Why do some Americans hate taxes so much? It's not possible for a modern large state to function without taxes. Do they suppose that companies themselves would fund all of the roads, schools, hospitals and the military? Seems like it would end in a Hobbesian nightmare to me.

because muh commies

that's literally it

>Do they suppose that companies themselves would fund all of the roads, schools, hospitals and the military?
Yes and they used to until the mid 1900s

>Why do some Americans hate taxes so much?
I bet Danes love giving 50%+ of their salary to the government. I bet they love how it's virtually impossible to own and operate a large car in your country because it gets taxed to hell and back.

Yeah, because less than 50% taxes isn't possible, oh wait. Some Americans equate taxes with theft and seem ridiculously hostile to the idea that Americans would have to pay anything to the state.

I suppose that all those things were entirely funded by companies alone?

americans think you can't steal (privatize) money without taxes

>I suppose that all those things were entirely funded by companies alone?
Yeah, pretty much.

Denmark
>59 % 335 801(dkk) and over

>t's not possible for a modern large state to function without taxes.
Ditch the fucking state then.

Small the government the better

They still had taxes back then, you do realize that right? It might not have been obvious, but during the early days of the republic the states themselves administered taxes and the federal government itself also taxed imported goods. How do you suppose that military would be funded by companies alone since there would be no gain from just giving away money. Also with regards to roads, schools and hospitals, it would give a very unfair advantage to already rich people, since the gain for building a road or school in a poor district would not give anything near the same revenue as building a school in a rich district.

That's even worse.

If you or any one else here, especially Americans, ever has the opportunity you should either the us mint or us treasury department. There are literally artwork on the walls displaying our tax systems dating back 200 years. We made a fortune by taxing tobacco and snuff.

That doesn't work in the long run.

It's simple: tax money is money you earned but money that isn't entirely for your own direct benefit. The American Dream is all about making it to the top by stepping on others along the way, and so the society is very much based around the individual is worth more than the masses. This has created a culture which ironically doesn't value human life because a true hard working American only appreciates his own circumstances for making it thus far, ergo taxation is seen as taking away from that hard work to help someone else. This flies in the face of the popular sentiment that everyone else is worthless, and so people feel that benefitting from the efforts of others is permissible and even an entitlement, but others gaining from your hard earned dollar is a personal affront and stealing away the very essence of what it is to be American.
It is their god given right to disregard the wellbeing of their fellow man if it infringes upon their entitlement to take from the community without giving back to the community.

why dont they kill themselfs then? 99% of them are failures by their own standards

Checkmate atheists.

...

amercans are millionaires with temporary problems

also theres nothing more permanent than a temporary

what are you talking about?

Because you didn't earn it without the community creating the environment for you to earn it, fuckwit.
You think companies create their own roads, their own power supply, their own telecommunications, their own water treatment?
Sowell is a hypocrite.

It's kind of ironic because they rarely paid taxes to begin with.

>99% of them are failures by their own standards
Why do you think the most successful industries in America are all set up around making people feel like special snowflakes?

Something like 65% of federal government spending in this country is on "transfer payments" which is a politically correct way of saying welfare. Medicare, Medicaid, social security, WIC, SNAP, etc. They're all horribly run, massively innefficient programs with tons of fraud.

Actual infrastructure/science/defense spending is only like a third of the actual budget, despite the memes that we spend a hundred quintrillion dollars on every tank we have.

Not quite true. The states did collect tax money for what they called internal improvements (now we call infrascture) roads, bridges, canals, etc. just not as much.

socialists btfo
agreed with americans here, taxes usually go to fuel corruption

> tow ant

It's mostly hicks that hate taxes.

And for a good reason I guess, most of rural US is neglected third-world tier.

So

>Literally being cucks for city shitskins

Most people hate Texas because of Texans.

>state has no sales tax and no income tax
>tfw non-americans tell me it doesn't work
>one of the richest states in the union

You sound like a fucking commie bastard. Try hanging out with some LAU people maybe they can explain to you why taxation IS theft.

Stem Liberalistene.

Ever been to PorcFest? I went there this year and it was quite a ride. I for one enjoyed my time in NH, and don't you guys already have constitutional carry? This guy I spoke to said they got it quite recently.

Beautiful state, really. Only complaint
>driving up a mountain
By far the most 'murican thing on the whole trip. Mt. Washington was still nice though.

No I haven't been to Porcfest and yeah we do, the picture is pretty old (it even references obama being president)

What did you drive up mount washington for some reason?

>implying URSS had public healthcare
>implying they didnt starve their own people to death in order to fund their military
America is exactly the same except the taxation wont ever be that extreme

>What did you drive up mount washington for some reason?
Yes, there is a toll road that leads all the way up. We had to see it, because mountains. There even was a train that went up there, just crazy to be quite frank with you familia.

I saw some real rednecks in Lancaster in Coos county. We were at a gas station and these three gentlemen all wearing either tank tops or RealTree Camouflage (TM) were standing outside talking about hitting up the pub or something. Weird stuff.
