Now Sup Forums, which ones are actually worth listening to?

Now Sup Forums, which ones are actually worth listening to?

All of them.

I must say this is a good chart, a lot of great albums.

OK let me ask another question, which ones do you rec the most?

what exactly is art pop?

Where's Grimey?

Lots of good stuff here, but Mature Themes as the token Ariel Pink album? Why?
Hounds of Love, For Your Pleasure, and So are utterly essential.

Personal favorites are Low, Midnight Vultures, and Homogenic.

jens lekman - night falls over kortedala

person pitch is my favorite album, give that a listen
other good ones are sweet trip and jim o'rourke

in the trash where her music belongs

Velocity design comfort - sweet trip all the way

...or you could listen to them yourself and form your own opinions.

heros and low by david bowie and the mercury rev album also

Japan - Tin Drum
Peter Gabriel - So (also listen to Peter Gabriel 3)
Brian Eno, his first three albums
David Sylvian - Brilliant Trees (and Secrets of the Beehive)
and, despite being not there, Shiina Ringo - Kalk Samen Kuri No Hana

fever ray
talking heads
panda bear
kate bush
beck
dan deacon

...

Music that has clear connection to pop music and is generally accessible, catchy, and easy to listen to, but at the same time deviates away from the conventional mainstream pop sound or structure.

>no actor

shame on you

I forgot two; the Slapp Happy and the Lucio Battisti ones.

>Getting rid of sweet trip
Disregard this edit

It's more of a where to start.

Of course this is subjective, but try these first:
1. Slapp Happy - Acnalbasac Noom, catchy off-kilter avant-pop with thought provoking lyrics
2. Residents - Duck Stab, best place to start with the Residents imo
3. David Bowie - Low, best album of his best era with a great opening song
4. St. Vincent - Actor, creative guitar with freeflowing melodies
5. Kraftwerk - Autobahn, the basis for almost all electronic music that came after

there's always one of you lurking on this board. oh I have to share it with you, but damned if it doesn't make me wanna puke

Left to right, top to bottom

So - Peter Gabriel
Hounds of Love - Kate Bush
Duck Stab - The Residents
Low - David Bowie
Autobahn - Kraftwerk
Remain in Light - Talking Heads

These are some of the best albums period, let alone in the pop world.

Eureka, Hounds of love, Loud City Song, Big Science, Emperor Tomato Ketchup, The ArchAndroid, We Must Become the Pitiless Censors, Person Pitch, Low & Heroes, Homogenic, BLack is Beautiful, Age of Adz, Fever Ray, and Remain in Light

>no sweet trip
S H I T T A S T E

literally only Com Truise and that Beck album

also Low isnt art pop lmfao

Emperor Tomato Ketchup, Haha Sound, and Low are my personal favorites

>Fantastic
Emperor Tomato Ketchup
U as in Utah (how did this make the list??)
Boces

>Great
Eureka
Hounds of Love
Bitter Tea
Big Science
Remain in Light

>Good
World of Echo
Haha Sound
Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?
Kimono My House
We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves

>Who gives a shit
The rest

Of all the good shit to pick and you go with beck and, for fucks sake, com truise?

V;D;C is a mediocre meme that coasts on the gimmick of genre fusion without the craftsmanship or genuine ingenuity to sustain itself. Also, you know, it's pretty gay.

Remain in Light and Anima latina are amazing, those AL wont have as much impact if you dont know any Italian I guess, but its still cool. most of these albums are good if youre into "art pop"
(wouldnt call Remain in Light art pop tho...)

sorry?

most of this chart is really good

Tin Drum, Boces, and Brilliant Trees are probably the top 3 on here

this is a serious question how many people have actually listened to this and how did it make it onto the chart

This is a pretty great chart. The Kate Bush is my personal favorite.

I'm glad it made it to the chart t.b.h.

shiina ringo
fuck the rest

Bitch ass nigga detected

Well yeah, but I've seen two people ever post it and I'm one of them. It's confusing.

might as well ask here, does somebody have an essential country albums pic?

Literally all of it desu

Laurel Halo - Quarantine
