Not really a hard task, OP.

No, YOU prove that it were.

You just did

The Cure

Sisters of Mercy

80s was the best decade of music. The 90s are where it all went to shit.

>Prove the 80s weren't the worst decade for music.
trap and reggaeton didn't exist in the 80s.

Idk they pretty much were. Tom Waits is cool though.

I see a lot of fags saying this here

metal is the best kind of rock music, hip-hop was not oversaturated, and 80s pop is the best outside of the 60s

You prefer the 2000s or the 2010s over the 80s? The fuck?

Check and mate!

The 2000s was the worst decade so far

A little bit early to say but at least in comparison to 60's, 70's and 90's 80's were pretty shit for sure. Lots and lots of superficial commercial crap, kinda like nowadays.

Underground guitar and electronic-based styles were still able to penetrate the mainstream outside of pervasive industry influence in a way that hasn't been seen since. That kind of went away for good by the mid-90s

...

Its sad but true.

Moving pictures, Raining blood, Master of puppets.

this, underrated as fuck on this site

I like you guys. I like this thread. OP is obviously an 80's aficionado who wanted to trick people into gushing over the 80's, but I don't care. Best decade for music.

...

> 80's kid
> took me a while to get it
> appreciate late

80's, just barely.

musically, there was nothing of value produced between 1980 and 1990 (i mean this unironically)

best memes

If you hate 80s you have never driven a car, kissed a girl or hung out in a mall at 8PM.

Also Hounds of Love

...

Even all the good albums were ruined by awful, cheesy production.

>let's put reverb on this cardboard snare
>let's put chorus on this bottomless bass
>let's make this guitar as tinny and quiet as possible
>let's use the worst keyboard/synth voices we can possibly find
>let's sing in some affected fake baritone voice about maudlin bullshit
>let's spend most of our budget on cocaine and write in studio

80s was honestly the greatest decade in terms of artsy popular music.

...

...

Rephrased, I should say that lots of popular music had substantial artistic merit

It's not that they're good... it's just that the 90s were worse...

done

The 80s is one of my least favourite decades overall but it did have some great stuff

ez pz

Swans really has always been garbage. Their entire value is in the name 'Swans'. If they were called anything else then the facade would not work. Fuck them and their indulgent, developmentally-arrested baby boomer bullshit.

1990 but good

Like your mom

The 80s was bad for mainstream music particularly towards the end and also many dadrockers went to shit.

This is such a fucking hideous cover.

Easy

These

So is your face

t. millennial who didn't grow up listening to this music

At least someone isn't pinching my nose in the first person while I smile like I belong on a Goosebumps cover and my head is on fire.
Go fuck yourself and your shitty album.

Shut up you pathetic little twat

t. self-hating millennial with an "old soul"

"Huh huh jokes on you I'm 48 and on Sup Forums huh huh"

That's some funny and rather gross generalization of the 80s music scene.
If this is how kids think the 80s were like musically, then yeah I can understand the vaporwave meme now.

Go sit on a railroad spike you slimy piece of shit

...

>being so butthurt by truth that you resort to meme based conjecture

Nah I just found it funny that that's how younger people think the 80s sounded like. But I guess it makes sense since most 80s stuff people know is HV1's 80s revivalcore from the 2000s.

That would be this decade

Sure, it's just a compilation of b-sides, 45s, and stuff found on compilations, and two previously unreleased tracks, but The Dead Kennedys were the soundtrack to the 1980s for me.
