General Chart Thread

We post our charts and others say some nice or rude things about it and rate it out of 10.

I love the color coding so I love you.
1000/10.

Have you heard Handsomeboy Technique? Pretty cool artist that reminded me of the Avalanches.

i dislike color coded charts because they're not in order of preference, and the order of certain records on a chart determines the kind of recs i give. but i'll admit they look nice

And I’d prefer you put fucking pants on your weird looking avatars but we can’t all get what we want now can we?

i like the aesthetic and albums

famous boyfriend - s/t

aesthetically pleasing but meh taste
listen to some frank ocean or something
Clever Girl - No Drum and Bass in the Jazz Room
Pavement - Wowee Zowee

That’s neat.

...

i already know my taste is vastly superior to anyone else on this board

>Akufen
>The Orb
>Luomo
>Basic Channel

Gimme some recs pls I like your chart

Well when you think that you gotta post your chart to back it up.

I’m curious.
I was the second chart (the 1/10). Why was I rated so low?

hey j, appreciate the luv

Anyone wanna help a pleb out?

I know it's a mess, would appreciate some recs

lol look at this thing

...

...

Your taste is shit, you like Magnetic fields and Moonshake. Stop trying to act above everyone else.
You seem to like industrial. Listen to all of Throbbing Gristle's other works.
Lurk more

you really try to call my taste shit after posting that? laughable

Attacking me is going to do nothing, I still think you have shit taste. So how about instead of attacking me, you defend the two bands I called out by saying why you like their albums?

...

Looks nice, but kinda boring 6/10

Not the biggest fan of those albums, sorry

I like the Kinsella stuff and Arthur Russell, but not much else

Yr chart makes me angry to look at

Great chart 7/10

Already listened to most TG's work but honestly some of it falls flat. 20JFG and 2nd Annual Report are by far my favorites.

By the way, I recc you:
Maurizio Bianchi - Gene-P
Stars of the Lid - The Tired Sounds of Stars of the Lid
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Juju

>Not the biggest fan of those albums,

I'm sorry dude. I recognize that they're good albums, but I just don't really enjoy listening to most of them t bh. Just not in the kinda niche I've dug out for myself. You do u tho. Not sure how much you'd like it, but check out some Jason Molina stuff like Sojourner. Hope u have a good day

You're too nice for me to be mad at you. Not a fan of 70s stuff I'm figuring.

Only ones I recognized off your chart was Pink Moon and Residents and I hated them.

>angry to look at
is it cause of the avatars?

St Vincent - s/t
Nice aesthetic

Blonde redhead - misery is a butterfly (listened to it today for the first time and fucking blew me away, is going into my chart soon)

Bruce Springsteen - Darkness on the Edge of Town

More that I'm into more low-key subdued kinda stuff. Mellow feelings. I like a decent amount of 70's folk and krautrock

Yes

Thx for the rec, already love that Low album. Some of the best slowcore and only barely didn't make it on the chart
Duster - Testphase Tape One

Another great rec. still psyched Igot a pretty cheap copy ~2 months ago

I have basic taste

Bruce Springsteen - Darkness on the Edge of Town

I am looking at buying a copy of Abyss from her website. I have seen some sub $20 copies of Apokalypsis floating around the internet. Most likely will have her entire discography on vinyl before the end of 2018.

Entry level basic fuck coming through

Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Black Star

This is really enjoyable. Thanks for the recommend man.

Don’t worry about it there’s some good albums here

The taxpayers - god forgive these bastards
A$AP ferg - trap lord

Also Bauhaus - in the flat field

already listened to Emergency & I and Animals but i'll make sure to check out the rest sometime

I don't have a proper chart, but this is every album I've listened to today :^)

Lookin for some mathy angry shit, electronic or not, and sum metal. Anything else is fine too though. Not really learned enough to rec

Whitehouse is about as angry as it gets as far as I know.
If you like Obituary, Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness and Pestilence - Consuming Impulse
Refused - Shape of Punk to Come might be up your alley but I don't have enough "mathy shit" under my belt
Porter Robinson - Worlds
Reminds me of younger me and I loved Worlds
Andrew Jackson Jihad and Bruce make me want to recommend Mountain Goats - All Hail West Texas and Transcendental Youth
Violet Cold - Anomie
Every maudlin of the well fan I know (sample size of two, admittedly) loves Cormorant - Metazoa

THAT'S the Ghost album you pick?

Yeah, it's the one I like the most. Which one's yours?

The first one duh

>i already know my taste is vastly superior to anyone else on this board

Holy shit

Listen to Deanblunt
Prefiero El Naranja - Suso Saiz

>me listening to American Football
Why does it hit me so hard lads.

Any more like this?

If the lyrics aren't as important to you as the general mood of the instrumentals, then check out
Chinese Football - S/T (imo better than AF)
toe - the book about my idle plot on a vague anxiety
If lyrics are important, then listen to
Empire! Empire! I Was A Lonely Estate - What It Takes To Move Forward
The Brave Little Abacus - Just Got Back From The Discomfort, We're Alright

pat metheny u stupid dunce

Good shit.
Do you like Station to Station?

Nice, some similar choices to mine.
I would rec some John Maus if you haven't already.

Candy Claws - Ceres & Calypso in the Deep Time
Janelle Monae - The ArchAndroid

Bumping so thread dont die

How nice of you, user, especially since you have a lot of things I need/want to listen to on there.
Cormorant and Giant Squid may be up your alley from all the more experimental metal stuff you have on there. Start witb their first and second LPs, respectively.
The Venetian Snares album here would probably also be up your alley
The couple prog rock albums make me think you may be interested in Van der Graaf Generator - The Least We Can Do Is Wave To Each Other

How'd Surf's Up wind up in the top ten over other Beach Boys albums? Sure it's good, I'd even say that Side B has the best run of songs in the discography. But Side A is just a complete trainwreck imo. Not even trying to hate, I'm just curious.

Good taste

Feed me recommendations, please.

Of course the 2deep4u guy doesn't post album names.

What's the name of the second one on the top from left to right? With the blue cover and the skull (?)

blackout - dreamworld

Thanks

the lounge lizards - the lounge lizards
a minor forest - flemish altruism
christoph da babalon - if you're into it, i'm out of it
slint - tweez
sexa - no sleep till pussy

>did you change your chart recently?
I had Flying Microtonal Banana in my top 10 for ages but Float Along - Fill Your Lungs replaced it recently, that might be why it looks different.

Janitor applications are now being accepted for the next ~48 hours. Apply here.

Ne Oblivscares makes me wanna rec Ved Buens Ende to you

Also
>it’s a nobody responds to your chart thread

which one's yours

The only at least mildly interesting posts in this thread. Would hang out at least once.

Well I wouldn't hang with you weeaboo

Are city pop, techno-kayo and any 80s japanese music now exclusively weeb music?

Can you please recommend me more like Vacant - Trauma EP. I fucking loved that album. You just made my day.

yes

City pop is the epitome of weeb

>Satekoso

Nice. Acid Mt. Fuji - Susumu Yokota, maybe but that's techno.
False, that's Lolicore.

Candy Claws - Ceres and Calypso in the Deep Time Forever
Flatsound - Sleep

born in le wrong generation

Flying Saucer Attack - s/t
Ancestors - Of Sound Mind

I've been listening to Modest Mouse exclusively for like a month, I'd really forgotten how much I like them and their lyrics resonate me more now than when I was a kid
plus Jeremiah Green's drumming is really underrated
I'm not very good at the drums but I've always liked simpler playing that has nuance as opposed to stuff like cyborgs like Matt Gartska or Thomas Pridgen (although the true greats like Vinnie Coliuata or Dave Weckl could probably easily do shit like any drummer I like). Not to say that their playing doesn't have nuance (because it does), I'm just a simple man and can't entertain anything but simple ideas. Over the barline fills scare me. I'll admit it. Extrapolating on a rhythmic motif by inverting it, displacing it and playing it in different voicings with respect to the phrasing of the melodic elements of the song? Too much for me dude, just give me 4/4 on the floor. I'm fucking stupid.

What a bitch developing control on the drums is. I haven't played drums in like 9 months but I can still somehow play eighth notes at 220bpm on my left hand no problem but I'm struggling to play even 120bpm on my right. What the fuck!

Look, I wish I had friends. I haven't had any for 4 years. I'm in a depressive spiral that is probably going to result in suicide sooner rather than later and I desperately need other people's help and support.

It won't happen though.

I hope this post sounds ridiculous enough. Are we good enough? Is this a rack? I should work at the call center. Post Punks careers don't start without a shitty job in the biography of Your favorite artist (bonus points if they are still working it when they debut their LP)

How many trap geniuses do you have working at Arby's and Applebees with a loan taken out on their 2017 push to start sportscar (with 2 or 3 side hoes). Lots. Self imposed poverty (and excruciating amounts of debt) is crucial to artistic success

What are you talking about? Is this a rack?

If you see me at Built to Spill, please t

You’re good at writing. Please seek help though.

go outside and talk to someone

If I see you at a Built to Spill show I will talk to you

A good thread for good friends

Please go to a therapist user. I know it seems like a difficult choice but you can do it, I believe in you. I've been going trough depression and suicidal thoughs. It's not worth it to kill yourself. Please seek help.

dat 2nd row tho

while i agree that pet sounds is overall better, i personally enjoy surfs up more

Fantastic Planet ost is garb, sorry love. Incredible taste otherwise
