Malice Mizer produced some of the best goth rock/darkwave I've ever heard.
Didn't like Mana's post-Mizer stuff much, but Kozi's solo is good.

Snes sounds like an utter piece of shit compared to its contemporaries
Rondo of Blood destroys any SNES Castlevania osts.

Plz recommend more Pc engine awesomeness though
Fuck off with this youtubecore. Everyone's heard this alrady.
too bad she became a meme
Shes unpretentious pop whomst actually good; so its still alright to ironically like her, even if shes an overused meme.
unironically*
Dude, I said too bad she became a meme because she's fun
Such a great jpop trance album. Too bad it hasn't been topped by the other Ayu Trance albums, although the fourth one is pretty good.

What's with all these people who'll screech about city pop to the ends of the earth while at the same time rolling their eyes at Boz Scaggs or Ambrosia or The Doobie Brothers?
Ling Tosite Sigure
Number Girl
The YATSUZAKI HARDCORE series
FOR YOU (Tatsuro Yamashita) is a great album, and Mignonne (Takeo Ohnuki) is a great album but I never really listened to other stuff in full. The music is good, but not being able to sing along is annoying.
Yukiko Okada was phenomenal.
SNES can sound really amazing too, it all comes down to who was the composer/sound engineer, rather to what the system was.
I personally prefer some of the Dracula X (SNES) versions of the Rondo songs, even though it's not redbook audio, the arrangements and synths used I prefer on SNES, for example:
youtube.com
I like the PC Engine version a lot, but I just think Konami Kukeiha Club arranged the SNES version better.
エスプレッソ is my jam.
My favorites are Supercar, Dir en Grey, Spangle Call Lilli Line, Melt-Banana, Ling Toshite Sigure, and Deerhoof I think.
I only ever see Melt-Banana talked about though, and only sometimes.
Supercar is beautiful.
Wow this is great, any other trance gems you recommend?
"Trance X" is a mixed bag, but it has some really good stuff like this one

Is there any music that feels like giving headpats to a floofy gal such as Ukyo or Shampoo?
I like anything with Gackt in it.
Even The FRIED CHICKENz?
youtube.com
Malice Mizer was good though, and I like his first album and then a some loose songs from his later albums.
He did that cool cover of Kizu dakare no Lola with the guitarist from Kinniku shoujo tai though.

Casiopea got me into fusion and made me discover the wonders of japjazz (PE'Z, S&PS, Indigo JU)
They're incredibly full of energy

Can you PLEASE stop avatarfagging, it's obnoxious!
No
Look, I get it, you don't care about the rules, but some people here do!
i love to dig this shit
rateyourmusic.com
you don't
you're just mad that people are sharing pictures of very cute anime girls from the best decade because you're a Sup Forumsirgin with an inferiority complex.
Not an argument, Avatarfagging is against the rules, read up on it
Kpopfagging is also against the rules, why aren't you mad about that.
I am just as mad and wish those would stop as well!
Phew
listen to Maki Nomiya's first solo album
check'd
I can't believe there's someone else in the world that also listens to Ayu remix albums I'm not the only one ;_;
Capsule is my ultimate fave.
dude Ayumi Hamasaki was one of the top Jpop stars in the late 90s and early 00s.
Here goes the list of japanese albums and songs I like:
City Pop:
> Kaoru Akimoto - Cologne (album)
> Junko Yagami - Full Moon (album)
> Junko Yagami - COMMUNICATION (album)
> Mariya Takeuchi - Plastic Love (song)
> Mai Yamane - Tasogare (song)
Psychedelic folk-jazz-something (in other words, 70's-ish music from the 70's. Duh)
> Hako Yamasaki - Tobimasu (album)
> Hako Yamasaki - Tsunawatari (album)
> Yoshiko Sai - Mangekyou (album)
more like this?
I'm a big fan of both Hako Yamasaki and Junko Yagami.

I'm surprised there's not many fans (if any) of Urbangrade. They're one of the most interesting technopop bands I've heard in recent years.

This brings back memories, it was one of the first japanese punk bands I remember listening to.
They got back together recently.
I think they released a single last year.

I fucking love Casiopea. Such a tight band.
Ippu-Do
YouTube is being a cunt so no samples, sorry
I can't think of anything that sounds like Hirasawa. His guitar style borrow seems to heavily from Robert Fripp though
