2016 was a horrible year, 2015 is so much better.

Still waiting to see Manchester by the Sea, Personal Shopper & Hacksaw

Blew me away, was honestly not expecting it to be that tense. Was on the edge of my seat and once you realize where it's going it absolutely delivers.

Yeah what the fuck? I've already seen movies that came out after 11.11

>buzzword reply spam
>can't even name his favorite films
my guess is you don't even watch films, not even blockbusters

and yes your ilk is the cancer of this board

10 cloverfield lane
into the inferno

Prolly last one going to be LaLaLand / Passengers / Star wars one of those three excited for all of them.

Its been a great year if you watched the right stuff from tv

"Stand down"

Ridiculous horse shit

Crowe and goose attempting to be funny and failing.

1. Shin Godzilla

Everything else is pretentious garbage.

woah forgot passengers is coming out this month

t. Hill Shill

Imagine if the movie was actually about the siege istsead of wasting our fucking time with an hour of pointless dudebro horseshit about family.

If you're going to spend half your fucking movie exploring these characters it should probably give us more then GI Joe stereotypes.

Confirmed for faggot libkek. That's what they are, you can check any of the interviews the actual guys have given out.

Swiss Army Man
La La Land
Everybody Wants Some!!
Midnight Special
Neon Demon

I'm only doing 5 because i half-ass everything in life

> That's what they are, you can check any of the interviews the actual guys have given out.

I don't care, it's the job of the filmmaker to either make them interesting or focus on something beyond that that can make the movie compelling.

If it had been a tight 90 minute movie just about the siege, they would have been fine because the character work would have to take a back seat by design. There's a reason Assault on Precinct 13 isn't 2.5 hours long, the bloat in 13 Hours was unforgivable.

1. “Little Sister” (Zach Clark)
2. “Moonlight” (Barry Jenkins)
3. “Sully” (Clint Eastwood)
4. “Viktoria” (Maya Vitkova)
5. “Love & Friendship” (Whit Stillman)
6. “Men Go to Battle” (Zachary Treitz)
7. “Wiener-Dog” (Todd Solondz)
8. “Kate Plays Christine” (Robert Greene)

seeing Nocturnal Animals this week

So far.

Manchester by the Sea
Green Room
Arrival
Captain America: Civil War
The Invitation
The Neon Demon
Hacksaw Ridge
Sing Street

Saw it last night and it looked as if Tom Ford watched No Country for Old Men while designing a fashion line. The pacing was awful, dialogue was poor and that abortion clinic scene was something I would expect from a daytime soap opera.

Arrival was boring and predictable

1. Green Room
2. Manchester by the sea
3. Arrival
4. Nocturnal Animals
5. The Nice Guys
6. La La Land
7. Hell or High Water
8. Batman v. Superman
9. Neon Demon
10. Aquarius

>5. The Nice Guys
>9. Deadpool
Fuck off.

>4. Midnight Special
Fuck off.

>4. Midnight Special
>5. Doctor Strange

Just kill me now

The Nice Guys is fucking trash homie.

it's not top 10 material, but Ryan Gosling is a great comedic actor, and his chemistry with Russel Crowe was good. i definitely enjoyed it - good movie to watch with friends.

1-10 - HELL OR HIGH WATER

The rest : fags.

Arrival
VVitch
BvS

That's it

>muh fart jokes

10 Cloverfield Lane

Hell Or High Water
Manchester by the Sea
The Handmaiden
The Nice Guys
Arrival
13th
DePalma
The Neon Demon

There are a bunch I still haven't seen, including Elle, Jackie, Paterson, La La Land and Toni Erdmann.

>1. Zootopia
It wasn't the best film by any technical metrics, but it was a paint by numbers plot that had an interesting enough setting and a song by a singer I like. It was just a fun watch and is easy enough on the eyes to rewatch. Reminds me of older Disney films in that regard.

>2. Kubo
I wish it were higher, but while it's just as visually stunning (if not moreso) than Zootopia given its medium, the plot disappointed a little too much.

I only saw two films that released this year.

The Invitation and VVitch are 2015.

Objectively WRONG

I also enjoyed The Wailing and Train to Busan.

>abbott is death process

Daily reminder that these are the only great movies to come out this year, and 10CL is pushing it. Everything else is good at best

Why does nobody like Captain Fantastic?

I've not seen it yet.

Only saw Zootopia (great) and Suicide Squad (meh....)

I Do want to see Hacksaw Ridge, La La Land, Silence (I'm getting serious "The Mission" vibes from it), Kubo, Your Name, and Manchester By the Sea.

Otherwise today's Hollywood just doesn't do it for me. Plus it doesn't help that it's basically become Disney-ville and the amount of critical circle-jerking, fan-circlejerking, and suffocating advertising for their films is a major turn-off for me.

And yes, I know I saw and enjoyed Zootopia. That was my exception for the year, and maybe going forward.

...

Warcraft

but Im a huge fantasy nerd

>Rank the movies
>YOU'VE SEEN
>THIS YEAR.

I don't post in these threads because I've only see a couple 2016 movies that are good. But if you actually do make a list its pretty inevitable that mediocre stuff gets in unless you go to a theatre literally every week and have an indie place as well.

Hell or Highwater was pretty good 7/10 or so. Tickled is a good docu so 6/10. And so on.

What's better?

1. Knight of Cups
2. The Wailing
3. Into the Inferno
4. Hacksaw Ridge
5. The Neon Demon

Why does this board have such garbage taste?

I don't want to pick a top ten pile of shits.

how the fuck do i get my hands on a copy of Moonlight?

Get out more.

Jungle Book
The Wailing
The VVitch
Captain Fantastic
Sing Street
Hell or High Water
Memepool
Hunt for the Wilderpeople
Moonlight
Arrival

10. The Lobster
9. Miss Hokusai
8. Sully
7. 13th
6. Hell or High Water
5. The Handmaiden
4. The Witch
3. Moonlight
2. La La Land
1. Manchester by the Sea

While I'm still thinking about it though, anyone got a copy of Fences? It, Jackie and Silence are the only Oscar-y flicks this year I've yet to see. Lion was pretty but meh, Nocturnal Animals suuuucked, Hacksaw Ridge was worse but with a genuinely brilliant middle 20 minutes and Loving was beautiful and understated but kind of forgettable.

The Alchemist Cookbook
Maudite Poutine
Don't Breathe
Baden Baden
Oh What a Wonderful Feeling

The VVitch is 2015.

Go to a movie theater.

All the lists in this thread are pretty bad desu.

You are anonymous, you don't have to pretend to enjoy those movies, bra

They are actually pretty good, check out some imo.

So do you just guys watch whatever RLM tells you to or?
These lists are embarassing. It's all the same shit over and over

how

Dunno, go to the cinema or torrent or something.

i dont have the names

There's a link with the names.

1. Events in a Cloud Chamber
2. The Dreamed Path

4. Starless Dreams
5. Tales of Two Who Dreamt
6. Crosscurrent
7. Fraud
8. The Intestine
9. The Illinois Parables
10. Traces, Fragments, Roots

Neon Demon was one of the worst films Ive ever seen. 0 substance.

>The VVitch is 2015.
not really.

while i dug the film, i wasn't as blow away as you and others who rank it so highly. same with Green Room. both were entertaining enough, but for the former, i found the latter half to suspend disbelief a bit too much, and the latter, i thought the third act to be a bit too silly even for a movie involving white supremacists and punks. to each their own, though.

Neon Demon is awful; pretends to be profound and artistic but really it's as shallow as the LA fashion world it's commenting on. It's pure self-indulgence.

T B H I don't think I've seen a good film this year. Still need to see Jungle Book, Hellcor Highwater & Rogue 1 though.
