Brockhampton is really just a trend. Everything about the group kinda screams what I hate about people. Music wise I don't have much against them. It's just...as people they just really bug me. It's mainly because of Kevin Abstract's recent "Look at me! I'm gay give me attention!" kinda personality. Then you have people calling out Ameer Vann for basically rapping about the same kinda shit on many tracks in the same kinda flow. But instead of trying to switch it up, he acknowledges it, and just keeps doing the same shit. You have the Merlyn Wood dude who's just annoying as fuck on tracks, and I think that's the point of him so I kinda look the other way, but it doesn't help that the fanbase just makes a meme of him and Merlyn as a meme is starting to become something you see everywhere. I get that Brockhampton is supposed to be a "boy band" but to me that's their biggest detriment because everyone tries so hard to fit into their boy band stereotype and it's just wack/fake as all fuck.
Also the use of autotune in some tracks for no reason is annoying as fuck and more often then not ruins any enjoyment I could possibly get from those tracks.
Brockhampton is a trend/fad that I hope either switches their shit up, or just dies out. And I kinda hope their fanbase of corny ass suburban white kids who try to act like they know anything about hip-hop fucks off forever. I'm so tired of them spewing that "BH has the best three album run in hip-hop!" bullshit.
