Magic is real in the MCU

>magic is real in the MCU
>somehow they need anyone other that this OP son of a bitch to protect the Earth
why the fuck do they need a fit dude and a man in a papermache armor if this guy can fuck with space, time and the laws of physics?
this is why cinematic universes are garbage

>training for a week

Quality writting

he is busy fucking yourmammu

.

if Doctor Strange is so powerful, why isn't he as well-known irl as Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, etc.?

>Still no movie with Dr. Doom.

Does this movie take place during the events of Iron Man 2? There was a scene where someone was offering Strange some unusual cases to work on ad one of them was a Colonel who had his spine fucked up in a malfunctioning experimental armoured suit, which is what we saw happening during the court scene in IM2.

Fox have doom

It was about Warmachine who broke his back when Vision knocked him out of the sky in Civil War

He is busy year round with mystical threats.

DOOM is a better sorcerer anyhow

Aaah, I forgot about that.

He was already gifted and dedicated when he started

Which put him ahead of the random runaways who started their training

It's the difference between teaching a teen how to draw and teaching an amazing chef how to draw. One is just new, the other has the patience and hand skill that might be able to reapply.

The fuck you're complaining about? He was a dinamo.

People can't identify with talented surgeon. But weakling who dreams of being musclehead or a bullied nerd? Just like your average viewer. Give them powers and they can live their dreams through Cap or Spidey.

You a retarded.

War Machine.

Because Doctor Strange is literally 2deep4u.
They had to nerf him a lot in the film and change the lore because the average moviegoer is dumber than people who read comic books.

high level magic will fuck your shit up just as much as help you. it was explained in the movie several times.

isn't that Iron Man???

>Magic suddenly exists in the MU
>no effects of it previously had ever been seen
>Dr Strange learns magic in a week and outdoes everyone else when it comes to magic
>not only that, but also martial arts - the previous guardian they had, guarding the sanctum sanctorum in new york got killed easily, but then dr strange single handedly outfights 3 people including Kaecilius.

quality writing

the mcu is garbage
zero fucking consistency

The details don't add up. It wasn't War Machine. 35yo Marine Colonel. Rhodes is in the Air Force and isn't 35yo.

Also, Kevin Feige when asked about the cases that Dr. Strange was pitched before his car crash.

>The executive/producer was asked how much Wikipedia research we should be doing into the three cases that Strange is pitched. Laughing, Feige replied, "Not much. Not much. They're just bits of fun. Just little fun things."

So, I'm going to go ahead and say no. Its most likely a stab at Hammer and the countless soldiers who probably got injuries because of his experimental armors.

>Magic suddenly exists in the MCU
>No effects of it previously had ever been seen

Magic has always been there. Either way you could make the argument that most of the time they either fight in seclusion or in the mirror dimension where regular people can't see it. Also, none of the characters before Doctor Strange have come across magic. The only one you could say is well, Daredevil to a certain extent.

>Dr Strange learns magic in a week and outdoes everyone else when it comes to magic

I think its implied that more than a week passed. By Doctor Strange's hair getting more gray as the movie moves along. It be stupid to think it was only a week's time between Strange getting there and Kaecilius attacking. I will admit the movie doesn't do a very good job of letting us know the passage of time.

>not only that, but also martial arts - the previous guardian they had, guarding the sanctum sanctorum in new york got killed easily, but then dr strange single handedly outfights 3 people including Kaecilius.

Well, it wouldn't make a very long movie if Doctor Strange died. Plus he outsmarted the lackies and got saved by the Cloak of Levitation helping him subdue Kaecilius.

Because he hasn't had a hit movie until now. Before MCU he was probably more famous then Ironman and Cap in the comicverse.

>no effects of it previously had ever been seen
Because the sorcerors don't deal with material threats.
>learns magic in a week
No timeframe was given, he did learn fast, though.
>but then dr strange single handedly outfights 3 people including Kaecilius
>single handedly outfights 3 people
>martial arts
>sent one to the fucking desert in the middle of Bumfuck Nowhere using his enemy's spell against them
>magic cape pretty much did the rest
>martial arts

>Yourmammu, I've come to banging

lolno

Actually this movie takes place during and most likely before the events of Spider-man 2.

How else would JJ know about him?

bump

According to the comics, its because Dr. Strange is busy saving the dimension from Lovecraftian horrors on a weekly basis.

>teens can't be amazing chefs

he was training for years the film just did a bad job of portraying that.

You have the power inflation problem in the comics too. They've made it even more explicit in the media I think.

TV SHOW TIER / STREET THUG
Daredevil, Punisher, they beat up bad guys, mob bosses, fight crime syndicates.

FIRST ARC MOVIES / SUPERPOWER VILLAINS
Iron Man, Captain America, (X-Men) they beat up space aliens and superpowered enemies because they're superpowered themselves.

SECOND ARC MOVIES / GALACTIC FOES
Dr Strange, Vision, (Fantastic Four) they fight transdimensional monsters or galactic enemies.

It's a general problem because you have such vast power differences and characters that are supposed to go from fighting someone with their fists to fighting someone who can reduce people to ash with a thought. It's comic book logic and it looks worse the more real it gets, which is why it hurts even more to watch it in movies.

The latest X-Men movie had this glaring inconsistency of a villain who reduced people to sand.. but for some reason he had to punch the X-men. And mentally fight Xavier. Why didn't he just turn them to dust. Nothing in the story protected them or negated this.

It'll be a problem later when Iron Man is supposed to fight Thanatos. Unless they set up some kind of limitation in the story. Which I honestly doubt.

You're correct. If it was War machine then it would meant Dr Strange is set in the future of Civil War since his training took so much and Marvel just can't have that. It's clear that the ending of the movie is closer to the ending of Civil War.

> Movie establishes you need to be able to perfectly visualize the place you wanna go for the portal to open
> Proceeds to completely ignore this when the movie needs Strange to go to Hong Kong for the final battle even though he's never been there before and there's no way for him to be able to visualize the exact area Kaecillius would be at

And this shit has 90% on RT?

Definitely. When I was getting into comics, way before any mcu movies, I discovered Doctor Strange long before Captain America or even Iron Man. Id say if not for the MCU, Spider-Man and the X-men were the most popular comic book characters since theyve had tv shows since the 90s.
