Why are comedians better at drama than most "serious" actors?

>Why are comedians better at drama than most "serious" actors?

They had good direction. also you mean Albert Brooks

>Mel Brooks in Drive

Fucking lost it

because most comedians are depressed and dead in the inside

Because most comics at their core became funny as a coping mechanism for their own depression and because it gave them self-worth.

So they're great actors because they have plenty of emotion to draw on for serious roles and, because they are great at comedy, have a natural sense for comedic timing.

Take for example Chris Farley as Shrek.

Also:
Adam Sandler in Click.
Jim Carrey in Bruce Almighty.

>any of those making the top 250 best performances ever

What about
>Will Ferrell in Stranger Than Fiction

Those are shitty comedy flicks with forced little drama to make you cry-cry

Comedy is much harder than drama, this is why most "serious" dramatic actors never attempt it. They know they'll just get BTFO. Comedic actors on the other hand can do drama whenever they feel like it and occasionally do so just to remind drama fags who the real thespians are.

>Click
>Forced little drama
The first half of that movie is a shitty comedy.
The second half of that movie is a drama. I hate Adam Sandler movies after Big Daddy because it's the same rinse and repeat plot that every Adam Sandler movie has. But half-way through that movie the entire fucking tone changed.

>I WANT THAT DRIVER AND I WANT HIM DEAD
>NO NOT THAT DRIVER

how did he get away with this

Shut your hole. This is kino

>Comedy is much harder than drama

user, please. Comedy is not hard, it just requires talent. Everybody can act as long as they let go of their inhibitions.

I can spend hours here trying to convince you that comedy requires talent and can be difficult and that letting go of their inhibitions isn't being comedic.

But what use is there trying to explain comedy to the man whose life is the biggest joke of all?

People go to school for drama
Comedy is just a hobby

>user attempts to be funny

Sad clowns. I think Farley could have done an acclaimed dramatic role.

Bro see I've always said that too.

HAHHAAH mel brooks in drive....

because we don't have any expectation of how they're going to preform as we're going in.
also this
I wish Carrey and Williams took more dramatic roles as they grew.

Williams did but most of them went under the radar.

rip

What about that "True Crimes" movie with Jim Carrey? Is is out yet?

The film had its world premiere at the Warsaw Film Festival on October 12, 2016

They aren't. You're just so used to them being over the top all the time the moment they bring it down a notch it blows your feeble little sheep like mind away like the good goy you are.

Click was just a shit knock off of It's a Wonderful Life.

This is true. Most comedians have a lot of pain they can drag out but need to constantly do comedy to keep it down.

>Robin Williams will never play Gendo in the inevitable NGE hollywood adaptation
I bet he would have give his all, saving that most likely mess.

People say Eddie Izzard was good in Hannibal but I can never not see the comedian. Think I've watched his stand-up too often

>shitty comedy

Adam Sandler farting in David Hasselhoff's face is one of the funniest things ever

Kino, right?

so bad it's good tier

>DUDE EVERYTHING IS 23 LMAO

It's shit.

That's why they're usually funny to begin with, all that self-hatred and depression.

Plen

The mystery part was ok. The plot twist ruined it.
