If it had been finished, it'd have been better than Pet Sounds? (Based on the 2011 version)

nah theres o a lotta duds on here desu

It would've been even better than Sgt. Pepper.

...I thought it was finished.

It will NEVER be finished.

>(Based on the 2011 version)
There's the problem

obvi. is it really a discussion?

The 2011 version is the most finished version of the 60's with The Beach Boys. You can have an idea

Absolutely. That's a big if though. In a way I'm glad it was never released in any kind of definitive edition so we can all make our own 'perfect' versions and argue about which is best.

Sounded pretty finished to me, it’s a great album.

Some Youtube versions of SMiLE are fucking amazing

>The 2011 version is the most finished version of the 60's with The Beach Boys.
It's also the least accurate

Pet sounds already is better than Sgt. Peppers

Like what?

Sgt. Pepper isn't very good to begin with.

This.

The 2011 version is fantastic.

dated trash

>The 2011 version is fantastic.
It's also unrealistic
>Sgt. Pepper isn't very good to begin with.
Why?

Nah PS is a good album to just chill to in the background while Smile has too much cerebral tracks.

Elements Fire is still my all-time favorite BB song though

>Elements Fire is still my all-time favorite BB song though
Its not a song though

listening to that song makes me understand what a bad acid trip feels like

~movement

>It's also unrealistic
This. It's very good, but SMiLE realistically would have been a single album that looked something like the SLN reconstruction.
That's probs a big reason Brian had such a hard time fashioning it into a finished product. Too many ideas.

The true best album (after pet sounds)

What's the accurate representation?

To an album that was never even close to being completed?

that's one of the better attempts.

yeah SLN's version is pretty close to how it wouldve ended up back then. its different after hearing the 2011 version because SLN would cut out extra choruses or tags from songs slimming them down to 60's length.
lastly, and not really SLN's fault, but hearing The Elements:Fire without the Ooooh Ooohs just feels lacking

>but hearing The Elements:Fire without the Ooooh Ooohs just feels lacking
That's shit that was digitally pitch shifted into the song in the first place though. It was never recorded for Fire. It doesn't belong.

I know, thats why I understand why it wasn't included. Anachronistic or not, I think including it in there (whether the 2011 mix or inspired by the 2004) really enhances an otherwise repetiive track

By digitally stretching the wavforms of the vocals to fit an unrelated track? It sounds bad.

I don't like the Heroes and Villains mix he uses

Why not? That's the best one and probably would have been on SMiLE.

good opinion

Post reccs bls

MOK is a good one

Too short

>twelve songs
>40 minutes
>too short
