i dont know any albums from an 8 year
Jordan Hall
There's nothing particularly special about those years. I thought it was just appropriate given the occasion
Joshua Collins

8 is my lucky number on the Chinese Zodiac.
2008: Nirvana - The Cocaine Days 1998: Zelda: Ocarina of Time 1988: Death Grips - Auychetre. 1978: Ew. Why would anyone like the 70s? People smoked so much, it ruined the entire planet. And plus, Led Zeppelin, the worst rock band of all time existed. If they could steal a riff from Nickelback, they would. 1968: Thom Yorke - Radiocradle 1958: Did Elvis make an album that year? I hope not. 1948 - 0: my music.
Tyler Taylor
>Beatles - White Album May I ask why?
That album is fillertastic.
Blake Mitchell
It's literally the best album ever made. I'm not sure we're going to have a meeting of the minds on this.
Caleb Reed
I guess not but that doesn't mean there's no value in discussing it.
Bungalow Bill, Yer Blues, Wild Honey Pie and Obladi Oblada are on that album, you know
Ryan Perez
Different guy but that would be my pick too.
Abbey road used to be my favorite but the white album has grown on me over time, I love "almost" every track on it (wild honey pie I'm looking at you) and though parts are definitely arguably more fillerish, and definitely less experimental, I come away extremely satisfied with it anyway
I love the variety
Camden Martin
Variety's good if you can pull it off and it doesn't seem padded. But there's just too much and it's paced terribly. The transition from Julia to Birthday causes me physical pain.
I know that was a side break on the LP. Doesn't help.
Alexander Morales
May not help but it sure as hell matters
Isaac Russell
I am as big a fan of The Beatles as ever there was, and I don't think s/t is a bad album as much as it just doesn't hold up to other '68 releases.
The Beatles in the latter third of their career were terribly flabby and this is a niggle in some cases, like Abbey Road, but they utterly obliterate the potential appeal of s/t and Let It Be.
I'm of the mind that Rubber Soul and A Hard Day's Night were their creative peaks for no other reason than their ability to streamline their powers into a cohesive and collected whole.
A Hard Day's Night is more or less the same genre, but the thing is as smooth a butter. Rubber Soul is more eclectic and ambitious but it's got a unifying theme that underpins it.
S/t can't separate the wheat from the chaff and doesn't have anyone editing their excesses.
Anthony Evans
To each their own. I like the flow of the album because it's both random in terms of "story" yet I feel the overall mood flow of the album is very apparent.
And, aside from the aforementioned WHP, I love every other track. Including the ones you mentioned in your other comment to the other guy.
