Recommend me good underrated crime thrillers that I never heard of

recommend me good underrated crime thrillers that I never heard of

what's your country of origin?

canada

Im not super deep into crime thrillers so you might have heard of these.
Then again Prisoners was a major film so here goes:
Memento
Cape Fear
Nightcrawler
Se7en
Untouchables

Ones you have certainly heard of but are still great:
Reservoir Dogs
No Country for Old Men
The Departed

Cold in July
Blue Ruin
Hell or High Water
Snowtown
Animal Kingdom

The Prophet.

Wow, literally the most popular crime films of the last 20 years. I'll have to check them out. Have you guys seen ''the Godfather;;? It's underground Italian American crime kino, really quite obscure.

Prisoners is a schlock thriller that gets treated like a real film by entry level film buffs because of superficial IMDB elements like the casting of trendy actors, a "dark" tone and the cinematography of meme deakins.

So it's pretty overrated.

*A Prophet

Snowtown is great, one of the most believable portrayals of a manipulative sadist I've ever seen.

It's incredibly bleak though, I always feel bummed out for the rest of the day after I watch it. It gets under my skin more than any horror movie.

Transsiberian

good shit bro, only heard of half of them tho

have u seen fight club?

>recommend me good underrated crime thrillers that I never heard of

LA Confidential
Miami Blues
Frozen River
Bellman and True
Thief

Watched Prisoners last night. Good flick.

Dog Day Afternoon

One of the best crime movies ever, and probably the best performances from both Pacino and Cazale.

Kek

added to watchlist:
>cape fear
>untouchables
nightcrawler is probably personal my favorite of that list, gyllenhaal is amazing.
haven't seen any of them, thank you
looks interesting, thank you

Idk, I'm not into indie movies

I consider it a flick. But I would also say that it created a baseline for all modern thrillers. Anything below it is garbage, anything above is kino.

John Bunting was based as fuck but that faggot protagonist might just be the biggest beta cuck I've ever seen in a movie.

>Prisoners
>underrated

I'm pretty sure it was met with universal acclaim and commercial success. Fucking reddit tourists need to learn the meaning of the word underrated.
