You need only read this philosophy book to become truly enlightened.

Kierkegaard + any rand= truth
Put the puzzle pieces together user

Pol doesn't read.
We watch youtube videos about Hitler being a swell guy and shitpost anime.

Sure you read it in the english version, you stupid anglo.

Aristotle, Locke and Kant.

Politica, Second Treatise, Metaphysics.

Absolutely and I mean absolutely disregard all other philosophers, they are reddit-tier shit and will only cloud the truth.

>t. Worst country at foreign languages in the whole of Europe

Disregard this fool OP.

The I read 3 philosophers so only they are right poster

>Kierkegaard
Top fucking Kek. Truth is you don't need any faith to live with the absurd, instead you need to revolt and live the absurd.

>Locke
*tips fedora*

That's what I'm trying to do, though I thought it might be interesting to see what the polacks would recommend

>Sup Forums is one person

That's why I've been careful about reading philosophy

>Kant

Mainstream meme-philosopher

>Locke

Influenced most of the cuck philosophers who came after him

>Aristotle

Based

This guy thinks everything is absurd then says their is one way to live. Top Kek

reddit

>Absolutely and I mean absolutely disregard all other philosophers
You seem very secure in your opinions. Also
>Locke
nvrmind this is bait right?

Why not Locke?

You didn't even get the context, buddy.

...

Most philosophers have something right depending on the scope of your vision desu

Aurelius, Kant, Hegel, Machiavelli, Camus, Moore, Engels, Socrates, Marx, Hobbes.

You're all now thinking of studying pussy lips of your gfs.

t.

>foucault

And finish off with Deleuze

The only philosopher you will ever need is Max Stirner.

So Christianity is based on Faith so, are facts disproving god supposed to test faith or are they proof? The only way to know is after death.

He was brilliant. I bet you've never read a word he's written.

Based Zizek.

Hume is bae

Why?

Much appreciated.

...

I think robots make that point obsolete

The trial and death of Socrates is pretty neat.

At one point it's discussed if people learn new things or just remember them again. This is based on the concept of a soul that's, according to Socrates, immortal.
If we are to entertain the notion of a soul, thinking we all got one unique is too small minded, in my opinion.
Why not have fragments of a larger collective soul, which still applies to Socrates' logic that we might actually not really learn anything, but rather remember things we already knew?

Sounds interesting. I'll give it a try.

> hating Locke

The USA was basically founded on his ideas. If you think the American revolution of 1776 was bad, you guys must truly be mouth-breathers.

I have read way to many shit-philosophers to count. These are the mustreads if you must read the truth.

Of course there are others to recommend, but purely for entertainment value.

> Eg. Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, Bastiat, Rand, Montesquieu, Mill etc.

Zeno's paradoxes really opened my eyes on a lot of methods of thought. I recommend them to anyone who likes philosophy but not reading.

>Defending Foucuck

He is literally Tumblr: The philosopher

Most of them are reddit-tier.

>That's why I've been careful about reading philosophy
The point in reading philosophy isn't to agree with everything you read. The truth can't be clouded because you have to question everything that you read. As you read more and more the things that you read from different philosophers will often contradict or supplement one another, so you will form your own ideology/philosophy in the end. Be prepared to also question your past beliefs even.
I think you'd save some time by skipping everything between the Ancient Greeks and Hegel though.

I'll give them a try
I thank you broeder.

The American revolution was bad. You wouldn't understand.

>'the truth'

You don't know the first thing about philosophy.

Socrates is funny too, he discusses evolution, or rather the concept of it.
But in his time there was no such concept established. Although you still see the argument for what it is.

>not posting the ultimate destroyer

> Babby bought a $2 Penguin miniclassic and is now into dem philosophy

Yeah, it's a pretty good read. But Antigone makes a far better point.

>"those philosophical schools are tumblr or reddit-tier"

This is how I know how dumb you people are.

Wow your so cultured you must know everything

>that one spanish stirnerfag

took you long enough to appear. How spooked are ya today my man?

Yeah I regretted my words when I posted them. I'll keep your words in mind. Do you have a suggestion what book to start with? I'm kinda new to this.

Not an argument.

Read this:

How are these not reddit/tumblr shit-tier ""philosophers""?

>Babby bought a $2 Penguin miniclassic and is now into dem philosophy
>Yeah, it's a pretty good read. But Antigone makes a far better point.

Pretty good low-tier shitposting.

Idk if Stefan still agrees with this

No. You are the faggot. Taking all of these philosophers seriously means your worldview is completely non-existent.

Stefan Molyneux is not a philosopher.

>Molyneux
>this is who Sup Forums considers a legitimate philosopher

A fucking youtube "philosopher". Dear me.

v-very spoopie heteropatriacal morning today, how about you?

This has to be bait.

These 2, honestly

Thank you. I do know a lot about this subject yes.

You are never asked to prove a negative

What's reddit about them?

It was a list of diverse thinkers that'll teach someone interested in familiarizing himself with philosophy how to think.

Something you're seemingly severely in want of.

Disagree with Kant there. Agree with your general point.

You must be the prettiest cuck at the bull breed your so eloquent

He has his own philosophy. You're children who think philosophers have to be ancient academics with statues of them around.

DOING philosophy makes you a philosopher.

READING about philosophers doing philosophy makes you a READER.

Stefan does the former, you the later.

Tell me again who's a philosopher.

quads confirmed.

Why didn't you list Hitler then, he was a philosopher too. Give me one reason why anyone should read the shit you listed.

What else do you agree with? Please reply to each individual comment but just with your opinion and no reasons for that opinion

ur mum m8, she uses her head quite a bit

/thread

Kant would be the only one who is even remotely reddit (what a retarded turn of phrase). Read his political philosophy. He's the only liberal in that list

I'd suggest you start with anything by Hegel, but you can pick anything that suits your interests for starters so you don't get bored.

Is this man the greatest philosopher who ever lived?

>Give me one reason why anyone should read the shit you listed

There's every school of thought there. Forgot the Stoics and Epicureans, though.

Hitler wasn't a philosopher.

I'll do that. thanks based greece

>guy is new to philosophy
>recommend him Hegel as a starting point

You people are morons

this guy.

>Hitler wasn't a philosopher.
According to which criterion? I assume it's one nobody else uses. I'd like to clarify my own position and state that I'm not a Nazi, but I can at least recognise some of the contributions Hitler made.

Lol recommending Hegel as a starting point is fucking retarded. Its the fucking Denmarkposter who is beta cuckfagging this thread up though.

Plato is the best starting point, he is babby's first philosopher.

It's completely doctored by Jews.

He was at most a political "philosopher". He made no contributions to ontology, metaphysics, epistemology, or moral philosophy. He was a demagogue.

>I'd like to clarify my own position and state that I'm not a Nazi
Who the fuck cares

> Hitler wasn't a philosopher

This is why you are full of shit. You only named those philosophers because you thought it was cool to someone who is new to philosophy.

You literally just need to read the pre-socrats, in particular Heraclitus.

Plato irreconcilably poisoned philosophy and it has never recovered.

>reading Plato without reading the Pre-Socratics

wew

I agree but I wouldn't list him as essential in any way. His philosophy is very interesting though.

I can tell by the way you post that you've barely read anything.

You're young, aren't you?

So edgy. Give me literally one reason to read Heraclitus.

Nice counterargument!

>Plato isn't essential to an understand of the Western philosophical tradition

Your posts are fucking hilarious

Marcus Aurelius, Seneca and Epictetus are basics for the good life

I responded here:And in turn, we get this gem from the Dutch moron:
>This is why you are full of shit. You only named those philosophers because you thought it was cool

Such an intellectual

Thats a wierd way to spell Socrates

Only Nietzsche, Stirner, Ayn Rand, Anton LaVey.

Those four are sufficient.

Hahaha seriously? I have read more than your tiny little mind can even comprehend. Let me guess, first year philosophy student?

Philosophy graduate here.

None of them. Philosophy is a complete waste of fucking time.

Do something productive instead.

honestly OP get off Sup Forums right now and go to /lit/

You will not get a straight forward answer here, while some of these suggestions are valid just look at the replies they get

>huur reddit-tier
>not reddit tier u dumb i smart
>philosopher x is truth all others dumb huur
