Charthony Fantano

not that into metal, but Frank Zappa's pretty good

very good chart, though i'm really a fan of soundtracks outside their intended context

don't really dislike anything in particular here but your overall taste seems pretty erratic and disjointed

>tfw you decide on Webbie's Savage Life 2 as the designated car CD for the day and all you end up doing is replaying Six 12's and Independent for the entire hour and a half round trip to work.

How do you feel about Herbie Hancock's other WB albums--Mwandishi and Crossings, do you like them or are those too free (aka not funky enough) for you? Just trying to start convo.

would probably not dislike hanging out with you.

>How do you feel about Herbie Hancock's other WB albums--Mwandishi and Crossings, do you like them or are those too free (aka not funky enough) for you? Just trying to start convo.
Good question.
I loved Fat Albert on first listen but it took me a while to get into the other 2 records and sextant.

Mwandishi I liked quite a bit on first listen since it was the most 'normal' of the 3, and I still enjoy it quite a bit.

Crossings has always been my least favorite of the trilogy. The first track was amazing but Quasar and Water Torture I don't get too much enjoyment out of. Very front-loaded that's for sure.

Sextant I hated on first listens but god damn did the opening track grow on me. Hidden Shadows is a great funk jam, and the last track was pretty good but my least favorite mainly because it had a fucking kazoo.

Sneaker Pimps! :)
Nick Garrie - Nightmare of JB Stanislas
I'm just going to second Stone Roses. Or maybe The Cribs. Johnny Marr did an album with them and they're influenced by Beat Happening.
I always love seeing 666 on charts. Inside the Shadow by Anonymous
Hint - Portakabin Fever. Or Lemongrass. or UNKLE.
Just want to say this is a cool chart and leave it at that.
The Exploding Hearts - Guitar Romantic.
Murderdolls - Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls. Also, cool chart.
Another cool chart and some good recs. Wish I could think of something.
Ride - Nowhere. Or Lush.
Just check out the stuff I rec'd above.

Holy shit my brother, great recommendations. That Boredoms album is E L I T E

>Just want to say this is a cool chart and leave it at that.
Thanks friend, you too.
Lots of good picks here.
Have you heard any of Stevie's full albums?

Props on being the only person to be able to sit through more than two seconds of Kero Kero Bonito

Just Songs in the Key of Life. Where should I go from there?

I think you'd be quite fond of his golden period (Talking Book, Innervisions, Fufillingness' First Finale, Music of My Mind, Where I'm Coming From)

Though I think he has a few really underrated albums in the 60s. He has 2 really good instrumental albums (Jazz Soul and eivetS rednoW) and he also had My Cherie Amour and Down to Earth which were just as strong.

brian? lol
check out dj screw - june 27

June 27 one of DJ Screw's best mixes imo, def worth checking out
