Explains how episode VII is good by showing how it's top grossing

>explains how episode VII is good by showing how it's top grossing
I try to respect RLM as much as I can, but that was just a retarded movie.

I actually meant to say "retarded move", but I guess that sentence works either way

topkek.

People still use the "money = good" meme?
Phantom menace was the highest grossing movie of 1999
Transformers 4 was the highest movie of 2014

The fact that the 2 highest grossing movies of 2015 were shitty poorly made nostalgia pandering cash grabs really says something

>explain how you think TFA's good
>"your opinion is wrong"
>explain how you think R1 is bad
>"your opinion is wrong"
>reiterate specifically what the difference is between both
>show money
>"lost all respect"
Fuck's sake. The guy is an utter pleb but you idiots are way worse.

It seemed to me that he was arguing that people liked TFA, not that it was good

except he basically only said that TFA is better than R1, please rewatch the video before shitposting.

>Transformers and Avatar exists

You know what I'm happy about though:
1. Plinkett is making videos again.
2. Disagreeing with your fanbase on occasion makes for good drama and makes for as Plinkett commented once: "art through adversity"
...
Keep at it RLM.

I paid to watch it, doesn't mean I liked it. Then again, movies don't get to 2 Billion without a lot of people liking them. Then again again, most people have terrible taste, so what's this argument about? Again?

i think he missed the part where Jyn Erso does everything to first find her father (the first lead on his whereabouts she's ever had) then to finish what he started. It isn't bad character development/motivations imo, much better than Rey's nothing of a character and "i just wanna get back to muh home" bs until she decides she doesn't for some reason because movie wants her to.

I mean, fuck, she never even has a moment where she willingly joins the adventure. At first she's just running away from imperial troops, then she runs away from the lightsaber and instead of choosing to come back, she gets captured and once again swept up into the action.

Hey disney, i know we need heroes to deny the call, but come the fuck on. We cared about luke's journey because HE BOUGHT IN 100%. Rey just finds herself in places.

Apparently Plinkett doesn't think that sort of thing is a problem. Respect lost.

>I try to respect RLM as much as I can

Why?

No, you rewatch the reviews, idiot. They're half an hour each of the guy explaining why he likes and dislikes one and the other and you fuckwits still can't take the hint.

As if TFA is something so horrendous that you can't fathom someone liking it despite it being seen by enough people to make $2B.

>some faggot is so assblasted that Plinkett didn't validate his opinion that he literally can't stop making thread after thread on Sup Forums about it
Fucking hilarious.

Sup Forums fags trying to defend rogue 1 lmao
Even if tfa was bad, rogue one was way worse, get over it

Except I hated Rogue 1, good job missing my point.

This is my first thread on him. I watched his video almost just now.

I'm done defending myself now.

...

This keeps getting brought up because most of you are stupid and don't listen.

The argument he was making was not about quality of the movie, it was a response to a comment claiming no one would want to see [a movie with qualities he attributed to VII]. The box office revenue was a good surface argument since it indicated how many millions bought tickets.

I say surface since at this point millions would pay to see the movie they played in Idiocracy if it was rebranded to align with the SW universe.

I hadn't seen a movie in theaters since 1999, and TFA got me to pay for a ticket. It was horrible. I was board because it was basically a New Hope, and I knew what was going to happen before it happened.

>Lots of money made from a star wars movie
>This means its good
>Ignoring the fact that because it even remotely has STAR WARS in the title it will automatically make a lot.

Transformers 4 made 1 billion, by their absolute shit logic, its a good movie.

i couldn't believe they made that first "response video", but this second one is truly pathetic.

>uh i obviously didn't mean they LITERALLY need to talk more in battle scene

that's such bullshit, they even went through the effort of recutting the new hope fight without the talking to show how "boring" it would be, obviously that was the point they were trying to make, they're just backtracking because they realized how dumb that was. really goes to show how little thought goes into making these videos now, they're convinced people will blindly eat their shit up, and when it doesn't happen they throw a fit like this

Lmao

Except there -is- that moment for Rey, it happens in the "torture" scene.

>i think he missed the part where Jyn Erso does everything to first find her father

this, so many of their arguments (not just against rogue one) are based off of over simplifications, which you can get away with in a video since there's no rebuttal. then when people in the comments tell them they're wrong, they make fun of them and call them fanboys.

>I have to defend this movie vehemently to fit in with the other cucklets at /r/movies
What a great life you lead.

Why is it a legit criticism that R1 had no story?

>a second tantrum video

oh boy this is too good.

i really liked how they switched from half in the bag to the plinkett persona for these videos because they thought people like him more so they'll be less likely to get mad at the video

its clear they're buttflustered about people shitting on them in the comments, but surely they must know that making ANOTHER video is just going to bring more of it in. its like they just have to have the last word, i wouldn't be surprised if they make a third response video and turn comments off.

They only review these shitty blockbusters in the first place to generate an audience. They even said vvitch was the best movie of the year but dedicated like 10 seconds to talking about it.
Star Wars is an interesting case study to follow because it started as a nerdy guys low budget sci if film and turned in to what it is now.

>it was a response to a comment claiming no one would want to see
Why would you lie about a video freely available?

The comment he responded to said "I can't believe he felt there were good parts to TFA, it was all awful."

RLM have always been fucking simpletons. It was only ever reddit halfbreeds forcing their terrible shit here. I still giggle that they managed to trick these morons into thinking shitting on a godawful Adam Sandler film was some sort of courageous thing to do and really sticking it to the man. Holy fuck.

Actually they're just intentionally generating controversy via click bait videos because they're desperate for more revenue and plunket is the holy golden cow

pointing out that they made a retarded point and then backtracked doesn't mean i'm defending rogue one. don't be such a pathetic rlm fanboy

Adam sandler is huge, ofc it's a big target and "sticking it to the man" but I guess you weren't alive in the 90s.

>I'm not mad YOUR MAD: The Post.

Sure thing, Cochise.

Adam Sandler was huge in the 90s so that means he was huge in 2011

Yeah, pretty much.

Also he keeps saying 'they want to do the thing, because of the thing'

No, they want to blow up a fucking superweapon because it can and will kill billions. Which is also the motivation that our heroes have for the second half of ANH ...

>Adam sandler is huge, ofc it's a big target and "sticking it to the man" but I guess you weren't alive in the 90s.
No one on this planet thought Jack and Jill was a good movie or anything but a soulless corporate cashgrab, yet they behaved like they'd just done something very profound in labeling it as such. Then they praised the most cynical corporate creation of all time in TFA. They're the worst kind of nothings, only the internet could have produced these people.

Being the top grossing movie of 2015 doesn't necessarily mean it's good, but he was specifically responding to someone who said that there's absolutely nothing to like in TFA and that everything in it is awful.

To think that the top grossing movie of any year has absolutely nothing good in it is pretty stubborn and retarded.

I don't even like their videos, I'm just tired of these fucking threads. We have them every 10 minutes ever since they uploaded that video. Let's talk about something else, like Star Trek.

FUCK THE PAIN AWAY

>like Star Trek
Oh boy.
youtu.be/qlV3bsafkq0

>using box office as an argument of movie's quality
>damage controlling youtube comments
>taking youtube comments seriously
>still cashing star wars clickbait vids
>mike "I hate lobster and escape from new york" cucklasa
>mike "I crave black" cucklasa
LOOKS LIKE RLM C U C K S ARE BACK ON THE MENU BOYS!

It was still an interesting and funny video having it so plainly laid bare. And ofc only the internet could produce them which is why we like them. Movie journalism is in itself a joke. Would you prefer roger and ebert?

Star Trek insurrection is as much of a star trek movie as into darkness.

What?

>Would you prefer roger and ebert?
Is this a serious question?

>I'm just tired of these fucking threads.

then add "RLM" to your filter you fucking moron and you wont see them anymore

>he liked that pretentious lobster movie

>i couldn't believe they made that first "response video",

Why not? They've been doing nothing but shitty clickbait under the guise of it being ironic for a year now. It's getting really annoying that they think so long as they take an overly cynical approach to something that suddenly makes it ok and not just the same shit but now with an annoying smug overtone added on top.

Whoa new leak coming in

You copy pasta'd two posts from a thread earlier today.

This is some next level ctrl+c ctrl+v gameplay faggot.

Not taking it back, the Next Gen movies were just about as bad as jar jar abrams shitfests.

better than cuck one or blacked awakens.

I'm saying average normies are rarely exposed to this level of critique of big blockbuster movies so idk how you could slite them by saying "oh they're internet people" when there's no other good alternative for movie journalism or critique but other internet outlets

Being bad doesn't make it not Star Trek. Half of Star Trek is bad. Insurrection is a Star Trek movie (in fact of the TNG films it's the only one that can be really called that). Into Darkness is Generic Space Action Film.

>he actually monitors rlm cuck threads 24/7
lmao get a job aidsmoby you failed viral marketer

>>January 7th - Best of the Worst: Bless You Disney, It's Jynuary!
this should be a half in the bag but my source fucked it up

>he knows this because he saw all three of these flim flams
And I bet they were cam rips watched on a laptop too

i want refn to make the next star wars movie

cruisin in a speeder under the dark of night w/future horror techno blasting

based gosling beating all the characters good and bad into a pulp

Siskel and Ebert were serious, intelligent critics. RLM are sloppy manchildren who can barely speak, who can barely THINK. Of course I prefer At The Movies you demented millenial dipshit, what the fuck kind of question is that?

full hd or 4k, doesn't matter, these flicks are garbage. I bet you love watching blacked.com vids on your wife's sons 4k tv.

Go to bed gramps that is all

siskel and ebert also had access and experience in movie industry. rlm are man children who play video games on new years eve. lmao I bet Mike The Cuck spent that entire day watching interracial porn.

I don't have a wife. I didn't have sex for the entirety of 2016.

This, no idea why anyone respects them. They make funny videos sometimes. That's not enough to earn respect.

Like em a lot.
Mike has taught me a lot about basic story telling in film.
The triangle pillars in the first RO video, ring theory, set-up and pay off, characters arcs and so on. He gets some shit for putting those elements in Plinkett reviews, but those are the parts I actually enjoy the most because I actually learn something new.

Plebe

looool

Why do sequels need to explain things the previous movies already did?

No one has been able to answer this.

Who?
