Mental Health General

I'm looking for music that helps with panic attacks, trauma and generally really shitty feels.
My friend has some issues and she is looking for some soothing music that would help her deal with panic attacks, stress and "get her back on track"

also, if you have anything "anti-suicide thoughts" that would be helpful too :)

Thx guys

pic kinda rel for me

listen to asmr maybe?
it's good for that sort of stuff
if you're feeling suicidal either call a helpline or if you want something more casual theres a website called sevencupsoftea where you can chat to people
:)))

Loveless maybe?

...

These are my happy/cozy songs:
George Harrison: Behind that Locked Door
Air: Ce-Matin la
Brian Eno: Deep Blue Day
Fleetwood Mac: everywhere
Daft Punk: Fragments of time
Neil Young: Harvest Moon

Motown is very feel good– Hitsville is a great compilation
Brian Eno (ambient in general!)
Joao Gilberto (not in english but very pleasant)
Avalanches - SILY
Fela Kuti (very happy summery sounds)
Early Animal Collective (feels, prospect hummer, campfire songs, sung tongs)
Jerry Paper Toon Time Raw
Curtis Mayfield (smooth and nice)
Earth Wind & Fire (happy and fun)
Miles Davis (pre-experimental)

thanks so much guys :)))

have a nice day

Michel Ponareff

ratatat, kid koala, brian eno, mort garson, and flamingosis are all great too

Iggy Pop - The Idiot

I heard that ambient helps

Harold Budd, Roger Eno,Stephen Philips, James Johnson, Steve Roach,Jorge Reyes, Suspended Memories

This album helped me get through a rough patch. No lyrics though, so if that's your thing maybe you can still enjoy the instrumentation

Mental

Just not MGMTs new songs. Listen to their album Congratulations.

Eagles of death metal are always comfy songs to listen too...also for me really long and chilled house music is good for panic attacks

This album never fails to put a smile on my face

>Odessey and Oracle by the Zombies if you can't read the text

Cafune - Love Songs for Other People

It's a cute little EP, the music sounds like something out of an obscure japanses SNES game, it's on bandcamp for free btw.

if you're already a fan of the beach boys, try listening to "friends". i'd also recommend bonito generation by kero kero bonito, and maybe close to the edge by yes.

BROCKHAMTON - BOOGIE

I was in the middle of listening to I just Wasn't Meant For These Times when I came across this thread. quite spoopy.

why do you keep pushing this album?
ill second that george harrison
also look at scott walker 4

not him, but Spirit of Eden is a gorgeous album. Very cathartic AND calming.

seconding this
good luck OP hope things improve

Wil Wagner is a very personal and emotional writer who has issues with his mental health. If you want something really pretty low and sad, try his solo album Laika
If you're after something that's uplifting by the end, try his band's album Throw Me In the River

All their other stuff is good too but those would be my two picks

Love - Forever Changes
The Zombies - Odessey and Oracle
The Millennium - Begin

do not try to form a romantic relationship with that girl, trust me

Hosono House

I don't think you know what cathartic means. Spirit of Eden sounds like Little Feat's grandparents on opium

spirit they're gone spirit they've vanished also has some themes of dealing with emotions, but not to the extent of this album

Mouse On The Keys helps me a lot.

ya just listen to 60s sunshine/psych pop, all u need
