Great day
>that instrumental

All Caps, just darn catchy, music video is cool too
Something About Us, love that it calms you down from the more exciting songs on the album.

Raid, awesome piano sample
roygbiv is so pretty
alvin row because the vocal chants are catchy and beautiful

>Raid

o fuck i forgot to put why, DOOM has a killer verse, awesome piano sample and drum rhythm, and MED has maybe the best feature on the whole album (that line about how rap has him holding bottles by the waist side at the checkout line still sticks in my head to this day).

All Caps for sure, that MV is great too

None, hated it

Parklife and London Loves

Figaro, that rhyme scheme is fucking godly.
>The rest is empty with no brain but the clever nerd
>The best emcee with no chain ya ever heard
This is the best start to a song in all of hip-hop IMO.
Digital Love, sounds beautiful, really influenced my youth.
Buddy Holly, Older bro showed this to me, thought it was neat.

>Rhinestone cowboy
He just makes it look so easy
>Hold the cold one like he hold a old gun
Like he hold the microphone and stole the show for fun

>How DOOM hold heat and preach non-violence

Rhinestone Cowboy. The ultimate closer track. An amazing beat, amazing rhymes. Every line is a hip hop quotable. When DOOM ends his verse with a word that doesn't rhyme: "....cowboy" - he feels inclined to rap a whole new verse, just to prove himself. Play it in your stereo your crew will go ape shit. Listen to the applause that closes the album - Madlib and DOOM both know they're on some science shit. Just one of my music pieces, period. This is also following All Caps and Great Day.

This is a tough one - I think one of the underrated joints on here is "Airworks". With the context of the album, this track becomes hauntingly beautiful - the chops make up somebody gasping for air: "aiiiir, oh noo", coupled with these chops is some smaller chops like "I don't really care". I think it's amazing how much dilla was able to communicate and the extent to which he could manipulate his sample selection. RIP. My favourite is either Airworks, U-Luv, or even Lightworks just for "light up a spliff".

NY state of Mind. straight out the fucking dungeons of rap, one of the best beats every created - this track just embodies raw hiphop as a whole, as well as reflection of illmatic. love how it opens up with that drum break and nas "I don't know how to start this shit", just a classic.

Let me know your thoughts on pic related - my favourite is Thuggin or Deeper.

I’d have to say “High” is my fave cut. “Deeper” is also dope.

Really love your break down of Rhinestone Cowboy and NY State Of Mind, I agree with both choices.
My favorite is Shitsville. One of my favorite hip-hop beats and Freddie just kills it.
>Motherfuck euthanasia, I'll lace your food up with razors
>Make you gargle with saltwater, excuse yourself from my table
>I fathered these fuck niggas with fables, pussy, I been real
Just so damn cold.
This album as a whole is incredible and one of the best produced hip-hop albums of all time. Deeper and Thuggin are 2nd and 3rd place.
20 Karat Jesus. Such a good opener and the beat switch is heavily. I really wanted to hate that album because it was Short and felt a little rushed but the songs on it were so quality that I couldn't hate it.

...

Terrorist.
the whole album is a 10. it's tied for my favorite of the decade with prodigy & alc's Albert Einstein

Raid bc sample at the beginning
Pretend I posted Loveless or Soundtracks for the Blind, too lazy to grab album images

Helpless Child for sure. it always felt very Shakespearean to me for some reason

half the tracks on that album are 10/10 bangers, it's fucking impossible to choose. maybe Freewill (Phase β)? i don't fuckin know

lazyposting

Terrorist? What album are you talking about?. Also I didn't Know a Prodigy X The Alchemist album existed, thanks for bringing that into my life.

It's a prelude for Shame, only on the deluxe version.

Strange Ways. Great lyricism.
Aerodynamic. I don't like it for any particular reason.
Parklife. The spoken word parts are fantastic.
Lightworks. Because the rest of the album is boring.
It Ain't Hard to Tell. Large Professor's production is insane. Nas' flow is next level too.
Shitsville. Great storytelling.
I don't have a favorite track from this album, but I am very fond of the first track.
Six Degrees. Great instrumentals and great rapping.
V.3005. The rest of the album is rather mediocre.

Wow. Can't believe I never heard that before, great song.

what the fuck haven't seen this album cover in forever. my parents had it playing sometime when in was a kid. 4-6 i'd say. this image is burned into my memory, just the image though. i think this is the first time since then that i'm seeing this cover. thanks for that user, this sent the melancholychills down my spine and brain

>Americas most blunted
the rhymes and audio tricks in the quasimoto verse are dope
>Superheroes
Manilow sample gets me hype
>Dont Cry
Considering the time the album was made that one gets pretty emotional
>Lifes a bitch
It is the realest rap out there imo basically enlightened hood nigga the rap.
>Ghost
The build delivers me alot of hype when the bassline hits

digital love.Perfect pop song
La rapet. The lyrics behind it is very interesting and
>That percussion
>That synth
>THE BIRDS ARE CALLING FOR YOU
>PLEASE DON'T FOLLOW

...

I feel like I'm in someones nightmare. The horns sampled in this are crazy.

Raid, easily. Also Curls.

Harder Better Faster Stronger

Holiday, Buddy Holly

The Diff'rence, Airworks, One Eleven.

Me and Your Mama, best on the album imo.

The World Is Yours. Brings me back to T.H.U.G.

Down, Talk To Me, Legend Has It, Panther Like A Panther, Everybody Stay Calm. Not a bad song on this.

Really Doe, Ain't It Funny just blows my mind whenever I listen to it.

Meat Grinder because the beat is really fluent and catchy and Doom is just going ham over it

One More Time because it's really memorable and the production is just so dense and maybe a bit compressed but in the best way

Roygbiv because it goes forward really nicely, it makes me imagine everything is all hazy and dream-like

Alvin Row because the several different parts and feel is just amazing

Holiday because of that sweet sweet hook

Time: The Donut of the Heart because of that unbelieavable beat and the same time euphoric and sad feel

Redbone because of that great singing

Halftime because Nas rhymes insanely on it and the transition to the chorus is really nice

Uno because of the really cold and interesting atmosphere and ofcourse Freddie

II. Shadows because of the several parts and constantly changing atmosphere. First it's sexy and funky, then it coasts off, slips in a dream sequence and comes back 2 times heavier and orgasmic.

Legend Has It, absolute fucking banger. I got excited just thinking of it when I saw this post. Heat from El-P and Mike and the beat too, WHEW.

Lost, really creative and minimalistic beat and Danny is just going ape and paints a really dark but sametime hilarious image of drug selling.

Huey because of the beat. Simple as that.

Nights because of the ending

This constantly changes but I think right now it's LUST. It hasn't really hit me being as good as it is before this week. The beat is weird but fitting, Kendrick switches his voice really interestingly and his lyrics follow a really interesting formula, portraying a day in life.

My Boy (Twin Fantasy) because of the sheer volume and feel in Will's voice in the climax, gives me a chilly feel

supervillian theme cause DOOM doesnt rap :^)

bump

>America's most blunted because weed lmoa
>Tha because bleeps and bloops idk
>Life's a bitch cause weed lmoa

All Caps when you spell the mans name

Me and Your Mama, just hits hard after the intro.

Memory Lane, it’s a great instrumental with amazing lyrical content

Zealots of Stockholm, I like the beat changes and rhyme schemes.

Ivy, it’s just a powerful track.

>Supervillian Theme
Was the first song I ever heard from them and the beat was such a fucking hook

>Fancy Clown
I shouldnt relate to that track as much as I do.

>America's Most Blunted

Such a fun song and the second half makes it so much more dense to me.

>Crescendolls

>Scarface
Such a hard beat with a harder verse.

That beats gets me hyped every single time

End of a Century, something melancholic with it

heliosphan! the most beautiful of them all

nervous young inhumans = hihats + great lyrics + iconic spoken word

Represent. The beat is so cold I feel like its winter in NY

Leaked version of FEAR without the shitty voice recording at the start and at the end

How To Disappear Completely, represents the album greatly imo

What you want. This song hits hard af

All Caps, there are better flows on the album (Figaro, Accordian) but that song just feels "right"
NY State of Mind, the storytelling

>All Caps
Boring choice, but can't help it. Best showcase of their two strengths together.

>Voyager
Might be a little overly simple to pick as a favorite, but fuck me is that bass line fantastic. Cool cool song.

>Memory Lane (Sittin' In Da Park)
Gotta admit I just love the production too much in this one, even though I don't think it's lyrically as good as the rest of the album. Has an absolutely perfect "New York" vibe, great stuff.

>Talk To Me
Was a bit disappointed in their third album. Like, it wasn't bad, but I didn't think it had as many banging singles as the other two did. This was the most memorable one for me.

>A Modern Day Mugging
Best use of the "continuous story" lyrics used in the album, and a good amount of humor as well.

New Born

Accordion. Best one liners on the album
Legend has it. every verse is great.
