If those areas would actually be represented like in that map over a 3rd of our population would supposedly speak swedish. Only enclaves where swedish is spoken are Åland and few very small towns alongside the northwestern coast. Have a jolly good thread!

This is similar to Scandinavian languages. Although I find Norwegian quite pleasant, Danish however sounds like someone trying to speak Swedish with a hot potato in their mouth.

It's just so many sch and sh sounds combined with spelling from hell. It's quite different from its neighboring Germanic languages. The other slavs probably hate it because slavs just generally hate each other.

I write only about languages which I know.
1) Ukrainian - pleasant, very deep language.
2) Russian - good universal slavic language (partially thanks to soviet science).
3) English - slightly dry and mechanical, but simple and universal language.
4) Norwegian - heavenly melodic language, my favorite one for private satisfaction.
5) German - fun and poetic language (thanks to german Sturm und Drang, romantism, modern dark-folk, etc).
