The musical themes of Remain In Light were absurdist. For example Crosseyed & Painless is about how facts often work against human interests and Seen And Not Seen is about how people shape their identities based on pop culture.
They're Dadaist at the very least because they defy musical conventions and don't take any moral or ideological position. But I'd say they're absurdist too because they start off as this chaotic noise rock band and evolve slowly towards the spacey tribalistic stuff they started doing at the turn of the century without having any obvious ethics or principles that would explain such an evolution.
