Playing TFC.

Something awful and x-entertainment

Thinking that I could trust my family
Thinking that I would be able to find someone to relate too
Thinking there would be something to bring me joy other than working long hours

Sanity

All of it, up until wiggerdom, and latin chicano shit was heavily promoted.

DELET APHGANISTAN!

9/11

Everything about it
The tech
The social norms
Society itself
TV

Digital stuff feels wrong

A white majority in schools.

Youre clearly army so thank you but come on man it was good

having hopes and dreams

kek

People genuinely hated muslims

>When starcraft was actually good.
You take that back.

almost everything
this is just probably blind nostalgia associated with my teenage years though

Seeing kids, teenagers, and adults that aren't constantly looking in phones.

The search for good porn and the incredible nuts I bust when I found it.

Today it's just too easy.

Made me Kek

Yeah windows 98 and windows xp was good times especially playing the 3d pinball on xp.

Back in the day you would press shut down, and then a message would pop up telling you it was safe to turn off your computer. THEN you pressed the power button and shut the damn thing off. Y'all fool kids don't know nothing.

>Is there anything you miss about the early 2000s, Sup Forums?

It was shit, but I had no conception of how much worse it could get.

A (relatively) less developed internet
>still felt free
>forums instead of social media
>not controlled by a handful of websites that mined your data

When interracial cuck porn was exotic and weird and interesting to me instead of just a meem

Sure, I miss the early days of Ultima Online. Still play some of the free servers for nostalgia occasionally

>there are people who unironically feel nostalgic for worse technology

I can't wait for you ludditefags to be purged by fire when the Singularity comes.

I still play it occasionally
only one good public server left

shame that Fortress Forever never picked up a solid player base. I fucking love that game.

The distinct lack of elevated blood pressure and feeling as if I'm about to fucking die 60% of my waking hours.

no personal internet, was happy being a good goyim

I miss how girls used to look. Even though I wasn't emo, (I should have sold out and gone with it) the emo and scene girls were hot as fuck. Later, right before hipster really took off, I tried it out and realized how easy and straightforward these girls are.

Now they're all blue-haired, mentally-ill, indecisive, pansexual, anxiety-ridden, and STILL trying to find themselves at this age. Shit, even today's version of scene girls (pastels) are just as broken.

Girls used to look 1000x more girly and jailbaity. Now they look like boys.

Internet without social media and other shit.

The internet wasn't full of normies. People could actually have meaningful discussions online.
Getting home and watching two episodes of DBZ one day a week.
The allure of Diablo 2 LoD.
Society was less degenerate.

>anything you miss about the early 2000s?
I miss when my wife's son would come back from school and we'd play catch and just talk, you know?

my smile and optimism

>went through uni from 2002-2005
>did a BFA focused on graphics and visual effects
>ended up working in games

Early 2000s was a strange time. VFX was still in that awkward teething phase where it was okay but mostly shit, but advancements were still being made. Films like Matrix 2 and 3 had so much promise because of how farther they were pushing limitations. Now we've basically crossed the uncanny valley (at least with anything non-human) so the excitement is gone. Everything's possible, so nothing's surprising.

Seeing Unreal Tournament 2003, or Half-Life 2 for the first time was mind-blowing. Now games are just "nice" I guess.

Anyway.

Reading physical books printed on actual paper.

Levitating in Morrowind.

SHUT UP BITCH

You have that right about the older games.

First time I played UT2k4 it was like a breath of fresh air. Now I spend a lot of time just finding one that keeps me occupied at all.

best day of my life senpai

That's called growing up. Your dad/granddad did it and abandoned video games in their teens in favor of more mature hobbies like girls and sex.
Today, manchildren latch onto those juvenile hobbies and never let them go.

From January 1st, 2000 to September 10th, 2001: airports and air travel in general. I traveled via plane a lot at that time and looking back on it now is very sad.

Yeah, it's a shame how counter culture girls used to be super feminine and now counter culture is SJW shit

i miss how much more open people were before 9-11, that shit broke a lot of people hearts.

My Dreamcast

The way the world felt, there was this feeling was something big going to happen, i thought it was going to be something good.
I miss when cautious optimism was the standard reaction.
I miss being able to at least trust strangers not to fuck me over.

The magical feeling of the things I could do with a CD-R drive and Napster/Kazaa

post-90's zeitgeist. its gone forvever, never to return ;_;

White suburbs.

There is this too. I will admit, people were much more douchey back then with an ego off the charts. Remember all those CKY, Dropkick Murphy's, Fallout Boy, and skater fans that messed with everyone back then? Remember going to those god-awful parties with "You spin me right round" remixes?

Yes, assholes, but they were understandable assholes. Now you have some snarky hipster cuck who's YOUR human resources manager, and who VOTE and have some sort of cuck army to make sure you fall in line with their bullshit or else you lose your job, get blacklisted, etc.

proper mollies

Lack of social media bullshit and liberal SJW cumshitters infesting everywhere.

God damn, I wish TFC was still active. I miss some good ol' dustbowl with the clan.

oh man this all the way
I probably have close to a hundred burned cds in my car from like 10 years ago.

oh man, that beings me back

Forums and the like weren't so mindlessly politically correct.

Sure, if you straight up said "gas the kikes" you would get in some shit with the mods, but for the most part you could hold some very, VERY unpopular opinions and the worst that would happen is that you would get some really nasty PM's in your profile inbox.

Nowadays if you don't 100% tow the liberal progressive line you have mods pruning all your posts and permabanning you.

they were just simply feminine and none of the immastrongwomyn bullshit.
at least a quarter of today's 16-25 y.o. women's style is simply just to look bad on purpose.
just another proof that woman know nothing about beauty and aesthetics.

I miss it and wish I could go back to life back then every day OP. I wish I could relive my life back then with the knowledge and experience I have now.

wow, edgy.

Man, and the forums were always active. Everybody was homies back then, too.

>when the war ends but you overslept and missed the plane ride home

For myself: My teen passion.
In general: People being more natural.

Normies didn't have internet

I was in my early 20's and I miss three things from those days:

Not having a job
My Hot girlfriend
I could drink a lot more and hang overs were not as bad

Now I Just have money to spend

Sum41 is the best sum possible.

Miss those fags.

>88

they still do. its just the politicians that like muslims. I knew buddhists from sri lanka, nepal, and thailand that used to say the west should wipe islam off the map, the buddhist and hindu countries would gladly help out.

like no shit they wanted to lead fucking pogroms against the Muslims.

>CKY
Good times.

I remember back then I wanted to get into game design, and it was actually something encouraged, because the market wasn't saturated. It wasn't terrible, still with overtime issues (Like EA in Redwood City) but it was enough to put bread on the table just by playing around in a map editor or drawing concept art.

Now we're overflowing with shitty hipster coders, pixel bullshit, everyone and their mother getting a hold of modding tools, and since games have gone mainstream, EVERYONE wants to be a designer.

Here's a fun fact. Working on the World of Warcraft team requires almost zero work, and even I can do their jobs for new content, but they're such a tight-knit circlejerk, and there's no need for them to hire more people just to use a color slider in photoshop or gimp.

Fuck man I'm turning 30 next year what the fuck

...

99 was the best.

i didnt need these feels

I just turned 30 a few days ago, it really fucked with me. I still can't believe it.
Time seems to go by so fast now. The last 10 years for me have been a blur.

>all of that was 14 years ago
>even the Spiderman movie
Where did the time go?

You know what's really mind-boggling? I've lately found attraction to palid women in old renaissance paintings and Roman statues. They're more feminine and graceful than today's women. Women, and men as well, have literally gone back to the stone age with piercings, stretched ears, weird hair, etc. What next? Lip discs like African niggers? Why ruin such a lovely body?

>Seeing Unreal Tournament 2003, or Half-Life 2 for the first time was mind-blowing.
THIS
Games used to be innovative as fuck to get attention. Nowadays it doesn't matter because now kids with ADHD will buy anything that's new and overhyped.

>the emo and scene girls were hot as fuck.
Agreed. We still have scene girls in Aus, but i'm not sure if it's meant to be actual scene.

No. Not good times. It brought out the Xbox brodude crowd and caused young people to become alcoholics. In fact, in my area, drunk driving was bigger back then thanks to those types of CKY fans. Everyone wanted to be Bam Margera or imitate something from Jackass.

You're a big fag if you miss those old shit computers. My main pc recently died and I'm having to use an ancient turd from the mid 2000s, and boy is it annoying to browse the modern internet with it.

the time before napster sold out
