What's the worst thing about Star Wars?

What's the worst thing about Star Wars?

The fans

It exists.

This thing

there will be once in every year

they basically become a factory product with a lot of fan services that neckbeards will jerk off to

The movies.

From what I know about it the universe/lore is no worse than most fantasy worlds. Some really cool concepts, but the movies generally play the same note every dang time.

This No matter what they do the fans will go "ohmGod fukin star wars it was awesome"

And then there are the fans who know EU stuff and hate everything that disney shits out

fpbp

The whole Jedi/Sith dichotomy.

That is wasn't just the original three movies. (((They))) just couldn't leave it in peace.

people who like episode 7

The prequels and re-edits to the original series after them

No one wants to see the Han Solo movie I hope.

came here to post this

That it glorifies rebellion despite centuries of Just War Theory proving that non-state actors waging war is disasterous for human rights.

The fans do. That's why

...

The fact that each time Jewsney releases another shitty nostalgia pandering SJW quips garbage, this board becomes /starwars/

The fact any movie was made beyond the original trilogy

Maz's line "That... is a story for another time" is not only the most heinous on the nose bullshit in The Force Awakens, but it also sums the movie up pretty well. TFA is the worst thing about Star Wars.

Spock

You little scamp.

Underrated reply

This. I don't understand what's so different about Star Wars from any other film series that makes the autistic manchildren froth at the mouth. It's an average sci-fi/fantasy series. Nothing more.

americuck nerd culture

>I don't understand what's so different about Star Wars
It was the first science fantasy series to go mainstream.

Girls who pretend to like SW

the fact that 1313 got cancelled

the fact that EU got cancelled

the fact that most 'fans' are ok with these things.

Still not as bad as Star Trek fans. Especially Klingonfags. They're the furries of the fandom.

the fact that it is quite obviously and unambiguously a series of films intended for children yet grown men watch it

The total lack of musical numbers since the original trilogy

>the fact that 1313 got cancelled

But that game looked like shit famalam

>the fact that EU got cancelled
Wasn't it all garbage?

>inb4 it wasn't
It was.

Fans that do not venture past films and cartoons.

But muh Thrawn!

>EU
>Garbage
TOR is the best part of the SWU, and the novels in which we're following Luke after ROTJ have some interesting characters and are mostly solid.

>What's the worst thing about Star Wars?

the 434566656522 daily threads about it

Forgot to mention that a good amount of Vader related novels past the prequels are quite solid, too. The comics aren't too bad, either. Oh yeah, the novelization of the prequels is much better than the actual movies, and Anakin's demise is quite interesting to observe.

...

I just came here to say this.

fpbp as normal

that it was left alone for so long after ep6, giving it too much time to ferment in peoples' minds turning it into this grandiose myth and at the same time giving people the tools of the 21st century to turn it into a disgusting meme factory instead of allowing it to evolve somewhat naturally on its own

>Commercialisation
>gutting of its soul
>newfag bandwagon cunts
>sjw crap

>the fandom
>the fact that RLM are right about it needing to be about tie fighters and x-wings and lightsabers

finn

>the fact that RLM are right about it needing to be about tie fighters and x-wings and lightsabers
Oh no. Star Wars has to be about the good guys fighting the bad guys in space with some light sword battles. That's so limiting. We couldn't possibly do anything new with this oh so very limiting franchise.

>Commercialisation
Always been a part of Star Wars from the start.
>gutting of its soul
The soul is still there but you're entitled to your opinion I suppose.
>newfag bandwagon cunts
Why would that bother you?
>sjw crap
A little bit. It's not to the extent that it should affect enjoyment of the movies. We still get superior white women at least.

yea this, even Lucas has said this point. He wants to make every film different and try new things but all the fans want is more of what they got before. That's why he said he didn't like how they made TFA "retro". The quote everyone used from him to say he liked TFA was something along the lines of "The fans will love it, it is exactly what they want". With a quote like that you can tell HE doesn't quite like it or think its good.

The fanbase.

Star Wars manchildren are the worst thing on this planet, including Muslims.

They are just awful.

THIS.

>The fans will love it, it is exactly what they want
the problem with this sentiment is that i'm a fan and tfa is not what i wanted. tfa is popular amongst mainstream audiences and surface-level "fans" but i think the more serious, educated star wars fans are more restrained in their opinions on tfa

All the elements that are specifically designed for children. Completely pointless when both adults and children love Stormtroopers, while nobody likes Jar Jar or all the other weird aliens in the background.

the fact that they can't invent new stories and instead just recycle the same shit

Well that's something else he talks about. Most people seem to equate star wars to spaceships, lasers, and lightsabers while he sees it as a family soap opera story. There is a reason why imitations didn't work and were nowhere near as successful. I think the more "hardcore" fans connect more with the actual characters and story of the galaxy.

>the more serious, educated star wars fans

true, but tha same thing with every franchise

>>The fans will love it, it is exactly what they want

this is the same logic used for anime and the reason it's been trash for the last decade

also the same logic used for cape shit

Maybe that's it, I hate star wars now because it resembles cape shit. It's even got those bullshit quips

go play your video games. faggot

Maz Kanata
worst character in film of all time

>Maz Kanata
>worst character in film of all time

You mean piss yoda?

the old republic era doesn't make a single bit of sense, society and technology cannot remain stagnant for 4000 years.

Still more imaginative character design than what Lucas shat into the prequels, like Jar Jar, Rosie the Robot or Dexter Jettster.

throw every references and fan-services in the shittiest script you'll ever find, fans will keep eat it up

Everything.
It's always been generic fantasy shit hidden under a facade of science fiction so people can feel like nerds for watching it.
Every single movie belonging to the SW franchise is bad and terrible and if you like them you're a fucking plebeian.

it won't fucking end, some people have been watching the final star wars movie since the 70s.

Probably that no matter how shitty flicks Disney pours out once a year people will always hype them and it will never end

The fact that its existence means we'll never get a superior space opera/fantasy kino

Star Wars is the steampunk of the 70s.
It gave hope to the weak and fat pathetic fucks.
They too could be a HERO
Except.
With the exception of Mr. Bone.
No weak or fat person has ever been a hero in the History of mankind.

Little kid Anakin
The Force Awakens

>Still more imaginative character design
It's a wrinkly Yoda orange, there's nothing imaginative about it

agree !

The fanbase and the EU

Lucas is a Jew?

This makes my cheeks burn and my neck recede into my torso

That they ruined my favourite childhood trilogy by expanding on teh story with horrible plots and characters that made me realise that the franchise I looked upon with such favour was just a one dimensional pop cinema experience that got lucky in its time.

Thanks for the bump

Ever since R1 star wars fans have ascended up to the top of my worst fans list, literally sonic the hedgehog tier

me reason why Game of Thrones went to shit. The writers started to just plot the script and arcs out based solely on fan appeal, not on anything that would make them more dramatic or push the envelope in any way.

I mean fuck, imagine how the Sopranos would have gone if the writers took a sudden swerve to make the last season a heap of fan service nonsense.

They still made movies after 1983

They kept making them after Empire
