...

well, at least they were kinda self-aware

...

...

...

...

fucking sick

jesus, the 70's have aged so fucking well

...

...

weird. they tried to market talking heads as punk back then?

damn good album

...

it was all very nebulous at the time you see
punk/new wave/edgy shit that wasn't corporate rock

...

"punk" (as a specific movement/concept, not in terms of stylistic precedents) was only a year or two old at the time
and talking heads were part of the whole "scene that comes out of punk through cbgb's to become new wave/post-punk/etc" thing back then

...

Remember when these guys were pushed to try to be the next Nirvana? They played SNL and everything off the back of 1 moderately popular single on rock stations.

...

Teenage Fanclub are a really great band.

...

ba dum tssh

Absolutely. But it was funny how by the end of '91 (before Nirvana had even fully broken into the mainstream) things had already started to change in the industry.

The Stone Roses too, there was a huge bidding war over them for years despite the fact that they were only mildly popular amongst the alternative crowd in the states.

It's a meta post

...

Kurt was a fan too

...

So it's self-advertising?

...

Waifu marketing is real

...

is that fucking g-man

Oh yeah. Grand Prix is a great record too.

They made a comeback album a little while back that is solid.

...

>And you mind if I dl them and start my own collection?
>asking and not just taking them
lol?

...

Well OP obviously put a lot of work in to collect these, so I thought I might as well be courteous

>mind if i save this one?

...

Reminds me of this

Seriously. I love Springsteen but that album isn't even that good and he was majorly biting Dylan/Van Morrison/Steely Dan.
