His old stuff is still really good, just in a different way. It's more like in the whole "Wow, this is a really creative deconstruction of multiple musical decades and I can't pinpoint exactly which because it has nostalgic factors from almost all of them", but it also has an edgy lo-fi 90s/early 00s feeling

Then there's like late 90s/early 00s shit like loverboy, scared famous/ff, doldrums, worn copy, house arrest which is all 10/10 mostly good tracks hypnagogic rock
then there's his more recent pop-influenced high-fi/mid-fi type shit like pom pom, before today, mature themes, and bobby james which is like a mix of this category and the latter
then from his very oldest albums/singles/etc. he has probably 2 albums worth of good material
i'd say he has like 10-12 solid albums worth of material it was just released inconsistently when he first started out

even his older stuff from the 90s/late 00s still sounded 90s/late 00s for some reason, some of the attitude about it, the recording quality, reminds me of when cartoon network was airing DBZ, king of the hill, ice cream trucks, fun dip, and all that good shit from that era
but at the same time it'll shift from sounding lik eits from the 60s, 70s, or 80s all at once, or even blend aspects from all of those decades into one part of a song, sometimes even sounding particularly 90s because of the synths
