"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Why don't schools do this anymore Sup Forums? I remember doing this every single day in elementary school, and then it stopped.
Why don't we all have this nationalism back? We used to go to church every month, pray and sing during harvest back in school. Even if someone wasn't religious you still go to church Sunday afternoon for tea with a buttery and a chat the old ladies and go with your mates. Good times.

I used to be the edgy kid who didn't do it because I don't support the middle eastern war effort, but then I came to be proud of this country regardless of whether or not we blow up some shitskins.

One nation under God. Don't let the cultural marxists bring you down.

>Senior year of USA high school >Start getting an attitude >First stop saying "under god" >Eventually stop holding hand on heart >Within a week, stop saying pledge at all >Stop standing at all
Pol, of course I regret my actions. It would take me another 10 years to regain my nationalistm.
HOWEVER
I will say, that NOT ONCE, did an adult chastice me or try to take me under their wing or even at least ask WHY I felt that way.
I think schools stopped pledging because lack of leadership. My school simply lacked strong leadership and that is, ultimately, what the country lacks now.
We need strong men and women to show the way.

You forgot under God.

What's the point in making a oath to a country born from treason?
Hunter Turner
We used to pledge allegiance to the flag as well.
Jaxon Bell
They still do it where I was, but the pledge in question is cancer.

Under god is not in the original address, Christkeks

It's not a matter of being edgy, it's a matter of laziness. Being forced to stand, put your hand over your heart, and recite the lines every school day for who knows how many years makes a student get sick of it. However, students would gladly stand, heart and recite the national anthem because it's not done every day. Maybe if they made the pledge of allegiance mandatary but only one day of the week, students wouldn't mind as much.

>"Land of the free" >forced to pledge allegiance to the flag Explain this shit to me.
Jaxson Ramirez
Under God isn't in the original address? That'd be funny considering the pledge was made by Christian Socialists.
