How many of these have you listened to?

how many of these have you listened to?

...

not enough

Probably about 90%. This list is kinda old now though isn't it? It doesn't look like it's been updated since about 2009

I'd say about 60%
I avoid hip hop shit

You have a lot of great albums to experience for the first time. I envy you desu

>doesn't look like it's been updated since about 2009
>TPAB is on there

Wow one album while the rest has been the same for fucking years

Faggot cunt

I counted i'm at 133/375

I can immediately see at least 15 albums on there that were released after 2009, and a bunch of older ones that are new additions to the chart

at least 2 dozen of these albums are post 2009, as well as if you look back at Sup Forums charts from a couple years back even though the "core" albums haven't shifted too much there's still noticeable additions and other albums that have been removed

those marked with green are the ones i'd rate 7+
those marked with red are the ones i'd rate 6 and below
i'm usually easily pleased so the album has to be pretty unremarkable or boring to land on the red

83

Green = good, red = bad

>discovery bad
Into the trash it goes

Summoning is the only good band in this list

Maybe r/music would be more to your liking

I can guarantee I've been here longer than you butt boi

Not liking dance music (let alone one of the very best albums in the genre) doesn't make you cool

>I can guarantee I've been here longer than you butt boi
Yet you still listen to pleb trash redditcore. Congrats.

>pleb trash redditcore
Buzzwords that aren't doing anything for your argument.

>Buzzwords
Nice buzzword

...

Now I just have to wait for an antlers fan to show up.

What do I need to listen to Sup Forums?

Surf's Up, Discipline, Larks' Tongues, Hosianna Mantra, In Praise of Learning, Second Edition, Bricolage, Mingus Ah Um, Getz/Gilberto, Rust in Peace

Bad Brains
Discovery
Mingus Ah Uhm
Sing to God

...

how have you listened to all that krautrock but not hosianna or any off the ones on the first row of bleeps

Why the fuck are you avoiding Kanye ?

>The Glow Pt. 2
>Bad

i found it very boring and dull
it sounds literally like what I would imagine soy slurping nu-male would listen to
I don't mind sad indie music because I like NMH, Elliott Smith, RHP, etc. but Microphones was just too dull from a sonic point of view. I also don't give a fuck about lyrics so there's that

>boring and dull
>it sounds literally like what I would imagine soy slurping nu-male would listen to
Opinion disregarded.

good thing i didn't bother with anymore

jim o'rourke is a god

Albums I haven't listened to but which I've noted as albums I might be interested in:
>Jim O'Rourke - Eureaka
>Beck - Sea Change
>Mr. Bugle - California
>Husker Du - Zen Arcade
>Wire - Pink Flag
>Throbbing Gristle - 20 Jazz Funk Greats
>Tim Buckley - Starsailor
>Mobb Deep - The Infamous
>Ken Ishii - Jelly Tones
>Andy Stott - Faith in Strangers
>Vektor - Outer Isolation
>Peste Noire - La Sanie
>Neurosis - Through Silver in Blood
>Liturgy - Aesthetica

If anyone is a big fan or detractor of these or other ones I haven't heard and has opinions as to why they're worth listening to, I'd be interested in hearing peoples thoughts.

The Modern Dance is an essential listen
Pink Flag is good but not anywhere near as good as the two albums that followed it

>Husker Dü - Zen Arcade

Up until that point, no alternative rock band (at least none with ties to hardcore punk) had attempted anything like this. It definitely speaks to their musicianship and vision. You get a little of what they were as a punk band, and tastes of what they would become as alt-rock/college rock legends through the late 80's

if it's scribbled over in red i've listened to it.

You're in for a good time with Starsailor and 20 Jazz Funk Greats, though those two albums have very different ideas of what a good time means.

I thought I might have listened to more of these bleep releases.

Anything in particular I should listen to immediately?

Best album I haven't heard yet?
We're almost exact opposites

only 28

Yerself is Steam, especially if you like psych and noisier albums
Stereolab if you liked NEU!

Goddammit I actually have a marked version at my work computer. Been a project of mine to listen to all of these.

I even rated them:
Red: shit
Yellow: neutral
Green: good
Blue: masterpiece
Purple: among the best of all time

...just realized everyone ITT also has one...

i recommend what's going on, superfly, and salad days

Planning to listen to a lot of releases this year. Any tips/suggestions on how to keep track of fresh/new releases?

Explain

Every single one, in full, many times

Jazz

maybe 30 or so, and i've been posting here on a daily basis for years

32

I'm not into rap or jazz so there were two sections that went untouched.

Around 80 or so.

id say about a good quarter to a half

I 100% the older one. Seems like 95% for this one.

I notice alot of you overlooking Jackson c frank. This album deserves a listen.

Try amon tobin, maybe Foley Stage over Bricolage

The Andy Stott record is interesting, "Faith In Strangers" is a good standout.

Wayne Shorter

Old Sup Forums essentials was better, this one is so focused on the US

Homogenic

bruv go listen to love forever changes and leonard cohen, its one of the best albums of all time

127

Been trying to shave off more recently. Still a lot left.

make sure to check out autechre, gas and ryoji ikeda

any albums you recommend from them?

dataplex, pop, confield, garbage, elseq

Thanks a lot.

I have a long way to go

not bad if i do say so myself

53 and why the fuck is Korn on here

Look at the Korn font, it's photoshopped in

111, seems rather low given the years I've known about the list and the general hit rate of the albums I've enjoyed

120

I've been here for over 2 years.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

are you not at least curious about the albums that shitposted here daily?

24 .__.

>listens to (c)rap
back to r/hiphopheads mutt

im interested that you picked on him and not one of the guys who's heard the whole rap section

listen to Scum dude its some of the harshest metal ever recorded harshly

I am, but I don't know where to start. I can see that I've missed a few albums. I also haven't marked albums that I haven't listened to in their entirity.
hiphopheads is for plebs.

personally i finished off most of the top section when i was pretty new to mu just out of curiosity about these albums i kept seeing the covers of everywhere

>hiphopheads is for plebs.
you'd be a perfect fit then

bcd-2

>2 years and hasn't even tried the anne frank album
they get memed for a reason, some of the essentials are actually good

missing more than i thought, gonna have to catch up on these

I've heard a few songs off some of these, not enough to mark them off though
