Do people in other Anglo countries know what their accent sounds like?

Americans generally have no accents. Does the rest of the White English speaking world acknowledge how weird their accents are?

I'm pretty sure they can pick up on an American talking

reminder to sage and report American threads

But our accent is normal sounding and easy to understand. People don't associate the way we talk with anything unique. It's almost robotic

sage prevents bad threads from being bumped to the front page

>americans have no accent

>Americans generally have no accents
have you ever heard an autistic person who has no idea how to control the volume of their voice?
thats the american accent

Entering "sage" (by itself) into the [Options] field while replying will cause the thread not to bump to the top of the page. Contrary to popular belief, a sage is not a downvote, and should not be used as one. "sage-bombing" or announcing that you've saged a thread may result in a ban.

don't bump bait
sage goes in the options field

>Americans generally have no accents.
What are you smoking, my man?

Compared to you guys, we have no accent.

Everyone knows what a British accent sounds like
Everyone knows what an Australian accent sounds like

American accents are just your general standard accent

>Americans generally have no accents.
No, they do. I hear it all the time, and theirs are especially noticeable since I don't have an accent.

theres no 'british accent' you dumb cunt
accents vary all across the country
its the same for america

We do have an accent, but it is a neutral one. It's generally recognized as American though.

Boston here: where would you rank our accents?

reminder to sage US threads

>We do have an accent, but it is a neutral one.

Yeah, "neutral accent" basically means no accent at all.

>Everyone knows what a British accent

Do you know what a scouse, mackem or bristolian accent is?
Because they're all different and they are just 3 of about 100 in England alone

do you have a boston accent?

good thread

don't bump bait threads

Of course they don't, they think everyone from the UK speaks RP.

Yes

ohhhh

>Americans generally have no accents.
This has to be bait

>other anglo countries

Our accents aren't very noticeable or all that different.

They aren't as stark as say, Australian or Canadian accents

Nobody is this stupid

>Americans generally have no accents.
Accent is always relative. So yes, you do have an accent for speakers of other English dialects.
(The same applies to pretty much ANY language.)

>Yeah, "neutral accent" basically means no accent at all.
Nope. "Neutral" means you have a small accent for all sides.

safly, but regional accents are dying in the US, so we dont have any

>People are taking this bait
You're as dumb as he is.

Hanlon's Razor: if something can be explained by ignorance or trolling, assume ignorance.
And yes, plenty people think their accent is no accent or crap like that.

I was at a jobsite in Manchester, NH, and these guys started making jokes about how the environmental sensors I was installing looked like big dildos. Everything is funny in that accent.

look here you fuckface knob and read it (not the numbers but the letters in the post it links too)

I mean there's some people with southern or yank accents but generally speaking the american accent is flat as fuck like the canadian accent.

you're replying to an american mind you

>american regional accents are "dying" = americans have no accent
hmm

Canadians have much stronger accents than Americans do

>Canadians have much stronger accents than Americans do
Compared to who? Accent is relative, Americans in general will have a thicker accent for a Canadian than another Canadian from the same city.

>Americans generally have no accents
wtf

>Americans

>he said, in his Australian accent
See? It's a thing.

no, I typed it

You said it, and you know it.
