101.5
there's a classical station in my town that's dank as fuck
BBC Radio 4, comfy fm
all indio radio, china radio international, radio new zealand international
88.5, sometimes 98.1
>I just checked and theyre playing stressed put my twenty one pilots
Alternative as a radio format has been complete shit for years.
Most commercial radio is frankly garbage. Local college radio or independent/public shit can be good.
Common Man Dan Cole
New England has no good radio stations, so no.
I used to when I was in high school. A local San Antonio radio station would play Grindcore at really late hours of the day. That's how I got into Insect Warfare and other stuff.
Still one of my favs Circle of Dead Children

>alternative
Yeah, for some reason 21P is considered that. They've had 5 (!!!) fucking #1 singles on alternative radio from their last album alone.
Just look at this fucking airplay chart. This is the shit that's considered "alternative" these days.
is this bait?
Best we get in MN is a "rock" station that plays actual metal for about an hour. Accidentally stumbled upon it and I'm like "what the fuck is this Septic Flesh? How is this happening?"
what's it called?
Here in Seattle KEXP is pretty good
kexp.org
They do good specific shows (particularly the reggae show on Saturday morning) but the variety show is pretty much just indie pop. It's good but a little boring
>dank
I hate you so much
no? 88.5 is my jazz station, and 98.1 is a classical station
Seattle?
99.9 KISW Seattle
Dad rock shit but their talk radio shows are good.
There was bad alternative rock music back then user...
Yeah, obviously. there was more good alt rock music on the radio then than there was now.
Even Swans got played on alternative radio back in the day.
yeah
>99.9 KISW Seattle
It's literally the weirdest dadrock station ever though. They'll play like normal dadrock fare (Aerosmith, Queen, Zeppelin) and then like Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson and then like Tame Impala and fucking Jump Around by House of Pain (which is hip-hop lmao).
Wow fucking The Men's Room fan up in here gross
Wfmu
Seattle radio is the best confirmed lmao. Why are there so many of us in here.
But yeah, the public stations have great jazz and classical and KEXP is pretty much Sup Forumscore.
I listen to KOMP 92.3 less for the buttrock and more for my wife Britney.
and also all Seattle people in here what's your favorite KEXP show? Also which is your favorite record store
91.7 kxt in dallas. The TRUE alternative/indie station and the only music station that gives a shit.
Does kpop music get any air time on US radio stations? Just wondering since how big the music has become.
>91.7 kxt
It's not much different than most AAA/public radio stations out there
I know, but the radio around here is completely controlled by the big three of Clear Channel, Cumulus, and CBS/Entercom. So to call the radio predictable shit is an understatement. It's not perfect, but it's at least a little experimental and doesn't have massive gospel and latino blocks like our other independent station.
KEXP is the only station that will play Phantogram
Yeah. You were probably listening to a college station, not a mainstream station.
For some reason, alt rock stations like to play House of Pain, Cypress Hill, Beastie Boys, and even fucking Run the Jewels.
Our local rock station was like this when I was a child. They'd play Deathcore/Grind/Etc for a few hours late at night.
Not anymore though.
>Yeah. You were probably listening to a college station, not a mainstream station.

#26 on Modern Rock.
Bizarre. Probably because they're all owned by the same corporation now and have very similar if not identical playlists when it comes to older stuffi in the rotation.
Yeah, my grandpa listens to the radio, I listen to the radio when I go to the school.
Local college station KZSC is great. Their middle eastern music and experimental music shows are my favorites.
wtf is modern rock
89.3 The Current is a pretty decent station in Minneapolis. Otherwise I'll listen to the classical station.
