Is the よ particle only used to give emphasis or certainty to any statement? 長いです - It's long. 長いですよ - It's long, trust me.

If someone could direct me to grammar resources that talk about 敬語 desire/volition, that would be great. Can't seem to find it online and no grammar book I have used talks about that. Just basic 謙譲語 / 尊敬語
Actually, Imabi says this "There are other entire phrases to avoid in 敬語. Asking if your superior can do something is forbidden! Asking directly whether your superior wants to do something or is thinking something is also bad. Consider the following.
20. お茶をお飲みになりたいですか。 X → お茶をお飲みになりますか。 Do you want to drink tea? → Will you drink tea?"
So I'm guessing just non-past form is what is used here

I'm a native and looked up a bit and I found that はりきりよう is a compound noun so it's not はりきる + ようだ. It's はりきりよう + だ. And the すごい here is an adjective. すごくはりきっているようだね would work fine too (and すごく here is an adverb by the way. すごい becomes すごく when emphasizing a verb or adjective. Using すごい instead would be grammatically incorrect here) but I guess すごいはりきりようだね is just a more common expression in spoken Japanese. Other examples of similar expressions are すごいハマりようだね・すごい入れ込みようだね. (Both mean "you are so into it, aren't you.")
