>Welcome to Late Show I'm your host Stephen Colbert >This week, Donald Trump... *audience booes* >... has announced [last news] *audience chuckles* >that's funny because [joke on Trump's body] *audience erupts in jeers and applauses* *Jon Batiste plays random notes*
Or 0 years if you're an intelligent person who doesn't watch late night comedy shows.
Angel Roberts
People still watch Comedy Central tv shows?
Dominic King
Is there anything lazier than political "comedy"?

I'd make a guess as to how many more years of this it's going to be, but honestly I'm sure Sup Forums will find a worse form of shitposting soon

They might as well have given it to Jon Stewart. He would have been funnier considering all Stephen seems to want to do is the "I Hate Trump" shtick.
Mason Sanders
And nobody watches him there either.
Jaxon Russell
It's funny, because I actually got on the Trump Train after I saw him interviewed on the Late Show. Thanks Stephen

bush was hilarious, even conservatives will admit this
obama was never a great comedy target. he's too guarded, too much finesse politically to make easy jokes about.
Sebastian Mitchell
I guess that's the one good thing that might come out of this is them doing their fucking job and speaking truth to power - no more of the endless "Can you be my cool black friend, Obama?" bullshit
Logan Robinson
It's not gonna be 8 years because Colbert is going to lose his show soon
I'd be willing to give up a testicle is he went back to the Colbert Report but there's almost no chance of that happening now. CR was a top tier show.
Cooper Butler
poor people being so fucking fat is one of the greatest ironies of the modern era
Henry Watson
And yes, I'm aware the "speaking truth to power" line is gay as fuck
Dominic Fisher
You know why only Nixon could go to China? He was inoculated from the zeitgeist. The party generally expected to do something can never do that thing, but they can do the opposite with impunity. Not that that mechanism matters anymore. They've cowed you idiots into a hole so deep anyone can do anything now. You're all just human offal that are controlled by mathematical algorithms.

Poor and working class people tend to eat unhealthy.
Mexico's population is fatter than America's. When we send our business to Mexico we are not sending the best. We are sending fast food and junk food. In addition to slave labor factories.

I told myself it couldn't get any worse once Baneposting was over a year old.
Part of me thinks it can't get any worse than now, but I know deep down Sup Forums will find something even worse than cucking.

Fuck I miss that guy.
I've never seen someone who could trigger a board so easily without ever changing the formula.
Camden Moore
>ignore or outright apologetics for what he's doing
Like fixing the economy, brokering deals with countries like Cuba and Iran in attempt to normalize relationships and be diplomatic again? Obama's gotten flak for shit like droning, NSA shenanigans, failing to get Gitmo closed, but the good tends to outweigh the bad. That's why he actually has a pretty good approval rating, unlike Trump who isn't in office yet.
Julian Howard
I really miss Letterman making fun of giant rats in NYC. Sure, easy joke. But less polarizing.
Also, as unpopular as this sounds, do miss Kilborn's low-key show.

Kilborn was awesome. Super comfy.

The media gave Obama a pass on Solyndra, the IRS targeting conservatives, fast and furious, Benghazi. seizing AP reporter phone records, spying on James Rosen, and I'm sure I'm forgetting more. We have no business dealing with the tyrants in Cuba or giving billion of dollars to Iran in the most shady fucking way possible and then lying about it for no reason.

Anyone else remember how when Obama was running for his first term the media kept portraying him as athletic? Then eventually the facade fell apart when videos leaked of him lifting weights like a homo and awkwardly trying to play basketball. I despise how complicit the media is with Democrats. They build a story and people buy it.
According to Trump college exams he has almost a 160 IQ and could use those exams to join Menza right now but everybody thinks he's an idiot because that's what the media wants people to think. Now every comedian is recycling their "Bush is dumb" jokes.
Joseph Edwards
>He's had a number of gaffes too
post them then, I want to see
Dylan Lopez
Why do you think Obama wanted to raise the minimum wage?
>I despise how complicit the media is with Democrats. They build a story and people buy it.
This is true with a lot of people. Too stupid to take a step back and look at the shit being presented to them. Failing to take an objective look at anything.....
>but everybody thinks he's an idiot because that's what the media wants people to think
.... and here's exhibit A. I didn't even like Bush and still thought those bush is dumb jokes were cringe-fuel because he's one of our country's elected leaders. If he's dumb then everybody else is terminally weapons-grade retarded for letting him up there in the first place. It takes at least some intelligence and social skills to manipulate a bunch of morons to put you in office.
Juan Brooks

Nicholas Cox
The only president who had a higher IQ than Trump was John Adams. And man, did Trump put his intelligence to use. The way he played the media was a god damn spectacle to witness
Nathan Hughes
Some of those are legitimate gaffes but a lot of them are Bush trying to play himself up as a down-to-earth country boy (even though he's from Connecticut).
Austin Hernandez
To kill even more jobs and raise the cost of living?
Adam Campbell
There's no need to bring in real world consequences while discussing the minimum wage. It's all about feels and it sure would feel nice to have a larger number on my paycheck even though it would be worth less. You only oppose a minimum wage increase because you're greedy anyways.
Jaxon Cook
>We have no business dealing with the tyrants in Cuba Yeah you're right we should only be friends with tyrannical regimes in East Asia, SE Asia, and the middle East.
Conservashits really need to get their off high horse about Cuba, and quick.

I'm 28 and haven't seen a "comedy" late night show since the early 2000s, I think. I only check some Conan YT clips here and there. What's up with you Muricans and your shitty "comedians", why do they occupy such important place in your public space?

Henry Cox
Why is China the world's sweatshop if state executions because reasons are such a horrible thing?
I'm not going to defend Cuba but Republicans really shouldn't single it out for being repressive either.
Nathaniel Nelson
China is the worlds sweatshop because of free trade and their lack of moral qualms about treating their people that way. In case you haven't been paying attention the US just elected somebody that's very hostile to free trade and has singled out China specifically for tariffs. The Republicans are unifying under the message of no free trade with countries that don't live up to our standards because it's not fair trade.
Hudson Young
>I'm not going to defend Cuba but Republicans really shouldn't single it out for being repressive either.
The left is in love with Cuba why exactly shouldn't Republicans single them out?
Nicholas Rodriguez
So what's the alternative, make people have multiple minimum wage jobs just to make ends meet? The market clearly isn't doing anything but stomping wages down for majority of the country, while pumping money to the owners of the businesses.
Oliver Williams
Because the United States deals with repressive and murderous regimes as long as its profitable for them, singling Cuba out for this is dishonest.
Nolan Torres
Trump doesn't give a fuck about China's human rights record nor do people who voted for him, if this is what you are implying.
Carson Butler
We need to deregulate the economy and foster a space that will actually attract jobs either from other countries or through entrepreneurship. When there is a surplus of jobs the competition between businesses over workers is increased and this drives wages and benefits up.
By increasing the minimum wage all you're doing is increasing the cost to do business and decreasing the value of the dollar.
Jacob Johnson
>gringo comedy Not even once

How did it all go so wrong?
Elijah Russell
So we should start opening up Bangladesh tier sweatshops again?
Elijah Cruz
That game is fucking impossible
Christopher Jones
I'm not talking about no rules at all, just relaxed rules, and maybe lower taxes. To start we could repeal the 20,000 regulations that Obama has implemented in his 8 years that cost US business over 100 billion dollars annually. Instead of that money going to people it goes toward complying with useless regulations that only serve to raise the barrier of entry for new business and enterprise.
Samuel Butler
>We need to deregulate the economy and foster a space that will actually attract jobs either from other countries or through entrepreneurship
Oh, you mean just like in the 90s and late 00s, when Republican boner for deregulation just fucked people over by tanking the economy, only making the wealthy rich in the process?
Jaxson Evans
I remember a time of economic prosperity in the 90's. When I was 16 I had multiple businesses calling to get me to work for them. I wonder why that is?
Chase Smith
That was during Clinton's era.

Oh yeah he was a great economic president that totally wasn't living off of Reagan policy. That explains why when Clinton took office the GDP growth rate was 4.3% but when he left it was 2.8%. It's funny how at first you tried to use the 90's as an example of bad Republican policy until you realized things were actually pretty swell, then they became good because a Democrat was in office.
