I was looking for the /shugazi/ thread and saw there wasn't one again.
Since it's the best general and probably one of the reasons I keep coming back I thought I may try to start another one myself. Hopefully it works.
I was going through some of the older stuff I was recommended in an old /shugazi/ general and came across the Galaxy Fingers - Let In Elijah ep (pic related) and it's some quality dream pop. I wish they had more material than this 3 track ep.
Here's a link if you wanted to check it out, I think it's free to download still.
On a side note, Why does early slowdive get so much love when they were clearly Cocteau Twins lite, and even their comeback record was better than what they had put out in Seminole Years?
Any good shugazi albums from 2017 one might have missed?
Isaiah Edwards
every time someone compares a band to ct and says they're similar i feel like they never are or at least i can never hear the similarity
Zachary Torres
Omg. Bardo pond is releasing a new album? How exciting
Tyler Ross
if anything its a cocteau twins/lush ripoff, the guitar players are huge robin guthrieboos and the bassline is "nothing natural" played a half-step lower
Isaac Sanchez
sounds nice

p sure this thread will hit the bump limit

my nigga we gotta revive it. its dead as shit. enforce the aotw and get more active members in there
this keeps dying because nobody gives a rat's ass about your trash genre
Xavier Campbell
Nha, it keeps dying because ignorants fatasses weeaboos like you rather listen and and shitpost about flat-japs shitty idol pop, Grimes, Hayley Williams, etc. instead of listening great music.
They get banned for spamming. A friend of mine has been spamming a link to his sharethread server and the mods are on his ass now.
Zachary Thompson
youtube.com/watch?v=rlUj4nIBhuU pretty good band from my hometown called Stillwave. They carry some shoegaze influence, though their studio sound is a bit neutered compared to the noisiness of their live shows. worth a listen anyway i think.

Jaxson Sanchez
No it dies because there is music discussion and sharing of knowledge. Most of mu just like to shitpost so it gets burried with other threads that actually care about the music
Brody Martinez
found a copy of split at goodwill. put it in the car and it was like i was noticing some kind if sonic depth that I haven't heard before
not sure if that means cds are the way to go or if my download is just subtly fucked up
Logan Evans
>my bloody valentine im taking that with a grain of salt

>2 days >shugazi thread is still alive Wow, we must celebrate guys. youtu.be/aFUzvbkEvRk
Jaxson Butler
It dies because 90% of shoegaze bands are one dimensional clones of either MBV Slowdive or Ride and make terrible forgettable music. Very few are pushing the genre forward or doing anything different
>Keep listening, it's a classic album they go a bit too far with ripping off mbv to be classic
Henry Thompson
i've got sort of the same thing with Lilys tbf, Black Orchids strikes gold with an absolutely heart-stopping melody; the rest of the album is just kind of overly droney and less memorable
Adrian Young
This is Lilys true best work
Samuel Wright
thanks all
Tyler Scott
that's elizabeth colour wheel, with the line 'head full of sorrow'
Jose Gutierrez
So I listened to this for the first time today, it's really, really good.
Aiden Moore
actually it's better than i remembered, i think i just remembered it cribbing from don't ask why and finding it a bit guileless
Jason Smith
just got to tone bender, i'd forgotten they took from only shallow as well
Josiah Sanders
>Very few are pushing the genre forward or doing anything different. Like...?
