Sorta, but not nearly as blown out of proportion as in Murrica. There is a celebration with all graduates and their closest family, suits and dresses are worn, but no one arrives in a stretch limousine and most people don't have a "prom date". I can't imagine how much more awkward the whole ordeal would be if we weren't even allowed to drink, like the Americans. On my "prom" I walked home through a field into the sunrise at 5 AM with the last beer of many.

I had a good date to prom but was in love with one of my friends who was there with her boyfriend. Sad 2bh.
I wasn't a complete pussy though by the end of the summer she dumped him and hooked up with me and then we stopped talking :^)
