Its been a while since posting. I moved, hmu if you are one of the people I used to converse with back in the day I'd love to see how you've grown/changed. As per usual I'll be keeping the thread up for a bit and replying and going through peoples stuff to comment

Only gonna be giving responses to hip hop/rap submissions because that's what I'm submitting. that breathing is fucking cool. very atmospheric overall, followed ;) 500 days of summer type beat who you missing man. good verse my favorite part of mellow is at about 25 seconds when u break it down. I still think it is missing something. Should add something very opposite of piano to make it feel more complete, juxtapose my friend
yr music isn't anything revolutionary or genre-bending, but your instrumentation is pretty dope (you're v good at guitar). i also enjoy how much of yourself you put into your vocals at times - it makes me feel all those collegey sadboi feelings that i love so much. im gonna throw one of your songs on the playlist im using for my college radio show on thursday (probably Film Noir), keep synthesizing your emotions into music, homie.

I once downloaded a wav file from soundcloud via jdownloader (download was not enabled originally in site). Do they really stream the same file you upload? Even WAV/AIFF?
Maybe I'm missing the point but the voice doesn't really fit the production. I think you look more uncomfortable doing this almost like you are forcing it more than you should be. The hand motions the voice all of it sounds so forced.
I enjoyed your tracks man, Cities adrift, the watchmaker, memory hallway, and the oboe sonata (my favorite) stood out for me. Your arrangements are certainly pretty, and you create some solid harmonies. I would be interested in songs which perhaps have more emotional variance within them, more rhythmic and tonal variance i suppose. More interplay between the different instruments. You do have these elements don't get me wrong, but I guess I'm saying you could go further with it, be bolder in your sound and compositions perhaps. Your music is definitely solid and you have a strong grasp for it, I guess i'm just looking for more innovation. I feel like I got that a bit more on some of the electronic pieces, just because the sounds you chose were unusual along with the percussion in those. Overall keep up the good work man Really enjoyed this piece, I loved the small lemergences of faint sounds which would rise up and fade away with the backdrop of that full wall of sound. The progressions and developments in the song were placed out and arranged in a way that kept the song an interesting listen for out, you struck a great balance between minimalism and progression.Your work reminds me of Megaptera You have some real warm, comfy sounds here. The piano and pads on rebirth blend together nicely and while the chord progressions aren't particularly complex they serve enough to keep an interest. I think at some points a bigger, fuller sound may help you, I can barely hear the bass in these songs. but thats just my preference. Also I feel as if the tracks could be slightly shorter as some sections feel slightly repetitive at certain points. Again this is just personal preference, dont take this as objective critcism you necessarily need to fix, just my thoughts on it.
Based off the tags I didn't expect to enjoy this track as much as i did, but it was pretty enjoyable. In the mixing/mastering process you guys achieved a certain clarity with the guitar that made the verses really stand out for me with how the guitar danced around the singers voice. Decent pop song!
really cool stuff, the arrangement of the electronic sounds is super solid. The melody you first start off with and which runs throught this track has this up and down quality that flows really well with the hard hitting drums. straight fucking banger. I love the progression of the track, and the beat switch up actually really caught me off guard and added a lot to the track. Went from a fairly straightforward video game track to something a lot more interesting and dynamic. The ending was a nice touch as well. As someone said on your soundcloud, replace the electronic sounds with less 8bit instrumentation and i think this could be a quite an impressive track. or dont the 8bit is cool too honestly it's whatever youre feeling.
also this is me if you would like to check out my stuff Hey man really loved this track, pretty exciting. The strings sound you used throughout the piece added a lot to it. The very first transition you have in the song felt a lot a little forced, but the rest were pretty fluid. My main complain with the track is that other than the end sort of guitar solo, the intensity never quites build enough for me. I kept waiting for a crazy freakout or solo from some part of the song, or anything more energetic and frenzied then the other parts of the song. Overall solid stuff man, i like the songwriting and im excited to see more stuff. this is me if you'd like to respond back

Thank you for your detailed feedback! I am working on some music that I think you'll prefer, with a bit more unconventional rhythmic and harmonic material. The last few compositions I posted were mainly exercises to get me back in the creative mood after a long period of dormancy.
