neat

Who is this grandpa Hiroshima and why should I care what he thinks about some shitty animations?

Well, yeah, it's absolutely revolting. I was expecting run-of-the-mill CGI, not this horror show.

SAVAGE

those old japs are a bit uptight arent they

What a dumb overreaction. Even from this short excerpt they made it clear enough that they are experimenting with AI ability to be creative, and that this way of movement was just a product of trying to get AI to move itself. The zombie thing was just something they were able to see as a possible application of their technology. Then Miyazaki has to act like they are making light of people with disabilities like some SJW and start on his lecturing old man rant "oh my god young people are ruining the world" bullshit.

Miyazaki is disgusted by anything he didn't personnaly make.
At this point, he is the grumpy old man who refuses to even take a fair look at anything that isn't done like it was in the good old days.
He has some very good points when it comes to the state of animation, of the entertainment industry but deep down he is completely out of touch on many, many issues.

>show old cynical man new technology
>acts cynical about it

Well no shit

Why is he disgusted by this when he touches children?

kek

why does the colonel matter here again

>you people who did this don't know what pain is fair enough)
>therefore I won't use computers
god damnit, we get it you want to live in the 60s forever

nice, fuck that loser

t. millenial

they showed him shitty japanese CGI, if it was some top notch pixar work he would love it

but WHY?

lol, he overreacts, but that stupid young jap acted like he was just stabbed

He's disgusted because of the content and lack of artistic involvement not really because of it being CGI.

Miyazaki has used lots of CGI in his movies, and it was John Lasseter that convinced him to use CGI in the first place back in the late 80's early 90's after Lasseter showed him his work on Rescuers Down Under and production tests for Beauty and the Beast.

ITT: buttblasted CGI shitters

and these are the people who will never market anything

>ahhh the client is stupid! they just don't understand my genius!

so one old out of touch person that isnt your demographic doesnt like your shit so you should give up

go back to marketing school

He is not disgusted by CGI he just got triggered by the content. The point of this demo wasn't even meant to showcase the CGI, it was meant to show their AI experiment stuff.

who gives a fuck what this old fart thinks

>implying this isn't exactly Miyazaki's line of reasoning
He hasn't worked on anything he wanted to work on for over a decade.

He's right. It looks utterly fucking atrocious.

The sole attempt to speak positively of it should be punished by 50 lashes to the wrist.

It was a poor choice of an example for the demo but how were they supposed to know he would freak out about it

>hurr this is objectively shit because of my anecdotal personal tragedy no one in the rest of the world gives a fuck about makes me cry

What the fuck. Nothing he said has even anything remotely to do with what he was shown.

Wtf I hate Miyasaki now.

>calmly expressing his opinion
>overreacting
what
Also, by "we're reaching the end of times" he's clearly talking about people wanting to remove the human talent from animation

>letting old people speak their opinions or take important desicions in anything other than diaper brands

sasuga desu

>specifically told the AI doesn't understand pain and so it can create grotesque animations humans wouldn't think of
>WAAHHH SO GROSS
not sure if he was actually listening to the guy presenting or not

Humans won't be necessary anymore.

>all these muh le zombee gaypocalypse libcuck subhumans mad at Basedzaki
back to plebbit

Miyazaki is like 80+ years old and every work from him he did the drawnings, of course he won't like it.

And for people insulting him, fuck you, this guy is a master of his work.

it's like something from The Office
jesus christ

"Technological advancement was a mistake"
-Hayao "The Luddite" Miyazaki

are you ok bro, looks like you're having a stroke

>exploitation is not only found in communism, capitalism is a system just like that. I believe a company is common property of the people that work there. But that is a socialistic idea. Nowadays, American style capitalism has become mainstream. The stock holders have voices and change managers to get more profit in the current term. In addition to that, they downsize or restructure regular employees and enlarge temporary workers and part time workers. For them, temporary workers are just disposable. On the other hand, regular employees also are completely exhausted in hard work. Such a system is quite Animal Farm like.
pages.citebite.com/n1r2l0s7w6abj

what did he mean by this

It is an insult to Allah to create machinations which think and act upon their own will! We will unleash a Butlerian Jihad upon all those who attempt to create intelligent life outside of the human soul!

>old man gets triggered by things he cannot understand
kek

he wants life to be like in a small village Heidi toon

they really made him think

...

I thought he was rude.

He meant that capitalism is as flawed a system as communism from the perspective of the workers, a point that can also be found in Animal Farm.

But Studio Ghibili used CGI often

sounds like trotsky

not sure if i trust him

>AI demo
>it's just a fucking Chriddof video

Can he really not tell this is fake? How retarded do you have to be to think the zombie apocalypse is actually going to be the end of the world and that your disabled friend might be one of the infected from a CGI demo.

Snowball in Animal Farm is Trotsky.

Holy fucking shit I'm crying. I've seen Miyazaki BTFO of people (usually his own staff) in dozens of documentaries and it never gets old, but this might be his finest work ever.

whoah that changes the book entirely

Based ojiisan.

Miyazaki has a history of hating pretty much everything. They were complete retards to show him something grotesque.

Miyazaki is a weird guy. I watched a documentary of him and it really depicted him as some strange loner that has quirks while also a typical old man that hates anything new

>a bloo bloo I just want to make animus where little girls save muh environment
Get fucked you irrelevant dinosaur

Game shitters BTFO.

It's not a matter of technology. What they showed him was ugly as fuck and had zero creative work.

He's right you know?

this reaction comes from fear, they can see the future sitting across from them and they are scared

>Anime was a mistake

Is Miyazaki an anarchist-primitivist?

I can imagine him agreeing with all the shit in Kaczynski's manifesto

Why would you show Ghibli execs videogame tech for making horror games?
Just how much of a retard you have to be to think "yeah, the man who has done nothing but kiddie cartoons the last 20 years since Mononoke will surely like my horror tech!"

it's from a Nathan For You episode

>exploitation is not only found in communism, capitalism is a system just like that.
I thought this was a well-known fact.

There's a shitton of exploitation in capitalistic systems. Or are Japs too overworked and dedicated to their jobs to not realize this simple epiphany?

>what's your goal here
>We want computers to replace you

Japan is going to shit so fast and anime and video games are 100% to blame.

You need to be 18 to use this site.

well at least the japs are being honest about wanting to replace their citizens with machines

>shitty animations
The man is an actual living animation legend and this is objectively wrong. He's a literal living Disney, if Disney was a decent egalitarian.

I wonder how all those technocratic bosses will respond when people stop paying for their shitty, automated identikit anime.

Imagine a technocratic society in which the technology is only available to be used by select 1% picked by the advanced, perhaps more elaborate version of the iq test. The remaining 99% lives in a simple agrarian society. Tell me it's not a fair, perfect state

he actually gets triggered because the animation reminds him of his disabled friend

Have people actually watched anything Ghibli put out since the 80s?

>nothing but kiddie cartoons

The Fire Rises was not a kid's film.

ITT people that is not worth of gently cleaning with the tongue between Miyazaki's feet fingers, criticizes him

>decent egalitarian
I wonder if everyone who works at Ghibli get employee-mandated health insurance.

Hi, Stalin.

What are you trying to say exactly? That they actually don't get health care? Or that he's not a decent person?

get on with the times old fuck!

>t. says the user who hasn't cared about or paid attention to Ghibli since the 80s
see: "The Wind Rises"
next look at how much money it made

this is a great idea for horror games though

>objectively wrong

Maybe two of Ghibli's entire output is any good m8. The rest is overt Japanese culture wank and outdated, biased, nostalgic environmental messages shoved down your throat.

>Alt-right

Their videogame industry is completely out of touch. All their big companies are sinking. I doubt that industry will last 10 more years

>muh ghibli is sancrosanct

Yeah nah

He's only decent at beating up his own kid.

Shinkino are the only worthwhile anime movies

I was being a bit rhetorical, I genuinely want to know how "egalitarian" Miyazaki is with his colleagues, compared to the corporate slave-owners at Disney

Yes but it's still a sentimental and very personal film, and doesn't speak well of war considering how much it condemns it.
Why would you still think showing 3D tech to Miyazaki of all people was a good idea.

>The Fire Rises

youtube.com/watch?v=36odfqA-Xqw

It was PG-13

REKT

>"we moved this ragdoll around on the floor what do you think?"
>"it's stupid."

I mean he's right it was stupid. they could have at least played the video of the walking simulations that learn to walk properly. you could recreate this video in gmod.

>harmless AI creates cool and unique animation to entertain humans
>IS IT MAKING FUN OF DISABLED PEOPLE?!?! MY FRIEND CANT EVEN HIGH FIVE!!!!

human "logic"

He's 75

I like how the newest FF is literally following a bunch of One Direction faggots running around in gigant chickencobos.
And i love how actual human being were paid to make that and how actual human being paid to get that.

Loving all the assblasted CG idiots in this thread.

Miyazaki's completely right. He said the creators of this mess had no understanding of real pain, and that's completely correct. Instead of trying to understand that element of the human condition and use it to fuel their work, they decided to rely on an unthinking, unfeeling machine to do it for them.

Anyone with the slightest artistic sensibility should be rightly appalled at the artistic, emotional, intellectual and philosophical bankruptcy of this endeavour.

Holy shit, this is a great example of why Japan is stagnating.
> "Hey boss, we made an AI that creates animations. With the right tweaking, it could have tons of uses. Right now it's still experimental and just makes creepy animations, but even so, we could license it out to zombie game dev #56."
>"This is an affront to life itself."

He is right thou, AI can't be allowed to exist.
Westworld and Ex Machina proves this.

I don't get the point.
Did these dudes really show this crap to high up dudes at Ghibli and think "I bet they'll like it! :)"

Heil Hitler doubles here understands.
