Subtitles spoil what's about to happen

>Subtitles spoil what's about to happen

>Oh sheesh, there's nothing behind us--

>subtitles are 0.5 seconds too fast, ruins any tension

if only there was a way to delay subtitles

>mysterious person in the shadows
>mysterious person talks
>subtitles ruin it by showing his name when you weren't supposed to know it yet.

>subtitles are full of grammatical errors, misspellings, lack of punctuation and general mishearing on part of the transcriber
>mixes up character names
>summarizes dialogue by leaving out half of it due to laziness

Netflix needs to get their shit together. The Trailer Park Boys subs are fucked.

why don't they do the courtesy of splitting the subs in two to delay the information to where it's supposed to be? I mean it's someone's job isnt it

>end of episode/film
>"Subtitles by XXX" shows up

Most of the time it isn't unless we're talking official subtitles. And those might even be deaf-friendly.

Holy shit this.

>kino/episode ends
>visit us @ SHFKHDFS.com

netflix got fucking sued. Networks argued them creating subtitles for shows was somehow copyright infringement.

So now they can only use the subtitles provided by studios.

>Watching Sopranos, Trailer Park Boys or Community with subtitles
>Ends of lines are constantly spoiled
>Misleads, switcharoos, and quick twists are ruined entirely

>go to edit the subtitle
>the last line gets spoiled

nobody wins

>Watching Sopranos, Trailer Park Boys or Community with subtitles
Why
>Community
Double why

I watch everything with subtitles faggot.

I realized I had to turn them off very quickly for those shows.

>the community is bad meme

>I watch everything with subtitles faggot.
Repeating the statement doesn't explain it.
>the community is bad meme
It's shit after S1 and everyone agrees.

So I can remember very specific lines of dialogue more easily to shit post with them later.

>go download subs for an episode
>they're uploaded by GoldenBeard
Based GoldenBeard, I love that guy

You're so pleb tier that you had no other option but admit it.

Buddy? Are you okay?

At least tell me it isn't your first language.

>watching gook pedophile porn cartoons
>character says onee-san
>sub says character's name

>subtitles are obviously translated from google
i mean i appreciate the effort for whoever did it but come on

Oh ok.

I don't really understand what you're going on about so I'll see you later

What do you mean come on? You think subtitles fall from the sky?

Watching subtitles is useful for a variety of reasons. You pick up on character names quicker, especially for minor characters. You never have trouble with accents. If some noise happens, like some normie trying to talk to you, you can still process the dialogue.

They're also not hard to absorb at all. Apparently some people actually have difficulty reading. I absorb the text instantly.

I need subtitles when black characters pop up as I'm not american and am not used to the ebonics.

Like 100% serious no joke, I can't watch the flash without subs because it's hard to understand Iris. And she doesn't even speak like a black person.

expecting someone to translate a movie properly really isn't too much to ask for. especially if its translating from a language that something like google fucks up badly.

Does anyone have problems with watching blu rays on televisions? It's like you need a 5.1 surround set up just to be able to hear the dialogue properly. That's why I need subtitles. And then sometimes the subtitles have weird illegible characters midway through words or every single apostrophe is like a random letter.

I need subtitles because my gf literally cannot stop talking.

Yeah if you are deaf.

are you the same guy who got ass blasted at someone else for using subtitles?

Watching with subtitles is maximum information mode.

Actually max info mode is watching on Netflix with subtitles + audio description, but most media don't have audio description. Subtitles improve the movie experience regardless of whether or not you're deaf.

do it yourself then

>autistic subtitles are colored by characters and placed in little bubbles above their heads
>half of them are noises and subtitled for hearing impaired

that literally never happens

yes it does and I'm not even talking about comics but actual movies

Subtitles give you more information about the dialogue, actions, and music than you would otherwise have. Subtitles are patrician. So what if it throws off the some scenes?

Might as well skip the movie just read the Wikipedia page.
