As much as I like Trump he's definitely ignorant of the internet and the problems faced with censorship, tracking people and such like.
But then to be fair MOST people are ignorant of those things only people who are professionals in this area (such as myself) know the realities.
The good thing about trump is that all he's saying is that he should defer to experts who are smarter than he is to address the problem, and in all fairness this is the best thing any president can do, get advised on the reality of the situation, as long as the advisers are competent.
This is why I see his comments as more positive than negative, if he's rational he'll follow expert advice and learn that there's not actually much you can do online, not that you can reliably reinforce.

It's a pretty unspecific comment because he's admitting up front he needs to defer to others to understand how we can fix the problem. Now he may not like what he hears back but as long as he doesn't act irrationally on that advice, then it's all good.
If he's said something more specific on the topic then it's nothing I've seen. As long as he doesn't follow in the footsteps of the kind of "great firewall of britain" which we might be looking at, because our prime minister is a complete retard, then you guys should be all good.
Best thing everyone can do is really get educated about technical solutions because with very little research you can out smart measures put in place by your country anyway, the people are smarter than the government by orders of magnitude and that is your strength, we should raise our expectations that all citizens are aware of VPNs, proxies and Onion routing, quite frankly all this stuff is on the horizon one way or another the trick is to be one step ahead.
