What’s a legit 10/10 noise album?
That depends. What kind of music do you listen to?
the best 'noise' album I've heard is Instruments Disorder by The Gerogerigegege
Have you heard 'Take Back Your Penis' by Hanatarash?
you bet
Hanatarash - Take Back Your Penis
mega.nz
That one and "Senzuri Power Up" are great albums. Although, they're not full on noise. If you want good like wall check out I, Residuum.

Do you maybe have Live At Hinoeuma?
By reading the pasta : pastebin.com
Bizarre Uproar - Unsafe & Insane is an excellent one & what I’d consider close to that. Maybe I have become the Disease That Made Me is a close second.
This is also a good choice tbqh
someone should tell rodger and joseph to make up and get along again, they were a great duo back in the day.
Thanks for the shares!
bizarre uproar + ride for revenge is one of my all-time personal fav collaborative efforts, check it out if you haven't

I didn't even know anyone here cared about noise music. Neat.
MACRONYMPHA. The greatest to ever do it. I envy anyone who got to seem either of their No Fun sets.
can someone enlighten me on this genre? what's the appeal? how do you judge good albums and bad
serious questions
have you ever rammed your fist in a vagina
how bad do you want to
>I didn't even know anyone here cared about noise music.
A few people do. We had a lot of active /noise/ threads in 2014, 2015 and part of 2016. But nowadays idiots who spam their shitty diginoise proyects and music theoryfags ruined those threads. There's always the guy who shitposts "noise is objectively not music" and it recieves lots of (you)s and attention rather than the good stuff that gets posted here. It's kinda sad.
same way you judge if any other music is good or bad... do you like the way it sounds/makes you feel/etc etc etc... i don't get what is so hard to understand about this.
have you ever heard a sound outside the context of music and thought "i like that sound"? or maybe listened to some music and thought something like "that's a sick guitar tone"... if you are capable of or drawn to thinking like this you should be able to enjoy noise.
Some dude uploaded one of my favorite noise CDs of the last decade onto Youtube a few days ago. Obligatory shit.

Heh, sounds about right considering the general quality of this board. From what I've seen the only Sup Forums threads that aren't shit are the general threads in which these sorts of people are either ignored or explicitly let known that they should fuck off.
While You Were Out - Kazumoto Endo
It's much like ambient really. Harsh noise for me is an effective form of escapism, it helps me to stop thinking as it demands most of my attention. Then there's the ethereal kind of noise which can be transcendental and puts you in peace. I judge albums by how they make me feel

This is a excellent noise track, I can't get tired of it. Can anyone give me any recs of something similar? (obv LRD but other than them)
Don’t forget the “poser” meme & the idiots who thought they were “better fans” for knowing lesser known projects. The weird elitism that hit 2016 was insufferable, considering that this general is 99% user.
I definitely will, thank you. BU is one of those artists who’s work I have heard I definitely respect & like, but never invested the time into right before I left, so this will be a treat.

this has always bothered me.
to be honest it completely put me off the scene, and i've been following it for nearly 10 years.
to be honest you need to have a very high IQ to understand noise
To be honest I do understand people who get frustrated with constantly having to humor the same stupid questions, I understand the impulse for some sort of "gatekeeping" or whatever you'd like to call it, as stupid as it sounds, and to some degree I do think that these are necessary things.
Especially when it comes to a "scene" such as the noise one, where you constantly have people going in and out of it purely for the immediate novelty of it, without any sort of serious interest or willingness to really involve themselves in it on a deeper level.
On some level it's a problem that solves itself since most of those people just drop out and move onto something else soon enough anyway, but I have also seen both online and real-life DIY communities go down the toilet due to these types being given too much space, essentially taking over these communities despite bringing nothing to the table themselves and not really having anything of merit to either say or do. It's kind of an ugly topic to begin with, but it is what it is.
yeah i completely agree with you.
there is an element of elitism around noise which will always be there, as it is such an experimental genre. by nature, this will attract and repel people equally. the fleeting interests will both be put off by the abrasive nature of the genre, and hardcore fans alike. the trouble is when the scenesters namedrop random acts having learned the names of a few more well known artists and feign some superiority knowing very little about the genre on the whole outside of the dozen albums they have listened to.
also I feel the rise in popularity in soundcloud and similar sites making it easy for anyone to post any nonsense has saturated more underground genres with absolute garbage. the scenesters grab hold of some of it and it becomes trendy.
however you addressed this already:
>since most of those people just drop out and move onto something else soon enough anyway
2007/8 was the worst time for noise as the most terrible people were going to good concerts for nothing more than image - literally fleeting as most of them left 20 mins in...
The only problem I had was people literally turning entire threads about their gatekeeping. Its fine if you say “find your own way” or ignoring them but making 100+ posts about how ignorance isn’t welcome or how no one in the thread knows anything is just boring at best & tiring throughout. Thread after thread of seeing anons say the same shit got old even for people who knew their shit.
But it’s whatever in the long run. Its a new year & these problems are hopefully long gone.
>also I feel the rise in popularity in soundcloud and similar sites making it easy for anyone to post any nonsense has saturated more underground genres with absolute garbage.
I think that noise has had a serious problem with this well before Soundcloud, ever since CD-R's got off the ground in the late 90s/early 2000s. It's certainly been getting worse in the SC/BC era though. So many projects by people who obviously have barely any idea of what they're even doing.
>2007/8 was the worst time for noise as the most terrible people were going to good concerts for nothing more than image - literally fleeting as most of them left 20 mins in...
This immediately made me think of this one Wolf Eyes record release show that they played when I think either Always Wrong or Human Animal came out. They also had a few other artists playing before them on the bill, and by the time WE actually came onstage like 50% of the people left. And this was a fucking record release show, with a bunch of other A-list artists on the bill, for a band that had a lot of crossover success at the time.
Of course people are gonna get pissed off when they keep seeing this sort of shit happening over and over again.
>but making 100+ posts about how ignorance isn’t welcome or how no one in the thread knows anything is just boring at best & tiring throughout
Yeah, I can agree with that.
And just so I don't come off as part of the same problem that I'm bitching about, did anyone here see this?

Just seen it announced today, release a couple of weeks from now. The artwork is shit but that lineup is killer.
I'm impressed by the quality of this thread so far

This reminds me of raw bm, really similar atmosphere. I'd recommend Axis of Light, Black Cilice, and Wold.
This is pretty much a straight up rip of early Skullflower and noise-rock era Ramleh

The New Blockaders - Live at Hinoeuma
mega.nz
track 1 was a bit bland for me, lots of long stretches of not much but low end static. i enjoyed track 2 more but still kinda slow-paced for me personally. my favorite sounds (in both 1 +2) were the fiddly bits that pop up in the high end out of the murk. i'd like more rapid transitions but hey maybe not what you're going for. last track is subtle and good, i felt like something different and sudden could happen at any moment and that's a big part of what i like in noise.
what's your method? are these live manipulations?
