugging my guitar into the USB sound card, I mean.

how bout a cheeky jet glo finish reflection stamp

Just practice without plugging it in?

Any dudes here sing while playing? How tf do you do it without losing half your concentration?

Just get a used Fender Rumble and that cab secondhand is $100

1 ms

> Guitar rig
shit is pretty obsolete get scuffham s-gear 2

If you're just doing rhythm stuff it's not that hard, just takes getting used to. If you wanna play lead you either have to play in between vocal phrases or just be really fucking good to the point where playing complex licks is just as second nature as strumming chords.

>weirdly edited two pics together
wtf dude

Unless I'm improvising I don't need to think about what I'm playing.

Do one until it comes naturally and you don't need to think about it, then add the other in.

Not Memeing but listening to ITAOTS and playing along to it till I could sing along helped a lot. Rhythmic chord progressions become muscle memory and also the chords change with the notes on guitar so you can "feel" the changes on the verse and that's how you know when to change chord
