newfaggot
...
gen z shitter get out
I saw him live with Alva Noto and made such an impact I actually no longer feel like going to see live acts anymore, I feel like, if it isn't going to be as good as Sakamoto, I'm not bothering.
So fuck you, Ryuichi, for killing the fun of going to see shitty local acts.
What to say, the guy is a living legend.
there goes my respect for sakamoto
Came to post
Yukihiro and Hosono solo work are better than yours
get out
he makes too many fucking albums for me to listen to and scored that one fucked up christmas movie starring Bowie
he was in the movie, too
His work with Koji Ueno on The Wings of Honneamise's soundtrack is brilliant.
youtube.com
he's cute!! !
go away haruomi
he collabed with the goddess so he cool
Still looking for hq footage of the concert where he performed Tibetan Dance with a bunch of American funk artists and a soul singer
Hello.
Hi,Dave
Hosono maybe. Ryuichi is still relevant. Async was fucking awesome this year, and 1996 is a great album
i saw him in concert 15 years ago. was guest of the guy doing the lights so went back to the bar after and hung out. he was friendly and easy to talk to.
youtube.com
my fav album of his
youtube.com
such a different unique style, very R&B influenced. why is YMO and all the member's solo stuff so FUCKING GOOD?
im a huge kraftwerk fan , but I think now I really love ymo more, they never really had a considerable drop in quality in the albums, and their live act continued to evolve and mature.
also ymo live looks way better then kraftwerk live,
I don't see the point in recorded music anymore. It should be written down for performance only.
>Thousand Knives -> B-2 Unit -> Left-Handed Dream -> Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence
literally how can somebody come up with a four album streak that's as diverse and high-quality as that, not to mention simultaneously being in YMO during the streak
just got async as a birthday present, really looking forward to it
Goodbye, Mick.
David is a Clamp character
>Takahashi's solo career
>better than Sakamoto's
holy fucking kek
>hey Mac! come take a picture with ryuchi Sakamoto!
>oh haha who's he

async is 10/10
Why you do this to me?
Why would you willingly expose your ignorance in such a way?
mac is a huge sakamoto/hosono fan
Thank user
youtube.com
check it
nice
disgusting ignorance
Big fan of the rooch
he looks like an One Piece character
pretty sure he's a fan of him and Hosono. the Cover of 2 is a Hosono House reference
Wow. I wouldn't be proud of being such a pleb.
It's a good record but very sad.
Biggest libtard in Japanese music industry
Guy's activism is centered on things that actually matter, not western liberal bullshit.
+ Alva Noto is a godly project
Those guys fucking redefined comfy music for me
I wish I was half as cool.
go back to pol
this as fuck
His ex-wife is better piano player
(you)
im from gen z and ive listened to most of his work ;-;
do you want a medal for being a pleb my guy?
talented hack
He can create really cool melodies
he is basically a god
Great guy, a genius.
This is Kazumi Kobayashi (Kera). Say something about him. Anything.
never heard of him but hes cute
so about a month ago I listened to Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence on repeat for about 4 hours
he is pretty talented
Agreed. One of my favorite musicians of all time.
I prefer Akiko Yano and Yukihiro Takahasi's solo work more but he has some really good stuff. YMO is the band that got me into playing drums because of this live performance.
Why does he look like he was part of a new wave band in that picture
He's great but I like Takahashi and Hosono's solo stuff more.
YMO were inspired by new wave at that time.
Also great.
Never seen that picture of him, where is it from?
I love Uchoten.
From the Kera nagomu collection
excellent synth pop
pppfffffffffffffffffHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
p l e b
His energy on stage is unmatched.
Well, now that he's older he isn't as wild I guess.
too faggy for me
WAH-HA-HA
his wife is hot though
he was disturbingly skinny on that video
*deep sniff*
I never really noticed that, but it is a great song, and video.
I really like the musical direction these kind of bands pursed. I always found it really inspiring.
what is it called?
youtube.com
I wish I could speak japanese
My fav Phantom Thief :^)
Love the part at 1:45, the guitar reminds me of something Hackett would play on Gabriel-era Genesis.
By the way the whole VHS where that video is from (Vegetalism) is on nico nico on 2 parts.
This is Kyosuke Himuro. Say something about him. Anything.
I like Boowy
what do you reccomend from Genesis?
Foxtrot is a great album to start with them.
Or Selling England By The Pount, but I prefer Foxtrot.
The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway is my actual favorite but I didn't like it at first listen.
>Legendary Japanese rocker Kyosuke Himuro, member of seminal band Boowy, has joined forces with emo vocalist Gerard Way from the group My Chemical Romance
wat
He also did a cover of AFI's song "Miss Murder", I never understood how he went from post punk, new wave, no wave etc. to making songs with fucking Gerard Way.
Probably mid-life crisis.
This is Hideto Matsumoto and Hisashi Imai. Say something nice about them.
The only song I've listened to by Hide was tell me, it was pretty good, what are some albums you'd recommend? Buck tick is also pretty good but honestly they were better around 1983-1989
You can really start with any album, they're all good.
I think my favorite is Psyence, but Hide Your Face and Ja, zoo are also excellent. Also check out his western-based band Zilch's 3.2.1. album.
And yeah I agree, actually my favorite BT album is their first, Hurry Up Mode.
But they're still pretty consistent, don't think any of their albums is bad.
I'm tied between sexualxxxx and seventh heaven, though I like hurry up more too as well as a few unreleased songs they've sung live during the 80s. Did you know Boowy was a huge inspiration for Atsushi he was even a friend of Himuro back then, apparently the story goes that they were at an after party around 1983 and Himuro told Atsushi that he would make a good vocalist because he has a "good face".
Didn't know that
>he has a "good face"
That's a reasonable reason to become a vocalist, I guess. And it turned out Sakurai also has a great voice.
I don't know what Himuro meant by that I guess he was saying he was the most attractive looking member of the band so he should be the vocalist.
