Went to see this today. I didn't notice any kind of agenda. The girl isn't even the only protagonist and she needs the help of multiple male characters through all the movie, the only important black character is some crazy empire desertor who dies in a explosion and the rebels aren't even painted as saints, they feel more like terrorist that even kill inoccent people sometimes.
