Why is this considered a masterpiece? It's just a bunch of guys doing some dumb war shit. Keep in mind I'm not from the U.S., I'm not a male either, but for the love of ME I can't like this series at ALL.

GOAT mini series.

Way too obvious

This isn't nearly as good as people say though. The scale and characterization are great but holy fuck is it sentimental.

There's just some things women will never understand.

Its just a bunch of guys shooting each other wtf

> I'm not male either

Go back to Tumblr or fuck off and make a sandwich or whatever

Can you please fuck off with your misogyny? Of course women can fucking understand war, you retards, even Elizabeth, the queen, fought in the World War, women manufactured bullets and also war machinery. If you are ignoring the fact that women suffered just as much as men in war, you are just fucking retarded. Fuck off.

DELETE THIS

Bait

london?

I just watched Generation Kill and saw that a women directed 4/7 episodes and most of the best ones. I've never seen anyone bring that as a counter argument to the "muh masculinity muh war" shitposting

When are we making women eligible for the draft, again?

Kino doesn't resonate with plebs

GK is millennial juvenile trash for 16 year olds

...

t. 17 year old

The war between Murcia and Germany is the most famous event ever, so of course BoB is so highly rated

I'm honestly not sure what's worse. Sup Forumstard redditors that spout muh Hitler dindu nuffin, nazis was good boys or angry virgins pretending to be women so they can project their frustrations on to imaginary strawman to feel better about their own shortcomings

The german military cared as much about politics as your average us soldier, which is very little.

>Women in the War
>Spend day making bullets and munitions
>Hard work but relatively non stressful job
>Most danger you face is the occasional bombing raid if your country has no air superiority

>Men in the War
>Spend day getting shot at and dodging artilliary
>Exhausted and underfed
>Seen dozens of your comrades die
>Even when the war's over you still experience survivor's guilt and PTSD

Muh clean Wehrmacht myth

We've reached the point where everyone recognizes a bait post when they see one, but they all just choose to respond anyway.

It's like some weird social ritual by now

Back to the kitchen.

>I just watched Generation Kill and saw that a women directed 4/7 episodes and most of the best ones. I've never seen anyone bring that as a counter argument to the "muh masculinity muh war" shitposting

Stories about men in war, written by a dude. Including actual writer of article/book it is based on and fruity Rudy.

Its not a myth, Shlomo. They had a people in the military before Hitlers rise to power and they had a draft after world war 2 began. And a famous German general, Rommel, even planned to assassinate Hitler.

It is a myth, adolf

Keep on believing what you want or throw some more ad hominems out since you can't back up your arguments.

You do realize they wanted to assassinate Hitler because he was a retard who wanted to lose the war? Politics played nothing in it.

Nice try though, keep playing. Rommel was a full blown Nazi who believed in national socialism and was as anti semetic as any other Nazi.

I met a 19 year old model who was absolutely obsessed with this show.

She watched it seemingly at least once a month.

did u fug?

Did you see The Pacific? They went fucking overboard with that one

>nazis was good boys

No one walks cleanly away from war.

>tfw you will never joyride on captured German equipment.

...

...

>yfw more Brits died due to head injuries from banging their heads inside the tanks than we KO'd by enemy fire

Who cares when you look /fa/ as fuck.

I would rather have a helmet than a beret. Spalling ain't no joke.

I actually really like The Pacific. It's got more of a core theme, which is the breakdown of a soldiers psyche.

The time it came out it was a great achievement of television. Still is really. It's great show, especially if you just want to watch some war porn.

>the breakdown of a soldiers psyche
Regarding this, I really liked how they portrayed it in Generation War (Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter) with the young brother of the protagonist.

Of course. Also, fun fact, the Americans rejected Crocodiles for their beach invasions and they also rejected the Funnies for Omaha. This was a major reason it took so long to clear and cost so many lives. The rest of the French, Brit and Canadian beaches fell with ease because of all that shit.

Real shame they didn't bother with helmets, but they did look /fa/. I'm pretty sure Commanders still wear berets.

They rejected them out of pride, right? That's what I heard at least.

While that thing would be fun as hell to have, how would you use these on the battlefield?

...

It's just a remote control bomb. Pack it full of explosives and drive it up to the target. Didn't really work out so well though.

Basically, they thought they were the only way D-Day would work. D-Day would have been a success even without the Americans.

Americans outright rejected lots of help because they were egotistical dicks. The entire Battle of the Bulge? That could have been avoided had the Americans listened to the Brits warning that it was going to happen. The Russians listened and they won Stalingrad because of it.

Yup. They saved tens of thousands of lives. They were brilliant. Especially the Crocodile.

Also the prepacked pontoon docks prevented the D-Day invasion stalling. But no, the Yanks did everything.

Bratislava

>D-Day would have been a success even without the Americans
Is that right? Stubbornness aside, would it have been possible without their manpower?

>Its not a myth, Shlomo. They had a people in the military before Hitlers rise to power and they had a draft after world war 2 began. And a famous German general, Rommel, even planned to assassinate Hitler.

It is largely a myth. Ironically Waffen SS is far cleaner organization than popular culture, especially (((hollywood))) implies. There isn't major difference between Waffen SS and Wehrmacht when it comes to committing atrocities and war crimes, both were under same command. Both regular army and Waffen SS took part in atrocities. Still huge majority of that shit was committed by other parts of SS. Waffen SS was just nazi German equivalent of 'muhreens, guards units and airborne troop in most ways. Better trained and equipped than most infantry units.

Yes, yes, America should have always listened to Britain just like with Market Garden. Oh wait...

No, nor without all their materiel. He's delusional. America and Britain needed each other.

>Yes, yes, America should have always listened to Britain just like with Market Garden. Oh wait...

Pic very fucking related. This brick refused to instate convoys and mandatory ship blackouts on US eastern coast against British advice.... because it was British advice. Brits had dealt with U-boats for couple years and had learned a lot about dealing with submarines the hard way. Probably around quarter of 2776 ships allies lost against U-boats is pretty much solely caused by one incompetent admiral who happened to be commander in chief for entire US Navy. He is generally considered second most hated major allied flag officer of WWII, after Monty. Monty was smug and completely unapologetic aspie who happened to right almost always, he was hated by pretty much everyone in British Army even before war.

All those committed under glorious command authority of OKW and OKH. You know, that very clean Wehrmacht who did everything related to anti-partisan operations in very kosher way.

Also bonus points for Dirlewanger, who worked most of time for Allgemeine SS instead of Waffen SS.

>Tulle massacre by SS Division Das Reich, 1944, France

Sicherheitsdienst. Part of Allgemeine SS.

Pretty much everything that happened in France and Italy is dwarfed by shit Wehrmacht was involved in the east.

I'm not even denying nazi war crimes, just pointing out that Waffen SS role in all that was way smaller than it is usually implied and involvement of Wehrmacht is generally downplayed a lot. Wehrmacht were far from dindu nuffins.

The coolest chick I know still doesn't realize why guys think BoB is so great. I think it's safe to say there is a uncrossable gender gap with this particular piece of media.
