What do you think the best setup is for a rock band?

pic related, I think two guitars is best because it allows the band to play both harmony and melody at once.

One bass, one guitar, one drummer. Any other instruments and also vocals are the bassist.

alternate style:
>two rhythm guitars, both of which are backup vocalists
>lead guitar and vocalist
>harmonica, percussion, synth, second-lead vocalist
>two drummers
>bass

>one lead guitarist
>one guy to play both rhythm guitar and keyboards
>one drummer
>one bassist, which is also the vocalist

you don't need a band to play rock

what is this the fucking allman brothers band?

top is Rush, second is King Gizzard

I love King Giz, but I still don't know why they need to have two drummers playing the same pattern at once.

how can you not need need a band to play rock? Unless you mean solo guitar/vocal performances, but that's always struck me more as folksy.

This

one drummer
one percussionist
one bassist
one keyboardist
one guitarist
one vocalist
one trumpet
one tenor sax
one r&b male tenor
three black women to sing backup

Because Cavs overdubs himself in the studio, but can't do that live. Eric doesn't record on studio tracks and hasn't for a while; he's credited as management. He also runs Flightless for the band.

this sounds a lot like classic rock and roll or pre-rock rhythm and blues.

nice roll btw

>Quads
>Top tier band setup

3 piece

maybe a dude on keys also.

1 or two people sing

I tend to hate double guitar bands cuz the rhythm player never wants to stick to playing rhythm.

Always cooler when bass player is doing cool stuff with the guitar

>Every band member has the same haircut it just differs in length
>Lead Singer who also plays the tambourine
>Bass Guitarist who always wears sunglasses no matter if the venue is in doors or not
>Lead Guitarist who stands to the side of the stage whilst the singer does his thing
>Rhythm Guitarist who also sings some of the songs when the lead singer starts going on drunken rants mid-song and/or voice gives in
>Drummer
>Scissor Player

bumpa

1 singer
1 growler
1 drummer
1 percussionist (for shit that's not usually in a drumkit, y'know, a frame drum, xylophones, shakers, bongos, a triangle etc)
1 keyboardist
1 lead guitarist
1 rhythm guitarist
1 8 string guitarist
1 baritone guitarist
1 short scale bassist
1 regular bassist
1 guy who can't play jack shit so he becomes "band manager"
1 kid who's bullied into doing the album artwork for a fiver a piece for "exposure"
1 really rich guy to freeload off of

oh i forgot
1 on lapsteel
1 on electric violin
1 on electric banjo
1 on electric mandolin
1 on electric ukulele
1 on drugs, who doesn't play anything but gets into mad antics on stage, fucking with the pyrotechnic rig
1 tromboner

for what i want to play:
>one saxophone player
>one front man who maybe plays guitar sometimes as well
>one guitarist
>one drummer
>one bassist(me), but i play a lot of the bands melodies as well as it's low ends
>one keyboardist
>one trumpet
>and one weird instrument like a sitar or a koto or something cool like that

>Lead bassist who uses melodic and catchy basslines
>Rhythm guitarist (drop D) who plug his guitar into a bass amp. Also the vocalist/rapper
>Lead guitarist who plays with a whammy bar and wah pedal
>Drummer who doesn't have a snare on his snare drum
>Fruity Loos/Logic, engineering, and production done by all members

additional instruments
>keyboard/syth
>banjo
>saxophone
>acoustic guitar

>1 dude that plays all the instruments and also sings

>1 motivational nugget with a troupe of backing dancers

This. Total control over everything, and basically just employ musicians for whenever you go in for live performances.

two guitars often ends with both of them fighting over playing leads. ime.

No. He plays all the instruments live

>Rhythm guitarist (drop D) who plug his guitar into a bass amp.
so you mean a fender bassman, right? you fucking better

4 basses and 2 drummers

Holy fuck if this isnt true

>two guitarists lead and rhythm
>one bassist
>one keyboardist
>one drummer
>lead guitar is singer
Is this any good?

>One guitarist/vocalist
>One keyboardist/vocalist
>Another keyboardist
>One drummer
>No bass

>1 cute petite 10/10 white girl singer
>1 cute petite 10/10 Asian girl singer
>8 black men dancers who're all 6'2ft+ and have muscles (zanaba style dancing tech)
>1 white boy who sits on the side of the stage, plays the acoustic guitar and sings like ed sheeran
