Metallica

Proclamation

Hellyeah

nigga what did i say?

Fuck yeah

what metal genre are they, and which ones are their best songs?

Portal - Ion

Krallice - Years Past Matter
Discordance Axis - The Inalienable Dreamless
Converge - Jane Doe
Bolt Thrower - Those Once Loyal
Cryptopsy - None So Vile.

was planing on giving them a listen, and i saw theneedledrop review on them, they really look promising.

Thank you, Lord almighty

peep these newfag
terrorizer 1st album
assuck misery index
bathory 1st to 4th
bolt thrower 1st to 4th
celtic frost - morbid tales, to mega therion
hellhammer - satanic rites
sarcofago inri
speedboozer 2013 album
cryptic slaughter - convicted
death first 2
demolition hammer 2nd album
incantation onward to golgotha
in no particular order just pick whichever name u like and go from there
war metal
no songs only albums

Jesus Christ, dude, thanks

Portal would not be the band for a new metal listener to jump into. I'd start with either pic related, Anciients' Heart of Oak, Megadeth's Rust in Peace, In Vain's Aenigma or Death's Human.

btw half of these are bound to be too much for you
in any case before you listen to all that (excluding speedboozer) listen to these
metallica first 2
megadeth up to rust in peace
razor violent restitution
slayer first 4ish? if you feel the 4th is too slow then dont bother
kreator first 2
sodom first 3ish
destruction 1985 ep
motorhead ace of spades overkill and iron fist

First three Dillinger Escape Plan releases are p good

no theyre not
not even metal, fuck off retard

Sevendust

no

youtu.be/t9-253fThaE

Thank me later

why not?

...

buttrock relying solely on chugs to escape actually having to write riffs
fake tuffguy attitude

Try City by Strapping Young Lad. Here's your taster!

youtube.com/watch?v=xnoXJy9mjmE

Not a fan of Sevendust by any means, but Lajon, the vocalist, does have a really nice timbre and gets featured on some surprisingly good projects.

youtube.com/watch?v=WhtEusYxATQ

Oh yeah, this would be good too. It's more extreme than anything I listed, but it's written cleverly enough for pretty much any demographic of metalhead to enjoy. Devin's the man.

OK, dude, i'll give it a listen

Dude, Mutoid Man is just what i like in a metal band. Thank you very much

lol cucktano controls what you like

Maybe some Ektomorf?

I like you. This is for you
youtube.com/watch?v=xjKyzwqIT7s

I like you, too.

Is that a running joke or is it a real problem, cus I've been subscribed to his channel for a month.

Meshuggah - Obzen
Deafheaven - Sunbather
Melvins - Houdini
Between the Buried and Me - Coma Ecliptic
Ghost - Meliora

They aren't half bad, a little raspy with the vocals, but still fantastic none the less.

Deftones
Mastodon
Ghost
Sleep
Electric Wizard
Acid Bath
Melvins

Dope! Then check these out:

His rating scale basically comes down to how much he enjoyed the listen, and most of the metal he's into now is the more dissonant, murky and experimental kind. Just probably not the best rec for a new listener.

I listen to Mastodon, I have to say that Streambreather and The Wolf is loose are my favorite songs thus far.

Mhm, but as a content creator, he is fun to watch.

Thanks, dude, much appreciated. They've quickly grown on me

>tricks a dude requesting metal into listening to not-even-metal

It's ok if they're not metal. They've already given me good suggestions and a lot of metal material to listen to. Still, the songs are really good.

Not exactly metal, but it's definitely heavy enough

I think you're just salty that a bunch of millennial garage rockers can fun-play metal better than your dad rocker supremeos when they're trying their best.
>inb4 muh slaughterhouse is garage

m.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ_3F93hgZw
Here's the link cause I know how lazy you all are

This is fucking twisted

m.youtube.com/watch?v=vlYo2fMt2aQ

Yes it is. That's what makes it great

Nails - Unsilent Death

If you mostly like KoRn, Tool, SoaD, etc., then you might find it a bit heavy, but it also might be just what you've been waiting for, subconsciously.

G O J I R A

In particular the song Art Of Dying (which is my favourite) and the full album L'Enfant Sauvage

The songs are really short, but I'll try them out.

That's kind of the nature of the genre of Grindcore. I'd describe it as "bursty." The whole album is like, 13 minutes.

This is their first studio album, if I'm not mistaken

This album is the goat of fuzzed out hard rock albums

Prob the only French metal band that is genuinely excellent.

They've got a nice tone a ND good lyrics, it's a shame that they're underrated

obviously reviews are subjective

Listen to this masterpiece youtube.com/watch?v=865-mmg5xBY

All of those bands are mainstream.

Anyway, I recommend every band in this thread except Gojira. Gojira sucks ass. Also check out Mr Bungle, Primus and Faith No More. They're not metal but you'll enjoy them for sure. As far as actual metal goes check out Vektor, Voivod, Municipal Waste, Sepultra, Athiest and Death.

This guy knows what's up.

I said no mainstream Metallica, because I do not like the over all feel of the band.

And I was interested in trying out Municipal Waste, but I don't know where to start.

I adore Primus with all my heart but I just couldn't get into Mr. Bungle or FNM. Should I give them another shot?

Also I will not tolerate shit-talking Gojira pls stop that thank you

OH NO NO NO N NO ONOP HHHPHHHBBTT... AAHAHAHAHAHAAA!

Not him, but you should definitely give me bungle another shot. Can't speak for FNM though
m.youtube.com/watch?t=141s&v=ITEDFYdLHFA
I already posted their self titled earlier but this album is a little more user friendly, for lack of a better term, than that one

He definitely is, i've been subscribed to him for over a year since I started getting more into music and I've found stuff that I really like through him.
As the other guy pointed out, his reviews are pretty based on what he enjoys or not, but that's pretty obvious for a music review in my opinion. That's as much as you could, or should, ask from someone like that.

In regards to the topic, not to much of a metalhead but I do like Earth a lot, I guess that's metal.

Mutoid Man

>Gojira sucks ass

not true btw

You okay?

Peste Noire, fool.

Hey now.

give this album a try op

Do people on this board not like Pantera or something? How has this not been posted

This album gives me a huge Tool vibe, it's not exactly metal though.
youtube.com/watch?v=MPZ6u6MCdnk

Metalcore and Grindcore are punk, not metal

Does no one else see that OP's post was obvious bait?

Is it so out of your realm of comprehension that some people don't know as much metal music as you?

Carcass
Burzum
Testament
These are a little mainestream but don't knock Metallica's first four albums. It's foolish to dismiss a band just because they're popular.

You should check out Annihilator

I don't think Burzum would be a good intro band, but the others are great.

Listen to Amon Amarth. Its the most powerful metal band that I have ever heard.
