Americans will never EVER know the pleasure of driving a Twingo

k

KK

what a tragedy

These are lies. Once it meets the 25 year rule, it'll legal to import one. The rule is only 15 years in Canada, so I could technically get one right now if I wanted to (and had money).

hon hon

>tfw doing burnouts and donuts in a twingo
it's pretty fun desu

:( looks comfy

...

How many of these first gen Twingos are actually still drivable today?
I heard they are ridiculously unreliable and miserably put together.
And the current gen Twingo is just a rebadged Smart, which is pure shit and not spiritually French at all.

>pleasure

TWINGO THREAD?
TWINGO THREAD

...

Haha, Dwingo :-DDDDD

...

My first car (a Twingo I bought for 250 Euro) had some sort of malfunction with engine cooling. In summer I had to stop every 30 minutes and pour a bottle of water over the engine because it would get too hot.

Once I ran out of water and pissed on the engine. Pissing on the hot engine created horrible smell, but it cooled it a little bit so it was good.

...

WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW??

>countless automotive forums to choose from since the 90's
>actual informative posts and help for fellow users regardless the make/model
>the internet was once basically porn and automotive help (still is)
>dumbfucks still choose to go to /o/

...

...

...

...

lmao

This is basically /o/ summed up in a single image.

MERCI TWINGO

cimer twingo

Never been to /o/, but I'm sure the majority of the post consists of 15 year olds looking to make their hand-me-down grocery getter "fast", what the best bang for your buck sports car (I'm guessing 90% say Miata the same way /k/ sucks off Mosins), and whatever hipster trend is currently going on.

Probably constant threads about American automotive quality as well, right.

You've clearly been to /o/. Stop lying.

This
Everybody knows /o/ is a twingo board and has always been

No, actually I haven't. I just see enough meme's from them, as well as lived past the age of 16 to know what young immature car lovers are interested in.

Someday you will too.

oh shit the french are at it again.

Our physics teacher in middle school drove one.
We actually made fun of him and his car.
Poor guy, he was nice.

MERCI TWINGO

I want to ride a French Twingo, if catch my drift haha post boipucci

>oh shit the french are at it again.
they stole the idea from us and STILL deny it

The heck is this? Is this... PROTO TWINGO???

>Pissing on the hot engine created horrible smell, but it cooled it a little bit so it was good.
natural AdBlue

You can import from Latam.

A commie prototype of FSM Beskid from 1982. IT sadly never went into production, political issues are quoted. So thanks communism I guess.

It was supposedly really good for something made behind the curtain, the bodywork had great areodynamic properties. 600cc engine sounds to small, but that's what FIAT 126p (the car that Beskid was supposed to replace) used.

Sorry not so familiar with american sports car
only goes with european or jdm
wish you luck

I'd drive that

Huh. I know that Japan uses 660cc engines in their Kei vehicles, so it must be usable enough for at least commuting and such.

>Japan uses 660cc engines in their Kei vehicle
There's a massive difference between modern 600cc engines and a communist 600cc engine from the 80s which are somewhat on par of a western 600cc engine from the 60s/70s

It had around 28 horsepower, even modern diesel naturally aspirated! motorcycle engines of similar displacement produce more.

Some dude back in highschool drove one to school
We pushed it on the roof
Fun times

The truck in my post produces 27 hp. I totally believe you that the communist era engines weren't on par with modern stuff though.

Half the threads are rednecks trashing tesla

MERCI TWINGO

If It ever went into production I'm sure they would experiment with putting turbo on that thing but that would greatly increase the complexity of the engine.
Communists built stuff so you could fix it yourself.

Polish automotive industry had a number of weird quirks. FSO Syrena's engine S15 unit was from a pump.

and every cylinder had it's own coil

Reminds me of that Wheeler Dealers episode.

yeah, it was pretty cringey what they did to it. It definitely did not deserve being painted like they did.

Yeah, but the original color wasn't gr8 either.

nah, the reason they can't import from Europe is the same as to why they can't import from here: different safety regulations here and there that means that you sometimes have to rebuild or re design the entire thing and have it certified and essentially pay twice the price the thing is worth
it doesn't apply to classics and on the US, a car over 25 is considered a classic

Well there a lots of foreigners who buys classic Kombis, Beetles and Pumas here with no sweat. Of course, they are over 25yo, but some of the "Last Edition" were exported with no modifications.

Merci Twingo!

Mosin have been a dead meme on /k/ for a while now. When you could get one for $75 it made sense. Now they're over $200 and you can get an AR-15 for $350. Most milsurp is dead or dying with little to no sign of coming back due to import restrictions.

Correct. /k/ hasn't been shit since 2011, before the 2012 Apocalypse and Sandy Hook shooting killed it. Even then, most nuggets were $120+.

I remember back in 2008 when we were getting nuggets for $80 and 440rd spam cans for $20 all day every day.

Honestly, I blame /k/.

The gap of the horribly aligned headlight drives me crazy

It's taken from another existing vehicle (they're perfectly rectangular).
It was just a prototype/proof of concept, the taillights aren't matched either.
It's a miracle 6 of them survived, communists had this weird concept of destroying prototypes.

>I remember back in 2008 when we were getting nuggets for $80 and 440rd spam cans for $20 all day every day.
A rifle for the price of a decent pair of shoes. America sure sounds like a fun place.

Fuck the Twingo give me one of these
