El-P and not Killer Mike?

hmph

You had me going there for a bit until I saw Tyler the Creator in the top 1000 then your list all went downhill from there

>Tyler, The Creator
even a fan knows that his appeal is not the rapping.

Why the fuck is MC Ride in this list? I'm a fan of Death Grips but cmon, MC Ride isn't that good at rapping. Also no MF DOOM.

>Hopsin at 12
Ok, so this is a joke list

Out of all the people I haven't heard yet, who should I start with? Just go down the list?

>MC Ren
>Never heard of him

Nigga you must be trolling ahahahahaha the absolute state of /nu/

Maybe you could enlighten me as to what songs and albums are good.

Have you ever heard of this band called NWA?

Jesus Christ

Tony Yayo is fucking shite and I like Thoughts of a predicate felon. I'd rather put freaking Obie Trice there even though that dude fell off ages ago.

Wow this is autistic

I've never listened to NWA before. I've listened to solo Dre, Ice Cube, and Easy E just because of friends. Also
>New rap fan here,
I only listen to stuff that friends recommend, I'm getting to all the classics as I go. I haven't been in the scene for very long. I thought I hated rap up until 1st year of college when something other than trap was being played. My high school was nothing but Waka Flocka, Keef, and other trash. I thought that's all rap was at the time.

Sucks to be so far behind, I look like a hybrid of an old man mixed with an autistic middle schooler.

>no MF Doom
>Ski Mask The Slump God over Danny Brown
>Eminem in the top 50
>no Killer Mike
>none of Brockhampton

Remainder of Wu-Tang Clan (core members not the affiliates)
The entire Three 6 Mafia
Big Lurch
Prodigy
Lil B (Unironically)
Yung Lean
Lil Ugly Mane
Mick Jenkins

Future
Young Thug

Seeing talentless hacks like Chief Keef and such unironically mentioned on these lists... huh. Makes me wanna completely write off the whole genre.

This is the type of list I would make if I was still 15

I really hope this is fucking bait

Eminem has made way too many shit projects for him to be in the top 50, let alone that high, Jay Z has skill in terms of flow, and Method Man has no business being above Ghostface

Nobody mentioning Black Thought?

>Tyler, The Creator as number 4
Remove yourself from this life.

I was thinking in terms of influence, underground rappers are always going to rank lower out of default, its pretty ambiguous to go on listing the top 50 rappers when it doesnt mention what we are ranking them for. Some are tied seeing as how closely affiliated they are and how similar they are (i.e tyler and earl, posdnuos and dave etc)

too many literal whos

Re-rank as personal favourites, first list is revolved around general influence:

1. MF DOOM
2. Chuck Inglish
3. Action Bronson
4. Posdnous
5. Notorious BIG
6. Andre 3000
7. Jim Jones
8. Big Daddy Kane
9. Mos Def
10. Nas
11. Big Pun
12. Anderson Paak
13. MED
14. Pusha T
15. Kanye West
16. Scarface
17. Earl Sweatshirt
18. J Dilla
19. Capital Steez
20. ASAP Rocky
21. Danny Brown
22. Kendrick Lamar
23. RZA
24. GZA

Good to see some El-P here but that's probably because you faggots used to play tony hawk underground.

...

>And then people disagreeing OP's opinions and they fighting of which opinons are ""right"" and taking the bait
I really like this thread

>no immortal technique
Your retarded. IT raps about real shit, stuff that a child like you cold never understand.

>Good to see some El-P here but that's probably because you faggots used to play tony hawk underground.
it's because of Run the Jewels you bellend

Gayyyyyyyy

>Dr. Dre above Cube, Ren, Jay-Z, Method Man, Rakim and Raekwon.

He's probably the GOAT producer in general, but fucking lol. That (admittedly amazing) verse on 100 Miles And Runnin' was his only good moment as a rapper.

Why does Chuck D never make it onto these lists? His style is pretty simple compared to how complex and technical rapping later became, but fewer artists have influenced the genre the way he did. Plus he has a very distinctive style that not many could replicate.

Express Yourself is a great song, he had some decent verses on The Chronic and 2001 too

Cause people aint educated enough
