Is the South the only reason why the US is relevant in sports?
Is the South the only reason why the US is relevant in sports?
Texas and Oklahoma are not southern.
They were settled as the Southern part of the West
The only non-southern things about them are the big Mexican (in TX) and native american (in OK) population but even they are culturally southern
Sure, if your taking about the NBA
Western part of the South*
add new england states
That doesn't make them southern. They are distinctly western. I don't know how dumb you have to be to argue against that, but then again nothing surprises me anymore on Sup Forums.
There are very few definitions of the West that actually include TX and OK though.
Texas and Oklahoma are not southern nor are they part of the south.
Fuck off
Is this the area with the least amount of minorities?
Have you ever been to either state?
I'm from Kansas and have been to OK, Texas, and all over the actual south. There are no similarities between OK and the actual southern states. OK isn't even close to southern culturally. Fucking Wyoming is more southern than Oklahoma.
Texas is its own fucking region, it's too big and too diverse to be called southern.
lol
Both states serve sweet tea and both have a ton of waffle houses.
everyone drinks sweet tea now, that isn't a good measurement
Texas is the "sometimes Y" of the south. It's considered to be in the southern region, it fought for the Confederacy, and it was mostly settled by southerners. It has a culture unique unto itself but that culture is an offshoot of southern culture.
Oklahoma is really not the south but honeslty it fits right in.
If I remember correctly California and texas produce most of the the athletes
Georgia produces the best football players.
Texas and Oklahoma are part of the South, they just aren't the Deep South.
Do Mexicans influence California or Texas more?
Florida isn't Southern
Considering how 80% of all relevant american sportsmen are black and South has the blackest states I would say yes.
Is Virginia even Southern nowadays? NoVa looks and feels like a less cultured New Jersey
very much not
...
CHI
Is marching to the sea a sport?
things never said
Is the south relevant?
Oklahoma is midwest and Texas is our own thing
I can see Oklahoma not being southern, but Texas is.
>similar people
>has many of the same political views
>was a confederate state
>it's geographic location is south, bordering Mexico
California Mexicans have their own slang, culture, and food. Texas Mexicans mostly sound like Southern white people and eat Tex-Mex.
*Alabama
Are the Patriots from the south?
the very best sport
but I'm also enjoying this new confederate statue removal sport as well.
>Oklahoma is midwest
Hardly, considering Missouri is south, Oklahoma is most defiantly south. Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, those are Midwestern states. The original Big 10 schools is a good starting template for what states are Midwest
No, the patriots have always been from the north
the traitors come from the south.
>corn belt
>not baseball
>rust belt
>not hockey
You've got a bad map, user.
Also new england should probably be baseball
Honestly, New England could go for any of the four major sports in the US...
In that they brought hundreds of thousands of blacks to the US and bred them for physical ability? If that's your argument, yes. Otherwise no.
Do it again Uncle Billy
OP here. Wrong pic sorry guys
Dixie land?
More like Loser Land.
