You mean the Verse-Chorus-Verse structure literally found in ALL Alternative Rock music? That's a literal defining trait of Alternative Rock music, retard. Bands like the Pixies popularized the "subtle, quieter and/or more melodic verses developing into loud, explosive choruses" dynamic and made it a cornerstone in most Alternative Rock songs. And also, Alt. Rock isn't Pop Rock either; it combines elements of underground sensibilities and ideas with typical Rock production.

Rock is popular, but ubiquity ≠ pop music. Otherwise, dream pop, glitch pop, chamber pop, indie pop and baroque pop would each have as much commercial success as dance-pop common on the Hot 100. And no, I don't agree with the classification of "Pop, Classical, Traditional Folk and Art" music, as it's too generalized and fails to consider the uniqueness of different genres/styles/ideas.
