bumping for similar curiousity

now we're cookin, i've never heard of ANY of these artists. thanks

and to be specific, i am wanting that celer kind of open arrangement, pads and no beats soundscape stuff. no scary stuff hopefully although a little is okay

diving in and october language is just what i was after this is dope

Yeah October Language is an absolute go to for anyone into Hecker
Lambent Material is kind of a mixed bag of Eluvium, it's his first album and his later stuff explores various ideas he starts with it. At the very least you should enjoy Zerthis Was A Shivering Human Image
A Winged Victory For The Sullen is my fav ambient album, it's half of SotL plus a pianist, if you enjoy it then you'll enjoy Bing & Ruth too
Yellow Swans is in the same vein as Hecker/Belong but noisier

Also you can always search rym/bancamp/whatever for ambient, I've been listening to the genre for well over a year now and I still find loads of new stuff every day, enjoy your journey user

oh also check out Jeffre Cantu-Ledesma - Love is a Stream
He's not my absolute fav but a lot of people swear by him and he's in that Belong/Hecker vein too

couple gorgeous ep's you must hear, linked my favorite track from each

The Dead Texan, it's a project of Adam Wiltzie from Stars of the Lid.

great thread everyone.

Does anyone here listen to ambient music in playlists, or does everyone just listen to full albums at a time?

I personally have 3 playlists for different "levels" of ambient: Psybient/beat, drone/distorted, and clean/minimal.

AWVFTS is literally my favourite album of the decade. I've probablt listened to it more than any other album.
