So I made a movie thing, it's like an amateur Fantasia mixed with the soundtrack to Tetris (8-bit classical, mine's more freewheelin and psychedelic though).
I know it comes off bribey, but I will definitely reciprocate any feedback I get on the movie. It'll be honest though, no playcating, there's more than enough of that on these threads. Share what you got though!
there is something oddly charming about this, i enjoy the lofi aesthetic you have but the vocals are kinda incomprehensible sounds more like youre mumbling
idk man, sharethread is sort of a broad term, it's definitely been applied to soundcloud/bandcamp stuff before for years

"Empty" sounds like a cross between John Fahey and the Spirit Temple from Ocarina of Time. I really dig it.
"Peace" has really cool synths, the arrangement is pretty creative. You probably don't wanna hear this, but I'm not the biggest fan of the vocals. I think you could just project a liiitttle bit more and it would be a lot stronger. Look up some basic vocal mixing tips too, hi passing those tracks would help a lot too.
I like these two tracks a lot though, you've got a lot of cool ideas in here. Keep it up.

i like the drum reverb a lot. i would have processed the vocals a little differently, make them more spacious and part of the music rather than on top of it. feel like the vocalist could have done a better vocal performance too, sounds like he's nodding off on something. give it a lil more energy next time and it'll sound rad.
I appreciate the tips! I still struggle hella with getting my vocals right. Ima definitely put a lot of emphasis on them with the new tracks and take your tips into consideration.
Also John Fahey and Robbie Basho are huge influences of mine. I'm glad someone caught it lmao!

This is my first somewhat-serious attempt at making a song. I know the quality is shit but I'd appreciate any input.
We are B A C K- this time with a new project from our in-house producer from before Moniker, and me, Material Girl. Hope y'all enjoy the new track, which is rough but we're just seekin feedback!
>OPN and wonky inspired hip hop with extensive microsampling and warped textures >hopefully worth a listen I do like some of the ideas on the new one but I feel like you stay on the same texture for too long with not much evolution or building of tension, as for example on down syndrome angel; beatrice screaming sounds just like a badly mastered/EQd rock track, and I feel like any immersive element is broken up by moments like that where the sampling isn't all that creative IMO. But props, at least you're trying something new!
listened to Tomb, definitely like how it builds with the synthesizer and the single chord bassline, would say that you need a stronger emphasis on the downbeat with maybe a kick early on and then make the hi-hats or snares unquantized to get a slightly shakier feel and make the track really draw someone in from the beginning. Other than that I actually really liked the synth work and the track in general
like the basic melodies and guitar/vocals, but I have a few, I suppose what could be called gripes
the gameboy samples sometimes aren't in the key of the guitar (near the beginning) which is somewhat distracting. the mix is really drum-heavy, which is fine, but this obscures a lot of the other elements and make the track feel messier than they are. A more hi-fi guitar and vocal recording would be great but if you can't secure that it's no big deal. Overall pretty good tho

Really appreciate the feedback(I'm GleXtal). The track you posted is great, you're a great producer. Suppose I was using the same recordings and samples, what would be some ways you think I could improve the track?
I did take three semesters in college of music theory, but beyond that I'm self taught. Understanding keys, intervals, counterpoint, harmony/dissonance, and modulation is pretty important, but they're things you can know by another name without doing any studying or whatever. I don't consider music theory while I'm writing except for maybe like "ok I'll start in the major key". Mostly though, I just follow my instincts.

Cool thanks for sharing. The animation was great too. can I ask what software you used for the animating and music?
