Russia keeps it's political and very, very limited economic influence through it's energy sector and robust nuclear arsenal. Most of the world is on to Russia though. By 2050 Russia is expected to be 2% of the world's population and 2% of the world's GDP. The world knows what they're dealing with regarding Russia.
